First, can you get a paypal account? If so, you can pay with that.

If not, can you find a store that sells Visa or Mastercard Gift Cards? If so, buy one and put the cash into it for that amount, and use the gift card.

The spawned snowmen (and the trick or treat mobs) should be like the Rikti or Zombies during invasions, they always con same level to you. So if you're a 50 who wants to protect Atlas Park from snowmen, you can...and both get rewards for it and not spawn extras that are an unusual risk for other heroes in the zone.

For the presents badge...first, cut the requirements way back. The devs got it right with the Zombie Apocalypse, event badges should be easy to get. And make it "x presents" not "x nice presents" and give everyone on the team credit (maybe only give the team credit if they kill the spawns).

But you don't have access to Pay With Paypal while you have a billing system set up.

They didn't, but I did. To pay with paypal (with this deal or not) you have to cancel your current payment. You can then set it up the billing again.

its the Windows code, in a standard mac ".app" Since .app files are really folders, you just have to look inside, you can even find the Windows .exe files in there... it has the same folder structure there as the normal Windows client, and should be able to do it exactly the same as you would on Windows (there is fake C drive inside the file under the transgaming folder)

Alternatively, your home directory is mapped to the "D:" drive, so you can put your binds in your home directory and load them from there.

They'll be available separately and will work on your PC.

You should pay rent within a day or so of when it's due. Yes, there are those who will say pay two weeks after the due date, but I find it easier to get within a day or so of the due date, and that has worked.

If you want to use Paypal...turn off any current billing, make a payment with paypal now. Your expiration time will then be extended to 7 or 14 months (depending on which option you choose), you will immediately be charged for the 6/12 months. This Paypal billing will not renew (and when it's next time to fill it up, the offer will presumably be gone).

For credit card billing...click on the plan now. You will not be charged now, but when your current time runs out, you will be charged for 6 or 12 months, and receive 7 or 14 months at that time. It looks like it's ongoing, so 7 or 14 months after that, you get the deal again (but looks could be deceiving there).

Now, you may be able to "buy time now" with a credit card too, just like with Paypal, without having recurring payments set up.

The developers aren't firing off zombie invasions, those are player-triggered. But it would be cool if, during the winter event, Santa Claus (willpower/claws mastermind with cold blast attacks) and his elves popped up to fight off the zombies or Rikti invasion.

My feedback on the Winter Event:

(1) Add me to the list of those with middle-aged (moving towards late-middle-aged) without the reflexes to get badges on the ski slopes. Still, I'm not saying that the badges are bad for those who can get it, though I might really extend the bronze times so that you basically get them for effort.

(2) Please, please, please, please, PLEASE give snowmen the "always con to your level", both the snowmen that pop out of presents and the ones that the WinterLord GM throws at people...A 50 and a 10th level can fight a WinterLord together with each dealing with him as though it's there level, but if the WinterLord throws a snowman at the 50, the 10th level is about ready to die. This will solve the issue of "50th level hero opening boxes in Atlas and leaving behind a 6th level snowman spawn for the passing 2nd level" (This also applies to the trick or treat foes during the Halloween event.)

Also, could Snowmen have a chance of dropping a candy cane?

(2) Please have WinterLords spawn the way that Eochai spawns during the Halloween event instead of popping out of boxes. Let big teams pop boxes for regular snowmen, and don't require box popping for those that want to hunt the GMs.

(3) The ratio of naughty-to-nice is way out of whack. It may have made sense to get the snowman badge before the Baby New Year mission was added, but now, the easy way to get that badge is in the mission, not through opening presents. Please make it more like 80% chance of nice...being heroes, we're automatically nice, and even the villains help save the world from the Rikti or time meddling by the 5th or stopping time with the kidnap of Baby New Year.

(4) For 2009, please add another mission (Hopefully not involving Baby New Year). Don't replace the Baby New Year mission, I enjoy it, but I'd at least like something to do. To help with hero badge hunters, maybe something with the cold demons (who would be quite at home in the wintery croatoa mission).

Nope, characters are not deleted here. In some circumstances, people can have their characters lose their names, but I think that's only low-level characters.

Nope, you have to cancel your billing system to add it with Paypal.

Or, you can switch to it now with your credit card, and when it's time to renew for you, you'll get 14 months for the price of 12, no matter when it's time to renew. You have to sign up before January 25th, but it doesn't have to take place now.

The closed Mac server is a completely different server than the test server, and the Mac server is defunct now that we're in open beta.

Novem, it's possible that this date represents a change. And maybe even a last minute change so no notice was possible. And so if this announcement had been "Due to circumstances, we had to move the freespec to December 17th, our apologies for the short notice" there might have been some grumbling but at least, oh well, stuff happens.

Instead, we got a new announcement "freespec on December 17th" as though the first announcement never happened, and only when people asked was there any acknowledgement that another date had been presented and just "Positron was wrong".

When Rednames make definitive statements, it's assumed that we should be able to rely on them. If those statements are not reliable due to an encounter with reality, at best we should be told as early as possible that they changed and at minimum there should be some recognition that they have changed.

There are two issues involved here. One is the freespec involved, which for most people is a lesser issue, but it can be. As I said earlier, part of the answer may be to just do away with the separation of freespec/respec and treat freespecs as normal respecs so they stack (and you can do any type of respec with /respec).

But the bigger issue is the communication. The breakdown in communication, and the way the breakdown was handled. The first may be unavoidable, the latter could and should be better.

You should download the new beta. Definitely points to a different server, and far safer to just let it do the update overnight than try to cobble things together to fix it.

Actually, I suspect Snow Globe would just like to be able to rely on statements by NCNC's head designer. If that statement turned out to be a mistake, and Ex Libris had followed up a day or so later with "Oops, Posi was wrong, the freespec grant will take place earlier than that, and we won't be able to give much warning before it happens so you should use them now", people could have adapted.

But instead, on the 5th, we were told "don't worry, no rush, you have until the 21st". And that's the information we had until the 15th, when we were told "You have until the morning of the 17th".

Is it the worst thing to happen in game? Nope. But does that mean that we should ignore everything Posi has to say in the future? If he says "this will happen" we should assume it's the same as if I said it?

Maybe it's time to stop granting freespecs and start granting respecs. Do away with the artifical distinction between granted and given respecs. Let all respecs be done with just /respec. Nobody's complaining about the lack of knowledge of the icon tokens, because they stack, so it makes no difference when they are granted.

But please don't dismiss it all about "whiners" and "hey, it's free". We were told by the lead designer, whose statements should be most reliable, "This is what will happen". And it didn't happen. And we weren't told it wouldn't happen until the last minute. That's not good for the game.

Big hint for those who want a windowed mode...like Spore and other Transgaming-converted apps, you can press command-return and have it go from full-screen mode to windowed. You have to do it every time you launch (it doesn't remember that you preferred windowed mode) but it is available.

Open beta Now

First, was it intended to remove the XP and Influence bonus for finishing a story arc, as well as replacing the DO/SO choice screen with automatic merit drops? If it was not intended, please fix this, those bonuses can make a big difference over a character's career. If it was intended, please reconsider, same reason.

Second...my scrapper is enjoying the merits he gets for doing his story arcs. My controller isn't, because she doesn't get her story arcs done, since she doesn't solo. There needs to be some way to address this.

Third...I presume you are tracking these, but I can't imagine people are spending much of their merits on random rolls from the TF pool. There is so much utter bovine droppings in the pool, the chance of getting what you want is meaningless. A suggestion...add more expensive random rolls where you get to pick the category at least. For example, "Melee damage" or "Healing". That way, people can still pick a random recipe, but at least know they are getting a recipe they will find useful.

Last...I still think that the value of 2 merits for the Eden trial is absolutely insane. And I fear the first round of "adjustments" as the speed runners and farmers have moved into other TFs. I have been in the game since launch, and I have NEVER run an Eden trial in 10 minutes. I got into one "speeden" where we got through the holes in the walls...and that was still more than 10 minutes.
