  1. I'm still waiting on City of Civilians!
  2. Range needs a limit to which it can be debuffed. I don't even understand the point behind a power that debuffs the range of people right next to you.
  3. As I see it, super reflexes and regeneration have problems that stem from a similar source. Regeneration has too many powers that are meant to be used in special situations, and super reflexes has one. Regeneration only has two or three, arguably one or four, powers that are meant to be used in any combat situation. This means that those powers have to be very good for regeneration to be a valid set, meaning that regeneration players would be able to attain a satisfactory defence with fewer slots and powers than other players, making the set impossible to balance as the powers are simultaneously too powerful and too weak. Super reflexes, on the other hand, has elude and quickness as its only situational/nondefence powers. Players have to take many of those 7 other powers to have an effective build since the set has to be balanced with the possibility of someone taking all of the powers. This means that super reflex players have to spend more slots to achieve a defence similar to that of other players. Improving super reflex powers so that players can take less slots and be as good as other power sets would cause the players that kept those slots to be better than everyone else.
I hope somewhere in there I came close to getting my thoughts across, because there were places in there that I didn't know what I was getting at. My suggestion is to remove one or all of the passive melee/ranged/area triad powers, buffing the toggle versions of the removed passives, and replace them with maybe a utility power or two and a passive power that resists smashing/lethal damage under the rationale that you're so good at dodging that even attacks that hit you are glancing blows that do lessened damage. Since this is a passive power, the resistance wouldn't be very high, meaning that super reflexes would thematically remain a dodging set.
  4. At first I didn't care for him that much, but then it became apparant that he was the world's most eccentric reporter. He blatantly adds his opinions to his articles, is obsessed with hands on reporting, and has a black and white photo of himself next to his articles even though they are featured in a newspaper that is capable of color photos.
If they have a mission in Siren's Call in which you have to stop a Jackson Turner who has experienced dangerous mutations from radiation, I'm going to cry.
  5. I love you, Positron. You're my favorite.
  6. Why was this change made? It's important that I know why so that I can give the correct type of feedback.

Was it made for balance reasons? As in, was the previous defence bonus from stealth powers considered to be too large? If this is so then please give us numbers showing that it is currently in line with other defence powers. I have another question if the above scenario is true, what's the point of making it suppress if you get hit? That means that if something attacks you then you'll only get unsuppressed defence against one attack, and no unsuppressed defence if you started it. Make it always at the same effectiveness because this type of suppression is pointless and will only make things more complicated.

The second possible reason I can think of is for thematic reasons. As in, the enemies know you're there if power bolts come flying out of the air or if they see their buddy shooting at air. If this is the case then the suppression to the actual stealth makes sense, but not of defence. Knowing that something's there isn't going to make it any easier for you to hit it.
Here's an illustration. Aim for a dartboard with your eyes closed. Even though you know where the dartboard is it's going to be much harder to hit it. The same goes for a hero who finds himself against superior forces and makes himself invisible to get away. The villains still know he's there, but that doesn't make him any easier to hit.
  7. Sorry to be a broken record here, but as I continue playing my mind/TA controller the animation time of pulling out the bow and then pulling out an arrow becomes more and more annoying. My current play style is to focus on my mind powers and occasionally use a TA power, which means that I'm never using two TA powers in a row so every time I use one I have to go through the draw animation since EVERY mind power I have puts the bow away. I'm just thankful there isn't a sheathing animation.
So the point of my huge rant of whining and complaints is that I don't want the draw animation and I'm willing to sacrifice raw power to get rid of it.
  8. The only mission I've done that has this is the one in outbreak with the flower girl.

PROs:[*]She had a back story in the right click info, glad to see she wasn't just a random person thrown into the mission.[*]I've been wanting this for the longest time.

CONs:[*]She was in the last room of the mission so I had already cleared the enemies by the time I got to her. [*]While I was fighting the enemies that were accosting her she just stood there and cheered me on. Could allies begin helping you out once you start attacking the group that was on them?[*]There was a considerable delay between me moving and her moving to catch up. I understand why this delay is there because I don't want the ally obsessively and constantly moving to be as close to me as possible, but I think it should be a bit shorter. I think she should also have had an inherent swift power to help her catch up.
  9. I started a mind/TA controller and found it to be alright. My only complaint is that my character has to pull out the bow, pull out an arrow, pull back the arrow in the string, and finally fire it. My suggestion is for the bow to skip the first pulling out the bow animation and have it simply appear in the left hand during the pulling out the arrow animation. It's kindof unrealistic, but all my mind control powers would put the bow away and that gives an attack speed advantage to defenders with both arrow sets.

You know, I don't really think pets are as much the problem.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I'm gonna have to disagree with you on that one. Controller pet powers are just so much more powerful than their other powers that it becomes a must have. It's not good for a power set to have one amazing power and eight luke-warm ones, and that's the way that many view the controller power sets.

BUT....I'm extremely concerned about the perception that Defenders "aren't needed" and thus "can't find a team" at high levels.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I staunchly disagree with this mentality. Defenders aren't needed, that's the way it should be. No team should HAVE to get a defender to be successful, defenders should just make the battles safer and/or faster, which they do. And as for "can't find a team," Everyone thinks that they can't find a team, everyone has that problem and it's just dumb luck.

edit: One thing that I think should be looked into is the relationship between defenders and controllers. The funny thing is that this relationship has problems because of the relationship between tankers and controllers.
Let's see if I can explain this coherently...It seems to me that a controller's primary is too weak and their secondary is too strong. If someone wants to play a character that stops enemies from hurting their friends, they'll generally choose a tanker instead of a controller since controller holds aren't as reliable as a tanker's taunt. If someone wants to buff or debuff they have the nearly equally plausable options of controller and defender. The main difference is that controllers have pets that will deal damage while they use their secondary, while defenders have slightly more powerful support abilities but have to take a break from that if they want to add damage to the group.
Of course, the issues are much more complicated than this, but I've done my best to give my opinions on this subject. Please keep in mind that I've never played a controller so there's a decent chance I have no idea what I'm talking about.
  12. Are there any mirrors available for this? I tried to download it but no go.
  13. I want man skirts sooo bad. You know...like kilts and the tsoo sorcerer's robe.....not any girly skirts or anything like that..........
  14. Vengeance uses all three of those components as well.
