  1. I went and tried it out again.

In an effort to fix this "exploit" the Sweep combo is only sweeping only one target and none in the vicinity.

  2. not happy with the changes to Ablating Strike with this patch. It is effecting the sweep combo.
  3. Today will be a good day. A triumphant day, as Statesman's crotch will be no more. Bid it farewell all!
  4. First really useful freebie.
  5. Issue 23 will build to the game, but it isn't all that thrilling. But my gut feeling tells me that I24 and I25 will be epic.
  6. I think the biggest reason why I like tankers over Brutes is that Brutes feel like Scrappers on roids. :P

Tankers need a few tweaks here and there, but I think that would be enough to increase their popularity.
  7. I am glad Issue 23 will release soon so the Paragon team can move onto the better issues ahead (I24 and I25).

Issue 23 isn't bad, but I don't think it will pass the mustard test when it comes to holding people's attention not named Golden Girl. o.O
  8. That is awesome.

I still like the danger room bug for bases though!

Like I said, they have already done revamps, and depending on how it's done it can be essentially indistinguishable from new content (see: the Hollows in Issue 12 vs. the Incarnate-level Dark Astoria revamp). But an entire Issue full of tiny little things like tweaking textures and only fixing a bunch of bugs instead of adding actual new stuff? There are definitely some bugs in this game that could use greater attention, but you can't do it all in one go, it needs to be done over time as much as can be managed while still fitting in real new content. Otherwise you end up with something like Issue 15.

And again, even if you do devote all your resources to just maintenance, you can still only fix what you figure out how to fix. The devs could work 24/7 on trying to figure out why Mastermind pets are complete morons and still not figure it out. It's not like working in a factory where you just hammer nails into a widget for X amount of time and when you're done you have Y widgets, so if you spend X+n time you end up with Y+m widgets.

Really this thread just blows me the hell away because I literally cannot wrap my head around the concept of more choices = fewer choices. The game is not without its flaws post-Freedom (lord knows it's not), but I don't think I've seen any criticism that has made any actual coherent sense.
No I I don't agree at all with your myopic view point.

A QoL change like inherent stamina is an integral part of a revamp. QoL changes, power set balance changes (see Gravity tweaks), revamping zones to be easier to navigate and be aesthetically pleasing, etc.

I didn't say all resources should be devoted to fix the core game. Only one issue. Incarnate content has had plenty of dedicated issues, so time to go back to the core I say.
  10. Not enough need a lot more proactive approach.
  11. When Stamina was made base line that was "new content", so I reject the notion that revamping is not new content.

There is a reason why the Paragon team is allowing CoX players to choose to revamp a zone. They too realize you have to start to revamp the core of the game. Or adding in new textures in the costume creator that will actually look like tights instead of painted on look.

In short, I do not think there would be any complaints if one issue was dedicated to a revamp to breathe in the replay value of the game as a whole.
  12. Adding new stuff to the game without upgrading the core creates a stale environment. This is why an issue to polish up the core game is sorely needed. Biggest fears of Incarnate content is coming to fruition..the foundation of the game needs help now.
  13. I think if they spend an issue to tie up loose ends (IO sets, mission architect, bases, power sets, etc) of existing content it would rejuvenate the game. To me, it is clear that adding more (Going Rogue expansion) is pretty much a flash in the pan.

This is why I look forward to zone revamps Paragon team has in store. But I believe they need to expand on that idea of revamping the games core.
  14. The game feels stale because the new stuff is being pumped out and the rest of the game isn't being upgraded at the same pace. We are reaching a saturation point with all these new power sets and costumes, while existing balance changes need to be done for existing power sets for example. Mittens for hands is another point or even power customization for epics/pools.
  15. Across the board buffs for me woot! o.O
  16. The stealth power from the Concealment pool is a relic from the past, which is why the stealth IO is superior (no movement debuff).
  17. That article is wrong on so many levels. Aion in Korea is a big hit, so to argue it didn't gain traction is a Western centric point of view. Next, I agree with others the Freedom model is simply evolving on what other MMO's are doing to offer customers (existing and new) options.
  18. It doesn't matter if it is free, if the customer perceives a slight. In my opinion, unless they ramp up Freebie Friday this type of tone is pretty much ho hum.

    DP/Pain

You should have access to two builds at that level (solo and team).

    Blaster DP/Dev

Mez is the biggest problem with blasters, so generally for blasters, and most AT's, defense is better just for that reason. Now, resistance combined with defense is even better, but you don't have the ability to make such an amalgam using a blaster, so just stick with defense.
  21. PVP doesn't need a lot of time investment to make it work in this game, because of the diversity of power set combinations, power pools, epics, and incarnate powers. You can fill most gaps using power choices, but also IO set bonues, and procs.

PVP just need some global tweaks like travel suppression and heal decay to be toned down.
  22. I second the motion of rolling all the ammo types all in one since most are very minor.

It will make more people PVP. More people pvping = more justification for future changes.
Just revert Castle's changes. Simple, most elegant. least-time consuming solution to "fixing" PVP.
