  2. Intro:
    Super Strength/Super Reflexes

    Why SS/SR you may ask?
    Why the hell not?
    J/k
I decided to roll up a SS/SR after the devs decided not to proliferate Super Strength to scrappers. I figured that /SR would be essentially the same red side. I had never played /SR before, but I wanted my Spidey themed toon, so, Scarlet Recluse was born. I admit that at first, this set can be a little slow, and seem a little squishy. Your toggles and attacks will drain you. When you get hit, you get hit for the full amount of damage. It truely is a late blooming set, but insps will make up for your weak green bar, and your blue bar will eat through all of your blue pills if you arent careful. However, once you are slotted a little, and figured things out, you'll be one of the more powerful brutes around, IMHO. Yes, stone brutes in granite will laugh at you, once they get Granite, before that happens though, you can laugh at them as they die.
As you level, you will want to focus on maximizing your def. and minimizing end drain. I normally slot attacks with an acc and an end red, no need for damage as fury will take care of that. My toggles normally get 2 end redux and 2 def, around 22 I start frankenslotting to maximize every slot I have.

WARNING: This is my first guide be wary as the information herein is mostly my opinion, with a few facts sprinkled around to make it seem like I have some clue what's going on.

    Super Strength:

    Jab
    Minor Damage(Smash), Minor Disorient
    Recharge: Very Fast (2 seconds)
    Single Target
Recommended Slotting: 6 slots (3 damage, 1 accuracy, 2 endurance redux)

One of the two powers one can grab at level one. It's not a bad filler attack, but I'll suggest against it. Brawl is a great filler attack all on its own. This power has a minor chance to disorient.

    Punch
    Melee, Moderate DMG(Smash), Knockback
    Recharge: Fast (4 seconds)
    Single Target
Recommended Slotting: 6 slots (3 damage, 1 acc, 2 endurance redux)

The other power you may grab at level 1. I suggest this one, it will be one of your staple attacks, whether you PvE or PvP. I find myself using this plenty at level 50, especially as a fury builder.. It's great to have in your attack chain. It has a chance of knocking an enemy back, but it is far more likely it will just knock them down instead. Very useful.

    Haymaker
    Melee, High DMG(Smash), Knockback
    Recharge: Moderate (8 seconds)
    Single Target
Recommended Slotting: 6 slots (3 damage, 1 acc, 2 endurance redux)

Now we're getting into the good stuff! You can grab Haymaker at level 2. Do it! Do it! It'll also be part of your attack chain, no matter what you may be doing. It has a higher chance to knockdown/knockback than Punch does. It's great for juggling mobs.

    Hand Clap
    PBAoE, Foe Disorient, Knockback
    Recharge: Slow (30 seconds)
    PBAoE
Recommended Slotting: 4 slots (2 accuracy, 2 disorient)

Hand Clap is a decent power for PvE, If you don't like to deal damage. It is a damage mitigation power, used in an emergency. It applies a stun to everything that it hits. This isn't strong enough to disorient a boss mob. It has a negative accuracy modifier (0.8 instead of 1.0), so you'll want to slot it for at least 2 accuracies to make sure it hits. I am afraid I can not recommend this power for anyone. If you intend to PvP, avoid this power. It won't serve you well at all.

    Knockout Blow
    Melee, Extreme DMG(Smash), Foe Hold
    Recharge Time: Slow (25 seconds)
    Single Target
Recommended Slotting: 6 slots (2-3 damage, 1 accuracy, 1-2 endurance redux, 1 recharge)

This is it. At level 8, you can pick up this bad boy monster of a power. Beware! The animation is somewhat slow. And it eats up a lot of endurance right off the start (18!). Oddly enough, this power also has a range of 13 feet versus most of your other single target attacks, which have a range of 5 feet. The good news is that it has a higher accuracy modifier that any of your attacks, to make sure it hits (1.2 versus the normal 1.0). It is still a pain when it misses, however, so I always make sure it has at least 1 accuracy in it. This attack will also almost guaranteed knock up whatever mob you use it on. I've had it knock up some AV's, even! This is going to be the attack you use when your fury is built up some. Your jaw will drop the first time you use this along with rage.

    Taunt
    Ranged (Targeted AoE), Foe Taunt
    Recharge Time: Fast (10 seconds)
    Targeted AoE
Recommended Slotting: Considering the 3 or 4 days I had it, Me punching the hell out of people usually grabbed there attention. However, it can be useful, especially in teams.
Taunt is fantastic. If no one else has it on your team, you'll likely grab an entire mobs' attention and keep it. This is a good thing. When you have mobs attacking you, you are building fury more quickly. This power is not for everyone, though. Foot stomp can do the job well enough to grab a mobs' attention, a lot of the time. Personally, I would not recommend this for PvP at all, because on team PvP that pesky blaster will cut through your defenses faster than a fat guy eating an ice cream sandwich.

    Rage
    Self +DMG, +ACC, Delayed Self(Weaken, Special)
    Recharge Time: (240 seconds)
    Self
Recommended Slotting: You want rage to be up as much as possible. To start off with, 3 slot it with recharge ASAP. Later on, add ToHit enhancements to improve the bonus of it. You'll end up with 31% ToHit buff instead of 20% if you 3 slot it with SO's.

Rage is the crown jewel of Super Strength. Get it as soon as you can, at level 18. If you don't, everyone will laugh at you. I saw a brute without it once. I think we made her cry we laughed at her so much. While everyone else gets Build Up, you get this. In my opinion, this is far better. At the end of two minutes, you will be weakened for 10 seconds, losing 1/4th of your endurance, you can still use your attacks still, but you wont be able to do any damage. There are dangers associated with this. You will want to use this power in conjunction with hasten to get time with this stacked doubly. With hasten, quick reflexes, and 3 recharge reductions in rage, you can get around 35 seconds in double rage. +160% damage is a beautiful thing, and so is the insane ToHit buff you'll be getting along with that. There is currently a bug that gets rid of the -defense that occurs when rage drops, as long as it is double stacked.

    Hurl
    Ranged, High DMG(Smash), Knockback, -Fly
    Recharge Time: Moderate (8 seconds)
    Single Target
Recommended Slotting: 6 slots (3 damage, 1 acc, 2 endurance redux)

Hurl has recently been buffed with a decrease in animation time. With that said, I just really had no need for it at this point in my build, still had defenses to buff up.
If you do get it, I recommend getting it later.

    Foot Stomp
    PBAoE Melee, Moderate DMG(Smash), Knockback
    Recharge Time: Slow (20 seconds)
    PBAoE (15 foot radius)
Recommended Slotting: 6 slots!! (3 damage, 1 acc, 2 endurance redux)

Drool now! You will get this power, you will slot it, you WILL LOVE IT!!(ahem). It will essentially knock everything up in the air if it's around your level, and if it's a couple levels below you, it will knock it back instead. This is huge in terms of damage mitigation. The only thing more beautiful than watching a brute footstomp with rage and a full fury bar going, is a brute with double stacked rage, a full fury bar,and...(wait for it)...
Fulcrum shift. The first time I saw it, I really did have a SMASHgasm!!!!
If this power doesn't put an evil grin on your face, log out of your brute, delete him, and go roll a Defender. Pansy.

    Super Reflexes:

This is more condensed than Super Strength, grouping like powers. And you're going to want all of them, so no need to debate the relative merits of individual powers. I'll discuss the one you're not going to take later.

Focused Fighting, Focused Senses, Evasion (the toggles):
Your basic defense. Early on, the endurance cost of two will hurt. Melee hits damage more, so keep fighting on and turn off senses when you don't need it. You want to make sure the first two are well-slotted by the time you hit SOs. The toggles provide 19.5% defense with 3 SOs each. You're taking a minion down to 30% to hit you, and bosses down to 45%. Thanks to the global defense (more accurately, enemy to-hit) changes with I7, these percentages will stay pretty consistent up to +5 enemies.Evasion is also your taunt aura.

    Agile, Dodge, Lucky (the passives):
Your supplemental defense. Since these don't offer as much base defense as the toggles, take them later, and slot them later. At 7.8% extra defense 3 SO'ed, combined with the toggles, you are taking minions down to a 22% chance of hitting, bosses to 38%. Very nice, and very noticeable.

Then, there is the matter of the damage resistance. Each passive gives you scaling damage resistance--a little when you hit yellow, and more when you hit red. When you have all three and you are in the red, what would have been a kill shot hits you for half the damage or less, and you live to punch more things in the face. And the difference between two and three passives is VERY noticeable. You need them all.

    Practiced Brawler:
One of the best status protection powers in the game. 2 recharge SOs + Quickness and it's perma. It can't be detoggled, and it doesn't cost endurance past firing it.

    Quickness:
Some say it's skippable, but not from my angle. It helps your recharge everywhere, and the slow protection it provides is extremely valuable. When the Earth Thorn Caster drops quicksand and you run straight through it and smack him in the face, you'll thank me. The run speed buff is also great.

    Elude:
Your god-mode. With this on, there is very little that will touch you. It has a huge boost to endurance recovery, increases your speed, and I believe an increase in jumping. However, with a few IO's of the right type in the right places, by the time this comes around, you will already be at the soft cap for defenses.
So yes. You want all of the SR powers. But in reality, you may have to forego one.

First choice: the AOE protection. You're not getting it until late anyway, and, with a few notable exceptions, AOEs hurt less than ranged and melee. With your SR supplement pool, you will have ways of recovering or lessening the AOE damage. Plus, a mere 3 levels from Evasion, you get Elude. If you find yourself in AOE hell that's too much to survive, you have a button out. However, remember that Evasion has your taunt aura. IO slotting (see later) can also provide good AOE defense.

You can strategize to minimize AOE damage as well. Charge into melee, and Nemesis will try to stab you with their guns rather than fire their AOEs. If there's only one AOE'er, he dies first.

So drop Lucky or Evasion? Evasion. Why? Even though it provides more AOE defense, you're better without it. First, it's a toggle, and it costs endurance. Second, the 3-passive scaling damage resistance is worlds better than the 2-passive. You may be hit by more AOEs, but they'll do less damage by the time you are in the yellow. And that's when it matters most. I tried life without both, and keeping Lucky is what I settled on. The damage res. once you are in the red, I like to classify as sick, stupid, ridiculous, and other descriptive words.

Second choice: Elude. Late game, you can use IOs to get your defense to 45% all around, making elude a bit redundant in most PVE situations.
I skipped elude. The way I am slotted and IO'ed I need not elude.

    TRAVEL POWERS:

Honestly, what you want. The prereqs can add “character” to your tight build. If you would like to play around with more knockdown options, air superiority leads to fly. Hasten is always welcome in any build for me, and leads to superspeed. Combat jumping gives a lil’ bit extra defense, which adds up, and leads to superjump. Superjump was perfect for me because I was going with a Spidey theme. And teleporting is… ummm… teleport.

Also, there is one other option: no travel power. Swift + Quickness + Sprint will get you to somewhere between the speed of base fly and 1-slotted fly. I've tried it, and it's workable. I just don't have the patience. But, if you really, really, want to squeeze in more AOEs or other pools, this can be a way to free up a power. Plus, it's a great way to accent a natural origin character.

    Fitness:

Swift, hurdle, health, stamina. Stamina is for sissies.
If you believe that, go smack yourself.
Hurdle will help with movement through maps, getting to the next mob before your team does.
Swift will help, and also increase the speed of flight, if you happen to pick up fly.
Health will help you stay in the red, for a long, long time.
Stamina, don't get and see how long you go. Dummy.

    Fighting:

You want this for both tough and weave.
Tough is where you are going to put the Steadfast Protection +3% def/res. This will help you soft cap your def. The good thing is you don't have to have tough on to get the bonus. It will however add with your scaling Res. to make you, well, tough.
Weave will also stack with your already considerable def. to make you that much harder to hit.
The only bad thing is that you would have more toggles to run.

    Medicine Pool:

Aid other or stimulant, I go with aid other to help my supergroup get the healing badge.
Aid Self doesn't need any interrupt reductions when you have this much defense. Recharge and heal are what I put in my toon. The way I am slotted I can get around half my health back every 10-15 seconds. You will be hit, and sometimes you may be out of green pills. This is where Aid self is a huge boon.

There are other powers, but I am barely an amateur on those, much less an expert.

    IO Crap:

Well, here are some IO's that you could possibly slot to help yourself along. Remember that you can **** the global bonuses at a lower lvl without much of a detrimental effect on whatever power you slot it in.

Numina’s Convalescence +Regen/Recovery and Miracle +Recovery: will cost you a pretty penny, but when slotted in Health, boost your endurance recovery a significant degree, which is very helpful if you have a toggle-intensive build.

Performance Shifter Chance for +End: The poor man’s recovery boost, slotted in Stamina, give a 20% chance to return 10 endurance. This chance is checked for every 10 seconds, so on average you should get a bonus 10 endurance once every 50 seconds. Not entirely reliable but a nice help when it goes off.

Steadfast Protection +3% global defense: Goes in Tough if you take it. Works even if Tough isn’t on, in case you need to save endurance through one less active toggle.

Gaussian’s Chance for Buildup: It gives a 5% chance of buildup, This should go into rage where it would go off randomly--on average once every 3 minutes which with double stacked rage and a nearly full fury bar, is just a stupid amount of damage.

Miracle +Recovery: Guess what, you have alot of toggles running and when you are in a long fight, that can hurt. Every little bit helps.

Regenerative Tissue +Regen: MMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm more regeneration, guess how much that will help when you're in the yellow or red.

Here is my final build, the only thing I am missing is the Luck of the Gambler set, but he is still able to accomplish the RWZ Challenge, solo a whole group of the EB's in the ITF, and slaughter a whole lot of anything that moves.

    Accolades Guide?

Yeah, which sucks, as I don't really have much of a desire to visit the pvp zones. At all. Ever.
  4. Gotta thank you guys, alot. I have used the information in here to put together a build for my ss/sr brute, and so far he is a blast to play, and he is only 27 so far.

    Pics or it didn't happen.
  6. nevermind, didn't notice the sliding scale on the power for being surrounded by baddies.
  7. I have a question, when I plug this build into Mid's, it puts the regen rate @ 1026 percent. That has to be an error I am sure, but any idea where it is coming from?

    The New Empire

[censored] I love this tale that you are weaving. This is my new daily read, right along with pvponline.com
Wonderful pacing, rich detail, and the reader gets a better feel for each heroes personality.
  10. As the doors swung open, a large, shadowy figure walked into the resteraunt. At first glance, most people mistook him for a villain. He stood almost seven feet tall, had long white hair, and black skin. Not brown, black as midnight. He had a pointed tail, horns jutting from the side of his head, and white tattoos that ran up his torso and down his arms.
Greetings human, I seek food, drink, and companions to swap tales with.
Gobbledygook could tell that he had possibly frightened this young girl, but the man behind her seemed unphased.
"Where would you like to be seated sir, at a table, or the bar?"
English is he, seems pompous enough. The bar sounds like a good place to start. Although maybe I should change, I forget what my natural form does to normal people.
With that there was a puff of smoke, and the demon seemed to have been replaced with a normal looking man in his mid 20s, wearing a pair of baggy jeans, a dark blue shirt, and a hat. His eyes still had a slight shine to them, but they were now blue.
    That better Jeeves?
Before he could answer, he walked off towards the bar.
"Is that Stevie Ray Vaughnn I hear? Great, I love the classics"
Most people thought Gobb was arrogant, that he thought he was better than others, they were right.
Before approaching the bar tender and ordering his drink, he went to the Jukebox, dropped some money in, and picked some new songs.
Sevendust started playing, next he had chosen Metallica, Fade to Black of course, followed by Nirvana and Guns and Roses.
Stepping up to the bar, he pulled out a special I.D. that had been issued to him because of his age.
"Here ya go hon, born November 22, 1502. Now, how bout starting me off with a little Captain Morgan Parrot Bay and Dr. Pepper, please?"
((OOC: Gobbledygook is slightly concieted, is a regen scrapper, and loves to drink and eat. He's actually a very nice guy if you can get past his rough exterior.))
  11. Tigonus and Embher join the ladies as they walk away in disgust, "Hey, wait up!" they called!!
  12. [ QUOTE ]
After you get IH, you can drop the heals in INT?? Simply wrong... goofy wrong.

IH is no longer your bread and butter. Not even close INT is the best power in the line by lots. IH is actually optional at this point, a very good option and one I recommend but far from bread and butter.

[/ QUOTE ] Bitter sting, this is just in IMHO, but have you lost your cotton picking mind? IH makes a regen scrapper tougher than a freakin invuln tank. As a lvl 47 I have 47, 48, even 49 Invuln tanks see me do things that they call me crazy about. Don't slot IH, let me know when you'll be in the arena, I wanna watch a defender smack you around.
  13. Gobbledygook

    Mean Characters

I have a couple of things that are going to make me an instant success in CoV.
Way before Recall Friend had a prompt, if someone on the team annoyed me, I would tp them into a group of +5 Tanks or PPs.

While street hunting with my fire/fire tank, at lvl 15, a group of 8s came up and started KS'ing. I repeatedly asked them to stop, they didn't, so I herded half of the hollows into them and watched as they died. I then logged in with my 47 claws scrapper and 1 shotted every group they went after, God I love shockwave. I later got an apology.
  14. Michael really didn't want to hit Sartain, but they were soldiers, so she was going down. That had always been one of the things that his wife had enjoyed about him, even though it made her nervous. He was driven, if someone told him he couldn't do something, he did it just to prove them wrong, and he never backed down from a reasonable challenge.
This wasn't right though, Sartain didn't want to spar, but they had to.Swallowing his doubts, and moving with a speed that was very impressive for a man of his size, he decked her, right in the jaw. Damn, I hope I didn't hurt her. Sparring should be consensual, more fun that way.

    [ QUOTE ]
She needed a plan before he tore into her even more. She tried to bring her palm up fast under his chin. She grabbed a handful of his fur before attempting the shot, hoping to distract him a bit...or make him even more ferocious.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tigonus watched as he saw the girl stagger. She is stronger than she appears, or maybe I just didn't hit her hard enough? He was surprised when she grabbed him by his fur, and even more surprised when she struck him under his chin. Realizing that he shouldn't have assumed the girls battle prowess from her appearance, leapt backwards, out of arms reach.
"A good blow, but can you do it again?"
While he was asking this, he had hardened his skin, making his fur sparkle in the light. He hated to do this, as it made him tire easier, but this would be all the defense he should need for now.

((OOC: I only suggested that she may have to if he loses his temper to much. Tigonus is an animal that resembles a mna, not a man that resembles an animal. Or if you prefer, if he does lose his cool, maybe someone else can take him out.))
  15. (( OOC: Sorry I havent posted in a few days, but I've been sick. As to when I post, generally anytime theres a computer handy.))

Embher watched the exchange between the General and Sartain, while he was glad he had made her train, he understood there must be a reason she didn't want to. As she approached him, he noticed that she was using some of the hand signals he had been taught in Bragg.
I can't remember what they all mean, but I can tell she doesn't want to lose her cool. Good thing Outrage paired the two of us up. With a thought, flames started to creep along Embhers skin, her hair blew in a slight breeze, and suddenly, WHOOOSH! an explosion. Fire surrounded his body, but it didn't seem to burn him.
"Dont worry, it wont burn you, and it'll help protect me, just try to dodge my blows or roll with them." , he whispered, hoping that she had heard him.

Tigonus looked at the young girl. Not as a hunter stalking his prey, but as a child, not understanding why he has to do something. "I don't understand, we are to fight, but why?"

After asking himself this question, he was reminded of his homeworld, where slaves fought each other, sometimes to the death. He decided he would try his hardest not to hurt the young woman, but on his world, the loser did not eat.

Tigonus stepped in a circular pattern around the girl, sniffing, she was nervous. He pounced on her, without a sound, and with his powerful fist, he struck her in the face as hard as he could. Maybe if he knocked her out, he could eat before the others.
(( OOC: Akazi may have to use a mental blast to take Tig down, he doesn't understand the concept of sparring completely))
  16. Tigonus heard more voices as he watched the "Demonstration", and turned to see who they were coming from. Apparently there were alot more cadets here than he originally believed. This new one though, there was something about her. He should have smelled her as soon as she entered the room, but he hadn't. She appeared to have some animalistic traits herself. The pheremones that the two cadets were outting off were obvious to him, but he wasn't sure if they realized what they meant, or if they could smell them for that matter.
    "Michael,"
Call me Embher when were training or on ops, only Michael when were off duty.
"Sorry, Embher, who are those people, are they students to?"
Embher turned his head to were the Tiger had indicated, and saw two people, looked to be in there late teens, maybe early twenties. You could tell they were infatuated with one another, or perhaps they were just shy; he decided to find out.
" C'mon kitty, lets go introduce ourselves."
"Do not call me Kitty, human."

    [ QUOTE ]
"I..I think I can explain what's going on. Lord Raymond is letting Alan attack him to teach us his methods for taking less damage from punches and kicks. It doesn't look like Alan is holding too much back though, if this keeps up maybe the rest of us won't have to do hand-to-hand today."

    [/ QUOTE ]
"Fat chance of that happenin' kid. Im gettin in some hand to hand, even if it's with a brick wall,"
Embher extended his hand towards the man. In some cultures, denying a hand shake was an insult, shaking to hard meant you were trying to overcompensate for something, and shaking to softly meant you were intimidated. He wanted to get the measure of everyone he met.
" besides, I think the brit can take alot, tough guys those british. "
As he waited for his hand to be shook, he smiled and looked into the mans face, wondering if he would look him in his eyes.
  17. "Go ahead someone, hit me"
    the englishman had said.
Well, all of the Brits I trained with were pretty damned tough, and this little guy looks pretty stout. Embher thought.
Tigonus heard the comment, but didn't understand why he wanted anyone to hit him. He was about to ask Michael, when he heard someone yell, "RAYMOND!"
    and kick him.
    "Pretty solid kick kid,"
Michael managed yo get out before...
  18. Tigonus made sure he followed the large womans advice and stood downwind. He noticed that the girl he had seen talking to her a few minutes ago was now talking to another Cadet. He seemed to talk differently than everyone else as well. Seeing this variety of people, with there different backgrounds skowing in the open made Tig a little nervous, but it also made him feel safe. In his home world, Statesman, had been an evil man, not unlike Tyrant, but a little different. He destroyed differences, if it wasn't his idea of normal, it was obliterated. It gave him hope that maybe this world was different than his own.

Michael followed Tigonus, figuring if his nose was as sensitive as his ears, he would know what a safe distance away from MaDeuce would be. As he observed the exchange between the others, he hoped P.T. would end quickly, it had been 4 hours since he ate last. He wouldn't starve, but he felt as if he would.
"The new girl seems friendly enough," he remarked.
At the point he turned to see...

((Nice guidon, Ilike the blending of the american and british flags. BTW tag whoever wants to step in.))
  19. ((OOC: Think its morning now, probably my fault rushed my new character into the story, I offer my most sincere apologies if I screwed anyone up. This message will self destruct.))
  20. Embher was glad to that Rock-Hopper had rejoined them, although he could feel the anger rising off of the man in waves of heat.
He also knew from personal experience that a peeved off Aussie wa not someone you wanted coming after you.
"Glad to see you're back. Now at least there'll be someone else standing beside me who can take a punch."
((OOC: I realize Iv'e been vague about his powers, but he is a fire/fire tank. That is all, this message will self destruct.))
  21. Embher landed in time to hear Fox tell the new hero, who had nice armor, what was going on.
He burned inside, more so than normal. First his wife died thanks to the crey, now his niece, the council. They would all pay.
"If your going to do something, I'm going to help."
He looked at Fox, directly in his eyes. He was a soldier to once, he could tell. Embher always had a problem with authority, but if Fox had a plan, he was ready to listen.
  22. Embher and Tigonus watched as Sartain and and the new recruit exchanged greetings.
Wish I remembered more of the language" , he mumbled under his breath, hoping the tiger-man didn't hear.
    "What language is that?"
"Arabic. Aren't there more languages where your from?"
"No, the Statesman of my world has wiped out all others, only his language remains."
Wow, kitty can hear good. I'll have to remember that.

Nice to meet you, names Embher, this heres Tigonus. I got here last night, Tig got here this morning. We're headed out for some exercise. The registrar is actually off duty now that the day has started. You'll have to report directly to Cpl Punishmen."

Tigonus watched the exchange, he didn't mind that this man did the talking for him, he was actually kind of glad, it let him focus on his senses. He could see that his 'Battle Buddy' as the Cpl had put it, was actually glowing. It was so faint in the light, that he wasn't sure if he anyone else could see it. The man also smelt like ozone being burned, just a faint odor, not bad, but not pleasant either. The girl had a strange smell, he couldn't place it though, he had smelt it once, a long time ago. It was strange alright, almost alien.
He noticed then that he was purring. He hated that!

Was he just purring? I'm NOT buying him cat-nip.
  23. Embher saw Rock-Hopper, and was relieved to see he didn't kill the last soldier. Not that he had any love for the council, but he could tell the decision would have weighed heavily on the mans concious.
Realizing that he had turned around back towards the direction of the group, he followed. He didn't know why, but he felt that the sirens that he had originally been jumping to were not the most important things right now. He sensed a kindred spirit in this man, a man dressed like a penguin.
Maybe I am losing my mind , he thought, and leapth after the penguin.
  24. (( OOC: sorry to move the story so fast, but it seemed time for a new day. Figured PT was a good place to start it))
Michael got up at 0400, his roommate till asleep, he dressed and shaved in the dark, using only what light he himself emanated. It had been along time since he had been in unit P.T., but he still looked forward to it. While in the Army, he had always hit the gym before and after P.T. then he remembered MaDeudes comment about the weight room, gravity wells, planets. He was strong, but not that strong. Maybe P.T. would be enough, since there were metas here.
Maybe he could get down stairs and meet the D.I. now.

He walked down the stairs, turned the corner heading to the D.I.s office, and saw Sartain leaving the office with the Guidon. Good, a soldier with the guidon, where it should be. A decoration, and if necessary, a weapon. Michael grinned.

As he approached the door, he noticed two heat signatures, one must be the D.I.s the other one a recruit, once he got closer he could hear them talking, and decided not to give up his little advantage. Who knew when he might need to black mail someone. As he inched closer, he heard the D.I. and another voice, like a rumble...

"...sure if I would fit in here, until I saw the giant woman. So there are others here like her?" asked the strange voice.
"Yes Tig, not exactly like her, but different in appearance, like you to. As a matter of fact the duty Sergeant told me we had another new arrival last night, military training to. We also have a Cadet here with horns and wings, so your appearance wont have a very large bearing on your training."

"Thank you, very much, and you said to refer to you as a mean person when the others are around?"asked the rumbling baritone.
"You don't have to, but if anyone thinks you're getting special treatment, they'll give you a hard time.

    Knock Knock

"Can you tell the doors open or are you BLIND?!?"
Embher wanted to grin, he missed yelling at recruits like that. He always enjoyed making the tough guys break down and cry.
In a voice so loud that it almost made Tigonus cry, he bellowed, "Drill Sergeant, Cadet Embher, Michael reporting for training!!!"
"At least I wont have to tell you to sound off in formation, where'd you do basic troop?"
"Ft. Benning, Drill school and my time on the trail at Benning to."
"Good, I want you to meet Cadet Tigonus, he'll be your P.T. partner. Don't worry, you wont singe his fur, he's a tough kitty. He's also new to this world, so he'll need a full time battle buddy, heres a list of the rules."

Great, now Im a cat sitter , thought Michael
"Weapons training, you can choose your own partner though, Tigonus wont be there. Lets head out for formation there, I need to talk to Lazier Beam, see if he can make noise filters for Tig, his hearings apparently to sharp for his own damn good."

With that the Cpl stood and walked out, leaving the two newcomers alone.

Tigonus looked up at the large man and said,"what is P.T.?"
Michael chuckled a little, Ah, to be a new recruit again. Looks like kitty might enjoy P.T. might even have me a work out partner .
"Lets go, I'll explain as we go." , Michael executed an about face, and walked in the direction Sartain had taken, hoping to catch up to her. He saw her talking to someone he hadn't seen before, and decided to introduce himself.
  25. (( OOC: no one in particular at the door, just hoping someone would come in and meet my new character, didn't want to place any there if thet didn't wanna be there, if no one shows up soon though, ill make an npc get yelled at ))
