  4. Like Alvan said - it's the total bonus that matters, not the number of enhancements slotted. The only disadvantage of 6-slotting a defense shield with 6 DO's is that once you start using SO's you'll need to respec to re-allocate slots to where they'll be of more use.

  6. I'm almost good to go. I picked up some Shivans yesterday evening, filled up on insps, cleared a mission slot (to knock the rust off my mace) and made sure I was set to heroic reputation (I assume we'll all be setting ourselves to Heroic for the task forces, right? ). Now it's just a matter of moving myself into FBZ tonight and I will be good to go Oh yeah, everyone bring sunglasses tomorrow - you're going to be staring at an 8 foot tall bright green and pink tanker for a ridiculous amount of time

    Not to put a dampner on things, but most of the missions that 'appear' ghostable (i.e Defeat leader and guards) aren't due to 'fanclubs' (unless thats been changed) and the lies (Some of the Defeat Leader and Guards are actually defeat all but don't tell you)

    These 'fanclubs' can see through stealth etc and will attack you till you die and curse skyward, and if you rez they'll auto come after you

    I'm glad you posted this, I was going to mention this myself.

    I'm not sure how much use it still is, but I wrote a guide to the SS TF's about a year ago, and I reckon most of it is still relevant. I know they fixed the 'invisible glowie' bug a while back, so ignore any mentions of that.

  12. According to Nofuture.org.uk (which uses normalised damage scalar figures instead of brawl index values) the damage of Exploding Shuriken is comparable with the damage of Strike, Spin and Shockwave. Shuriken is halfway between Swipe and Strike in terms of damage.

  14. If you see yourself getting involved in long, drawn out battles you may want to consider slotting an endurance reduction in your most used attacks. My lvl 36 spines/inv uses a fair bit of endurance running two to three defense toggles and quills. At 37 I'm throwing an endurance reduction into impale, ripper and either throw spines or spine burst so I can keep fighting for longer.

    You still haven't answered my non-drivelly question regarding what enemy types you were fighting when you noticed that PFF wasn't as effective as before. If you were fighting an enemy group with known high accuracy or were sitting in the middle of a devouring earth mission surrounded by those eminators that increase mob accuracy than it would impact how PFF performs. If you've noticed this across a wide range of enemy types then maybe you're on to something. It's hard to know without knowing the test conditions used.
  16. I have both Aid Self and Tough I picked up Stimulant instead of Aid Other though - I figured that helping to keep defenders/controllers/blappers unmezzed would be more useful than throwing out the odd unslotted heal.

    slotted 3 heal/3 decrease interupt - heals for 584 points and recharges in about 25 seconds
    (heals 41.13% of hp every 25 seconds)


    slotted 3 recharge/3 decrease interupt - heals for 278 points and recharges in about 14 seconds

    lvl 50 inv/mace tank with 2155.2 health. I have Freedom Phalanx Reserve and Portal Jockey Accolades at lvl 50 which bumps my health up 15%. I've adjusted my health accordingly to get an actual base health figure of 1874. Hasten remained turned off. Aid Self was slotted with lvl 50 SO's (i.e. white even levels).

    I went with 2 interupt reduction, 2 heal, 2 recharge with my Inv tanker. As a defense based tanker you could probably decrease the number of interupt reductions and go for more heal or more recharge if you liked.

    1 decrease interupt, 3 heal and 2 recharge would get you about 40% of your hit points back every 16 seconds or so (add another 3 or 4 seconds for power activation). To me that looks like a much better return on power picks than the ~ 25% resistance you get to just smashing/lethal damage from 3-slotted Tough. Aid Self needs a couple more slots to shine than Tough but I think they're worth it.

  20. Naw, don't worry about it. I'm not a badge collector so I wasn't doing the TF for the badge - I was just looking for some fun teaming and some high level tanking as my mace has gotten rusty lately I can bring Gen 2 out of semi-retirement another time

  22. I wouldn't mind doing it if you have room for a second tank Generalissimo 2, lvl 50 Inv/Mace tanker. I have well slotted TP and also recall friend, for optimum Shadow Shard travelling.
