Getting a new computer...
Is this to be a built-to-order laptop or an off-the shelf?
in either case, some idea of your budget will allow people to make informed suggestions, as opposed to pie-in-the-sky getthisubershinyonenao!!!.
You will likely not have any choice but to get a dual core CPU, if you want to be able to run the game at "default" graphics well, then steer clear of integrated video chipsets, and try to get at least 3GB of RAM.

Thank you.
I suppose the budget is up to about $2,000 for the whole thing. I wish I could give a clear answer. But it should be built-to-order, I know that much.
Jeebers.
$2k is a lot of laptop.
You should be fine for your stated needs pretty much as a matter of course, but here is something to use as a reference and comparison point
That system will do everything you asked for in your OP.
The biggest thing is going to be the video card. You *need* one w/ dedicated memory and of a fairly recent chipset. Do not get anything that has an integrated/shared memory video card. Even if they are touted as an nvidia or ati 3d accelerator, you will be sadly disappointed w/ the performance.
This would be a very nice machine: Nice laptop!
Even better!
And finally: Heck yeah! A 1080P laptop!

It's finally time for a new computer! But I'm a little clueless as to what type of video card, memory, etc and was hoping for some direction. I would have looked at system requirements, but there seem to be some ramifications with Vista...? To help, here is what I want:
-It will be laptop (most likely with Vista)
-I want to be able to run BOTH CoH and CoV at default graphics (and run them well)
-And I'm not filthy rich, so it can't be some sort of super computer
With that in mind, suggestions on video cards, memory, etc?
