Our saying is the customer is always right.

Perspective: Customer is always right.

I haven't done the napkin math but has it really been 4 days worth of play time? If this is true, a big if, then some compensation is reasonable.
-
Quote:I agree 100%.
It would be nice if your Customer Service personnel took heed of what is being written, and actually came up with a compensation package which is directed at EVERYONE involved and not just a few "lucky" individuals, and in my opinion, that would be to grant ALL paying customers a partial refund or extended free playtime. -
I wouldn't even pay 1 PP for it in a game where we can make our own looks. :P

Quote:Imagine how good AR would be if it did knock down instead of knockback?I find it particularly interesting that a dev (inadvertedly?) admitted that he finds knockback scatter to be detrimental to a power's effectiveness, and that he actually uses it as a balancing tool to limit AoE damage.
It explains some of the more bizarre decisions they came up with recently, like the massive knockback in Dark Blast's cone, Umbral Torrent. -
I honestly would prefer paragon points as compensation. What you say fellow forumites?

Quote:My primary is AR and I can safely say Sonic Resonance is underrated. Liquefy needs to have the recharge lowered and I think the set is good to go.Two people have spoken up about how much they enjoy their Sonic Defenders (Aneko and False Fiction), and both have Sonic Blast as a secondary. Sonic Blast practically out-performs Sonic Resonance in terms of applying resistance debuffs. At least half of any hard-target-meltage you'd see with this pairing comes from the secondary, not the primary, and could be fairly closely matched by a Storm/Sonic, TA/Sonic. Rad/Sonic, and so on.
I do care that other sets can hit the same numbers, because we shouldn't be penalised in terms of performance for choosing sets on concept grounds. I like Sonic too - my Sonic/Energy Defender was the first characterI unlocked the Alpha slot on out of over ten level 50s, but during my career I had a fair few gripes.
- Struggling with endurance in the early levels. I had enough to shield everyone and keep Disruption and Dispersion up, but precious little to blast. This was before inherent Stamina, but wasn't fun.
Suggestion: Lower the end cost of Disruption Field.
- Difficulty soloing. I couldn't do invincible missions until my mid-30s, whereas nearly every other character I played hit that at 22.
Suggestions: Give me better -Res solo. Either make Sonic Siphon stack, or affect multiple targets, or make Disruption Field somehow workable without an ally. Use the "Swap Ammo" trick to unlock two mutually exclusive powers, an ally toggle and a self-toggle maybe.
- Being away for a while and then joining a request to beat up Babbage. Getting a "lol psi" from some articulate teammate when I turned up and realising all my protection powers were useless.
Suggestion: Add Psi resistance to Clarity/and or Dispersion. (Or Psi defence...)
- Limited IO potential, as Burning Chick says.
Suggestion: Give us a new set or two for resistance with some decent bonuses like happened to PBAoE sets. Or add some token defence somewhere, eg Psi Defence in Clarity maybe, so we can slot a LotG/Kismet etc in there. (Make the Clarity Psi Def Power-Boostable too)
At least we can slot a Steadfast IO no problem.
Maybe add some -Def into Sonic Siphon so we could add an Achilles heel in there like other sets often do to boost their existing -Res?
I think theres a lot of little tweaks that could be done to the set without re-writing it that would make it more competitive and fun to play, and hopefully more popular. -

I am long time (ex) EA player, and if you skip Overload you might as well not play /EA. Since we are also discussing Overload, it also grants +recovery, so that is another reason why Energy Drain is superfluous. I think Energy Armor's Energy Drain should truly be a sapping tool because EA doesn't really need the defense from Energy Drain like IA does.
Quote:IA has Icy Bastion, which really a lot of people discount and far more important to reduce the recharge on than Hoarfrost.Oh yeah sure... A key power you get at level 4 is not that important, Overload is way more useful.
But wait! There's more!
Hoarfrost recharges in 360 seconds, while Overload has a 1000s recharge, so you'd get the benefits of having a ton of hp more often!
Oh, another thing! You can *perma* Hoarfrost with about 100% global rech from sets/Hasten/whatever! And there's no crash! With only accolades and slotted Hoarfrost a high end /IA build could walk around *all the freakin' time* with almost 2200 hp if it weren't for the 1606hp cap, add the set bonuses you'll eventually get to reach this global recharge and you'd probably have 2300-2400 hp perma, plus the softcapped defenses to at least s/l/e/n you'd obviously have on a IO build! Crazy huh? Now go try to perma Overload
Oh yeah you're certainly right. Btw my /regen stalker who has that useless +hp Hoarfrost clone agrees with you.
Regen stalkers are hurt the most because of the low HP caps. -
Exemping down can be fun, but NOT at level 20. If you enjoy fighting as a level 20 you have a twisted sense of "fun".
It feels very unheroic, boring, limited...why not just level a man build if you want that type of "fun".
One person said they had no problem doing it on a defender..lol probably was a D2 (Dark/Dark Defender, who pick up the majority of their goodies before level 20). -
I highly recommend compensation for the extra ordinary amount of down time lately. Paragon points would be sufficient, or game time.
-
Hate it.
If I can't use Full Auto and spin the screen 360 degrees while the animation of Full Auto is playing it feels...wrong.
Hate it. -

Ice Armor is the real deal compared to Energy Armor which is a cheap knockoff!

Quote:Energize is inferior to Recon and KIS. I had an /EA stalker but after beta trying it out and then test driving its older brother IA, I ended up deleting my /EA stalker.Wait - huh?
Energize offers a burst heal *and* regen. These are at least two of the elements Defense-based set players seek to obtain either via pool powers or set bonuses. I'm curious as to why you think it "doesn't work" or who these "others" are that deem it underwhelming, especially considering the debacle that was the previous healing option in the set.
The recharge isn't as fast as Reconstruction or Kuji-In Sha, but that doesn't negate the helpfulness of having a self-heal with regen included in the set. The endurance consumption reduction is just added thematic flavoring. -
Energize doesn't work on a defense base set, which clearly is my opinion, but there has been feedback by others that it is underwhelming, so I am not surprised.
Energy Drain has a longer animation time than IA's version and the only perk it has over IA's version is more end, which at that point you are swimming with end because of Energize, so it is superfluous (not often I am able to use this word but it fits perfectly).
Disrupt is a steaming pile. -
The stun aura is inferior mitigation compared to caltrops, chilling embrace, cloak of fear, etc.
EA looks good on paper, but in practice it really is meh and many people are over selling Recharge. The more recharge you stack the more the value decreases at a certain threshold, which is why perma Dom builds don't need more recharge than what is necessary for Perma dom or why you don't need more recharge if you can avoid the crash from Hasten, etc. -
I have started to level an Ice Armor Stalker and I will provide some reports from the field.
*salutes*
I theorize that I will not have to worry about energy/n energy too much till late game 30-50 up against Arachnos, or needing the perception, so level 28 isn't a long wait. -
To be blunt, I would rather the dev team focus on revamping old content than focusing on new shiny toys.
Proliferate weapon sets, power/epic pool customization, bases, base raiding, inventions revamp, or expansion, improved crafting, etc. -
I quickly found out that in beta that I still needed aid self for some burst healing even with Energize, which at that point I said why play an /EA just go /SR, or even /IA?
-
This set combination definitely is a late bloomer.
