  1. Having been a member of the PK for almost 7 years in the main and sub-teams I am sad to see the group closing its doors. Though I am hoping the "reboot" version will do well and maybe some of us who are current players are allowed to join in with new characters. Perhaps it will be a shot in the arm. Everything is up in the air and unknown. So this could be a good thing. *raises glass and toasts* Here is to hoping for the future.
  2. I ate down a plate of ribs with sauce that could cause fire to shoot out a persons' ears in honor of everyone. Wish I could have been there.
  3. Well after my planning on being at this, it looks to be a no go for me. My family seems to think I want to go out for a birthday dinner or something. I mean really, free food at Famous Dave's or being online. . .hard decision right?
  4. Empyreal's original costume when the servers went live.
then switched to the following suit and she has not changed the look in six years. . .
  5. I should be able to attend this Saturday, unless I am dragged out to my mother in laws

I am going with your initial question here.

There are several factors as to when I will report a person for an RP "rules" violation.

Take for example a certain SG that is still on the server on blue side yet they really should ship over to red. One of the new people to my own SG at the time got into an RP with them over in Atlas Park. They pretended to "capture" her and take her to their base. The idea was for my group to go in and rescue her after their team leader sent me a tell asking if this scenario was all right with me. (This was before AE) I was fine with it at first.

However what I proceeded to "hear" via broadcast chat within that base was enough for me to put a note into the GM's. They proceeded to graphically violate the new SG member's character. It angered me to the point of telling the opposing SG's team leader to either quit with what they were trying to RP or be reported. Instead he and his team decided making fun of "The old timer, stick in the mud" and other words not fit for print would be much more fun, along with graphically violating the violating the captured character.

Their "excuse" was they were RPing "exactly" what would happen in RL to a person if they were captured like that. My response was it is disgusting in RL and does not need to be done in a game ment for all ages. At that point I told the player that all of this was happening to to drop out of character and leave the base. Which she did and thanked me afterwords for helping her. Since the SG leader would not see reason I hit them with an ignore after they took things to a personal level via tells.

Which brings me to flaming tells. If a person wants to get into a fight via tells over something trivial, I warn them. I have a three strike policy. ON the third go round the ignore goes into place and you will have to communicate with me via one of the sites I am on.

Another thing is people who just do not understand, no matter how much I or team members try to teach them to RP they just do not "get it". I am always happy and willing to teach people to RP. I consider the 20-30days trial period on my teams to be a learning time and by the end of it you will have picked up the very basics of roleplaying. Yet, I have come across a few people in my time that just do not understand and get into fights then say its RP. This will guarantee you being kicked from supergroups and word of mouth travels fast.

The ones that really scare me though, are the ones who can not separate the fantasy from the reality. I have had to toss a few players for that because it became a stalking situation on team members. Having encountered the same situations in another game to the point of changing account names and erasing every character I had ever made I know what it is like to be stalked by someone who thinks your character is you. That is one situation where my claws come out. I notified the GM's as to what was happening. When player did something again he was reported and removed from the supergroup. His excuse "I was RPing" did not work.

Even if everyone only knows each other via looking at characters on a screen and being on a web board with them. It does not excuse behavior that would violate the ones own personal laws of ethics outside of the box. My advice to everyone is to think really hard on what actions you are doing and not just reacting to a situation.

I am sorry for being long winded but I just want everyone to be safe and have fun.
  7. I wish I could attend. Empyreal gets lonely for people. However myself as her player, has to attend the annual Fright Town Picnic and impromptu baseball game. Where I learn literally what my plans are for September-October
  8. Thanks Maus.

With any luck more people will want to come back on the 8th and want to run for office. The entry deadline for those campaigning is August 11th, when I put up the ballot.

Hi Shaw. I rarely post on the boards here.
  9. On August 8th we will be adding both old and new members back into the United Sentinels of America super group. Please contact @KidA/@Gaia1 to be added to the team and the new OOC channel called USofA Radio.

We are also looking for officers to fill two positions. If you are a supergroup member who is returning to the team we are holding elections. To put your name on the ballot as to "Why I would like to be an officer for the USofA" please post a little campaign blurb at the web site at http://usofa.guildportal.com

There is also a team meeting scheduled. Again please see our website at http://usofa.guildportal.com for all of the latest news and information regarding the team.

    Thanks for your time!
  10. Every now and then, over the last couple of years, something opens up called The Cathedral of Pain. Will this ever be intergrated into the game? What is the story behind it?

Will the Positron taskforce ever be revamped to have an actual plotline instead of "Meet Villain Group X and smack them down" run a long ways back, "Meet Villain Group Y and smack them down" run a long ways again, "Meet Villain Group Z and smack them down." Anyways I think you get my point on this. I know there are a lot of people both, new and old players, that want to do Positron taskforce but for what it is plus the way it is arranged is a big turn off. Is there a story behind the task force the way it is currently?

Villains like volcano bases. Will there ever be any sets with a volcano motif? In particular if the Council uses a volcano, why do they use it? Just because it looks cool and intimidating? Or is it for some other nefarious purpose besides building a giant robot that never climbs out of the base?

How come there are not giant apes, ants or lizards that attack the city? I mean we have alien and zombie invasions should we not have giant mutated wildlife besides Lusca?

Why are there not gas stations or convenience stores being robbed? Along the same lines why are there not any gas stations or city buses? We have cars and trucks driving around, where do they get fueled up?
  11. Out of curiosity The Damsel of Distress. Empyreal. and The Crimson Fist, the heroes mentioned by Buck Salinger over in Croatoa, who were they? Were they just random names pulled out of a hat or do they have actual back stories?
  12. Again thank you to the haters out there. I enjoy your letters. I enjoy erasing your letters. In fact, the next person who harasses me is going to get a letter themselves. With a notice about their harassment. So think about.

As I said I am not going to handle this out in public or put anything up for the trolls to read. The character is gone. End of story. I've taken the actual advice that the rational people here have given. If you want to continue to hate on myself, my friends or my characters I will look at you each sadly and walk away.

Thank you to those who have been a voice of reason here. I appreciate it.

How is this a player question?

    [/ QUOTE ]

The player in question is doing okay. I have to wait till Tuesday to hear back. The character was removed from the server.

On that note, I would like to thank all the haters out there that stuffed my e-mail box full of hate mail. Also the jerk that came in and wrote ugly comments on my virtueverse page. You must be feeling really empowered now. All items have been erased.

As for the "proof in pictures" of my being talked to there are none. I did not think to take any at the time due to the fact I was so angry. I am waiting to hear back in PRIVATE e-mail as to what was done with my character. I WILL NOT be posting anything since it is a PRIVATE matter and would get me kicked off the boards.
  14. That picture on the bio is about four years old and the virtueverse page has been up for a long time. I haven't done anything with page for awhile except put in certain relevent events in his life. The character changed to having a cape and some other minor changes so he would not be exact. The character was INFLUENCED BY and NOT Mar-vell

As for the biography itself is original. Marvel was never a prince from an evil empire run by his family. He was not distilled down to component energy to be a battery for a starship after inciting an intergalactic rebellion. He never met a girl in Ireland and plucked the idea on how Earthlings looked from her mind. He never went on the run when his family sent people to retrieve him, helped a media mogul as a bodyguard, became a member of the LoT or the PK:HB, inherited a large fortune from a late employer. And lastly he did not have a wife named Liberty Girl in which they held a large wedding about four years ago on the Virtue server attended by a large amount of people.

And I'll not be publishing any letters. All letters are between myself and the GM's so do not expect to see any here. As it is the character was erased last night after I went offline. So I hope the troll who generic'd me is happy, they won.

I do not know what I did to you to make you so angry to the point of wanting me removed permanently. I have been with this game for technically six years if you count the old pre-beta boards. My character has been around for that long too. He had even won in game costume contests with GM's standing right there.

The basic nature of the costume should be looked at since it is a relatively standard super hero suit. Unless its now a crime to make costumes with underwear on the outside and tights for male characters. Red and blue combinations are a common color scheme on a lot of characters.

My thanks everyone who turned out in support last night in Atlas.
