I know not everyone agrees, but I'm a proponent of large, single rails, so the 41 amps on +12v is good.
120mm fan looks good for cooling and noise level.
Corsair is a known, decent brand.
Nice -
Seems pretty straightforward then
You need something with over 40 amps on the +12v rail(s), and since you're looking to OC your CPU as well, I would say you want something in the 45-50 amp range.
Something like that isn't going to be a budget PSU.
You simply cannot skimp on the PSU and expect to be able to splurge on the rest.
When building systems, my budget priorities are always PSU, RAM, mobo, CPU, GPU.
Edited to add:
I always buy PC Power and Cooling -
Hard to say without knowing your PSU budget.
If you're looking to upgrade your GPU later, it would help to have an idea what you may be considering as well, as that would tell you how much power surplus you need for later. -
EVGA recommends 26 amps at +12v
You're just barely there, so I'd say you're ok, but definitely no headroom for OCing or future upgrades. -
They'll believe total strangers from the interwebz, but they won't believe you, who has played the game for I don't know how long, supposedly without having your computer ruined or being infected by a virus as a result of this game....?
Ok sure, why not.
Here we go then.
It's fine.
Nothing bad will happen to your computer as a result of this game. -
My bad.
I fell for it.
Nope, no definitive definition of exploitive here.
Move along please. -

So consensus is 5% chance of being hit is the difference between Abusive and Smart.
And a further question, This type of blaster can clear a map to achieve the ticket cap in roughly 10-15 minutes usually less.
Is that smart or too fast ?
[/ QUOTE ]
No, the consensus is that, no offence, you are talking out of your nether regions.
You seriously want to compare a specially built character on a specially built map to meow farms?
Really?
This is the argument you're making?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes that is exactly it. Everyone who farms uses a character specially built for it. This is a variant of the blaster I use to speed run positrons. I can do a positron spawned for 2 in less than an hour and half with this.
I know people that have brutes specifically designed to mow through bosses as if they were tissue paper. And by the same token there are brutes that can go through entire spawns of regular foes equally quickly probably a bit faster.
5% is a very thin line.
[/ QUOTE ]
Once again, no offence, but male cattle excrement.
Meow farms allowed anyone to rack up outrageously outsized rewards at minimal risk.
I didn't use a "special" character when I played a meow farm, and the rewards were, frankly, ridiculous. -

But we never got the answer to the question.
Or, rather, we got an answer, but it was not specifically accurate enough to provide enough data to determine completely without a shadow of a doubt a definative answer to the question stated.

Depends, on how you look at it. Math genius with wit. All you really should need to know.

Fixed.
And this.
Funny, smart wimmens makes me weak inna knees....and the head -
Jeebers.
$2k is a lot of laptop.
You should be fine for your stated needs pretty much as a matter of course, but here is something to use as a reference and comparison point
That system will do everything you asked for in your OP. -
Is this to be a built-to-order laptop or an off-the shelf?
in either case, some idea of your budget will allow people to make informed suggestions, as opposed to pie-in-the-sky getthisubershinyonenao!!!.
You will likely not have any choice but to get a dual core CPU, if you want to be able to run the game at "default" graphics well, then steer clear of integrated video chipsets, and try to get at least 3GB of RAM. -

Does anyone know if the NCSoft store accepts Visa gift cards? -
Your GeForce Go 7600 is a more powerful GPU than the 9300M

Fruit??!!
They sent you fruit as a bri....I mean thank you..??
Bah.
Strictly amateur hour.
I'll be sending liquor and chocalates, and I'll be watching for my beta key soon afterwards
I keed, I keed.
That was very cool Targetdummy -
I'm not even sure that you can still find 512MB RAM.....?

<standard why not just build/buy a new system query>
Almost everything here is superior to your current card
That being said, some of them may require more electrical power than your system can handle.
More info on your current system would help? -

Litterly, this is the first time ever that buying the newest thing out there, isn't good.

Pffffftttt.
That's been true for a loooooooooong time now.
Bleeding edge is for suckers. -
Proposed budget?
While I tend to agree with the notion that building yourself is not nearly as daunting as you would think, I also completely sympathize with the desire not to do so.
That being said, giving us a proposed budget will allow us to make better recommendations. -
I'm guessing the Ambient Occlusion is Vista only, as I am running the 185s on XP, and I see no options for it in thr Control Panel
-
I believe that's because the GF GT 120 is actually taking up the PCI-E slot.
It would need to be yanked out and replaced post-haste, as it really is a very poor GPU

Forbin is correct, this is better asked and answered in the tech forum, but here's a short answer.
The more expensive one will run the game better, but both will run the game poorly IMO.
They both have very substandard graphics froma gaming standpoint, but the Gateway has the better CPU. -
You run with graphical settings turned up pretty high, but your screen resolution is not terribly strenous, which is hopeful.
IMO, a graphics card upgrade would be helpful, however without knowing more detailed specs on your power supply, specifically the amperage available at +12v, it's nearly impossible to make a good suggestion.
That being said, a $500 budget is quite substantial for just an "upgrade"
That could easily buy a quality PSU and high-end videocard; the question is, do you really want to go that far seeing as you could build a complete new system for around $600?
Do a search for posts by FatherXmas (or maybe he will be summoned by the use of his name) and take a look at the links in his signature.
The $600 rig may be right up your alley -

Would I be able to achieve that just by upgrading my graphics card or do I need a whole new PC?
[/ QUOTE ]
In order to answer this, we would need some information about your motherboard (for sure) and power supply (would be helpful). Can you advise the exact make and model of the computer (assuming it's not custom-built)?
[/ QUOTE ]
We'd also need to know what settings you currently use in-game.
You say you want steady 30FPS, but is that with graphics set to fair-to-middling, or all-eyecandy-cranked-to-11?
