I feel evidence and consensus never, ever overlap. Evidence is in the fact, not in what people feel about those facts.
[/ QUOTE ]
Do you know how ridiculous the above statement is? Obviously, if people learn to believe that the facts are true, then the consensus will be based on factual evidence. As an example, people once believed that the world was flat. Then, some people discovered it was round and told other people that they had facts to support that it was round. Now, there is a consensus that the world is round, which it is.
Right now, you appear ignorant, arguing that the world is flat despite the fact that some of us know it to be round. Because your "facts" tell you that the world is flat.

P.S. TerpMan...you seem to hate me

I know you're pretty full of yourself and it's hard to believe that I would post in a thread for reasons other than "stalking" you, but believe it or not I've been posting since long before you graced us with your presence. I've seen few posters as ignorant and disrespectful as yourself. I'll give you a tip though, 95% of my posts are in the pvp general forum, so I'm easily avoided (Unless you happen to follow me to another thread and turn that into a flame war also, as you have done in the past)
Put me back on ignore if you don't want to see me making fun of the rubbish that spews from your keyboard in this thread.
Like others, I just think you should have a clue what you're talking about before you tell everyone else that they're wrong.
There's a post from PsyPunk that sums up your "stance" very nicely. The real reason you chose to ignore his post is because he "hit the nail on the head" as far as how you completely ignore all legitimate arguements in favor of completely twisting around the words of others to argue insignificant points about nothing.
You appear to be attempting to hone your skills as a Troll and nothing more.

an intellectual stance

HAHAHHAHAHAH. That's what this em/regen stalker thinks he's doing? Taking an "intellectual" stance. Hilarious.

I'm not acting like that

Stop talking about my EM Stalker. There is nobody standing behind the curtain. Please focus your attention on the big screen where you will clearly see that Hurricane is overpowered.
On a serious note, pulling numbers out of my Magic Hat #9 I'm going to guess that for every 1 stalker that gets "pinned to a wall" by a hurricane user, there are 10 hurricane users who get killed by stalkers. -

I don't want Stormers to be useless, sitting ducks.

Yet you requested a nerf to a power you describe as the "only power they have that even mildly intimidated you"?
[ QUOTE ]
Defenders and Dominators in particular really get the shaft in many ways, and that's not conducive to fun play.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yet you, an EM/regen stalker, cry for nerfs to defender sets?
[ QUOTE ]
I'd be happy with anything that didn't demand certain character builds had to go to pretty extreme lengths simply to meaningfully affect them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Isn't that a funny quote coming from a stalker?
[ QUOTE ]
I've tried these things and succeeded, but I also feel I'm an above average player in terms of reflexes, capability, and computer processing speed. I am not saying, nor have ever said, Hurricane was an obstacle that could not be overcome. I just didn't feel like the specifics it took to overcome it's repel feature were in line with any other power in the game. It was an odd ball in my eyes, and not in a good way. If there were many more powers that required similar specifics to reasonably and reliably combat, I may have felt differently
[/ QUOTE ]
Interpretations: "I can kill storm users while they have hurricane up, but that's simply because I'm more skilled than most people. That being said, they were still an inconvenience on the battle field, and take a disproportionately long time to kill compared to everyone else who drops within seconds."
[ QUOTE ]
if my posting style irritates you, I'd rather abstain than piss you off.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually, it is one of the worst "posting styles" I've seen on these forums. You're deliberately disrespectful and antagonistic, and then pretend as though you don't mean to be. -
Since Hurricane is so easily countered by any AT that can fight at range, and the nerf calls didn't appear to be coming from heroes who found themselves helpless against Hurricane in Warburg, I have to assume that most of the nerf calls came from Stalkers and Brutes. Since the pvp stalker population is so much larger than the pvp brute population, I'll draw the conclusion that the most complaints about hurricane came from stalkers, and more specifically those without ranged attacks.
Unfortunately, with Energy Melee being widely known as one of the most damaging primaries for an AT that has the highest kill/death ratio (by a ridiculous margin), the above group amounts to a significantly large population of complaining people.
And since EM stalkers can kill just about anything in under 10 seconds, it's very frustrating for them not to be able kill a hurricane user on their first pass.
Maybe I misunderstood a previous post from the devs, or they've just decided to go in a different direction than I was expecting. They said that stalkers kill/death ratio was significantly higher than any other AT in the pvp zones (or something to that effect), so I kinda figured they would be making moves to lower that kill/death ratio. Instead they significantly nerf a power that's primary use in pvp zones is stalker protection. A nerf that will lead to fewer stormers in pvp zones using the now reduced effectiveness Hurricane power, and another increase for the stalker kill/death ratio .
Is it not completely obvious why some stalkers are so happy about this change or felt it was "needed"?

That avatar gives me a new perspective. Now, I'd like to play him in a game of chess...
Fun stuff. -
Good guide, better than most. I think Dominators who read this are less likely to suck.
Good work -
Big Thanks to WeirdBeard for the response! We appreciate it.

I see that they haven't. That's mildly irritating. Not that rep means anything in the grand scheme of things.
My rep just dropped from 80 to 1. All I did was go from Bloody Bay to buy some BF, and then return to Bloody Bay. I know you don't lose it every time you zone, but all 3 times this characters rep has reset it's been associated with leaving the zone and returning. -
Just curious if anyone knows if they've fixed reputation so that it doesn't reset back to zero.
Thanks for any input -
I think this is funny because we have 3 gamers in my house and 3 gaming computers. At any random moment in the day when all 3 of us are home, you'll likely find one person playing COH, one on WoW, and one on Guild Wars.
The Guild Wars guy introduced the two of us to CoH before moving on to WoW, and later to GW.
One recently moved from CoH to WoW.
I remain hooked on CoH. -
The Behemoth's used to be worth "Mad xp" but because people were exploiting it by just fighting the behemoth's a change was made so they no longer give xp.
At least, that's my understanding. -
This really gets my goat (an expression I've never used)
Why? Because it has a STRONG effect on my enjoyment of....24???
I get home at 9:30 and I expect that my roommate's gonig to give me an in depth recount of what happened in the first 30 minutes (They don't make VCR's where I'm from). He's done this for a few seasons now.
Last night? No recap of the first half hour : (
Why? Because roommate was participating in Hami raid that takes precedence over his favorite show.
Are you kidding me? Missing the first half of 24 is unthinkable.
But alas..with these changes it looks like my roommate will be fighting Hammi at every opportunity, and I'll likely never get hear what happens in the first 30 minutes of 24 again!
What a shame. Please dev's don't hurt me by forcing my roommate to fight hami over and over again just so he can compete in PvP.
Please..... -
I think this post by Statesman is awesome!!! Just the fact that this option will exist in PVP is awesome.
There was way too much talk/speculation about people just flying away endlessly from an enemy who can't follow into the air.
This whole thing just makes my day!! -
I have to say that I think Paragon City is better off without the wolf herding exploit.
Will other exploits be found? Certainly. Can other missions be farmed for great xp? Certainly.
Like someone said "it's nice to go do laundry and come back and have gained a few levels" but that's not really the way COH is supposed to be "Played".
Of course, I picked up my wolf mission a day or two before the timer....hmmmmm
hhahahahaha Actually, getting the mission blew my mind : ) I picked it up accidentally as I was working through my AV missions. I was like "The great wolves mission." and I farmed it a couple of times on my own (Spines/Regen isn't a tank, but can certainly get some good xp farming this mission with smaller herds), and said "Well, I don't want to complete this one just yet. I mean it's what all the fuss is about, but I don't want to farm it. hmmmm. What to do? WHat to do?" So, I created a new character and haven't played with Terp Man since...... -
I recently started a Radiation/Psionics Defender, and I found this information quite helpful.
Thank you for the excellent post Sir!!
Rad/Psy must not be that popular. I don't see many posts about that combination.
