Fire has stackable toxic res in its heal and a damage aura, so I might consider that.
I realize I'm a bit biased, but it seems to me that Katana or Broadsword paired with Regen will give you a high level of layered mitigation on the cheap. It won't benefit as well from set bonuses, I think, but I think that's going to be a significant problem everywhere. Also, Regen has toxic res in its heal, and +Health.

No, no. See, it's unquestioned questions. Questions that no one has questioned yet, not questions that haven't been asked. See the difference?

Yeah, I dig. I just... well, I think that the trend among the forums is to 'predict' something big, huge, and revolutionary will happen, and that everything we knew from the past will be swept to the sides as we cry in wonder at these new divine gifts. Except that, as far as I can see, none of them ever really has, ya know?

So, I'm not saying you're wrong, that you aren't on to something, or that it's completely impossible things will be shaken up a bit. I'm just saying history, as I recall it, kinda says it won't.

A pretty good example of this in game right now is Controllers and defenders, while defenders are by far the better buffers/debuffers they have a secondary that does only modest damage and little else.
Controllers primary purpose is..control and in some case the control set has the ability to inflict signifigant damage, their secondary is buffing/debuff, their effectiveness in doing that task may not be as great as defenders but its still good enough to be of considerable use.
As a counter example, teams tend to prefer a Tank and a Blaster over two Scrappers.

According to ParagonWiki, she's in three missions. That said, they don't even know what her secondary power is, and she's got absolute zilch for backstory. Canon Fodder.

Also: Finish yer damn Ghost Widow story, Blue. I'm comin' down an' I needs mah fix.

EDIT: Tom Cruise eloquently elaborates on my position. Warning: Bad words are said.

Bizarre. Your prose is... reminiscent of them, to say the least.

And very interesting. I await more.
  8. Have you ever read any of the Kushiel's Legacy books?
  9. 28/70

Some, I figure I should have known. The other 40 I wasn't ever going to get.

My advice if you are seriously considering RP on Virtue, is to find a VG or SG that either has a casual or a more liberal approach to RP. (I'd like to disuade you from joining the "hardcore" RP groups as they tend to engage in ERP more so than the casual RPers and they tend to become wrapped up in all sorts of RP political drama among their rank and file.) and avoid Pocket D RP as much as possible...
I do roleplay. I've been in several RP SGs before, and I'm in a private global dedicated to RP and good teaming. But, I'm not in any SGs right now because I don't really have the time to dedicate to one. My questions stem from curiosity over a place I haven't really visited, but found not terribly bad. Just boring and a bit juvenile. As it happens, it seems my impressions were right.

Pass on the invite. Thanks, though. I'm just curious if the stories are exaggerations, outliers, or a baseline. Have I lucked out, or are most people relating their absolute best stories, but neglecting bunches of times where nothing went down?
  13. Becky the Tarantula. And then, I'd stage Shakespeare renditions.

Rularuu. I've always wanted to indulge my inner munchkin.

Lusca. Sushie Girls, I'm lookin' at you.
  14. Where is this mythical disgusting ERP in the Virtue D? I've heard all sorts of horror stories, but the handful of times I've dropped by the D, the worst thing I ever saw was a group of people /rp Fighting, and all of them trying to win.

I play on a laptop. With an integrated chipset. Not a graphics card, a chipset. If I turn graphics up to around halfway, and I start crashing whenever a Force Fielder walks by. Or when too many people are on screen. Or when it's a long mission. You get my point, this is a weak computer.

When I turn the settings down, though, and am able to run around stably, I notice that Atlas Park isn't exceptionally laggy. It's got people there, sure, but there are easy ways to mitigate that, and the place is quite easy to avoid, or just run through.

    Tier-3: Ranged Shot: Moderate Damage

Tier-4: Poison Tipped Bullet: Single Target: -res, -def (double the values of Melt Armor)

I love the idea...don't perticularly care for you list of powers. :P

But then, I don't care for the idea of a hold/immbolize being in the epic set either.

I'd rather wait for GR to get this epic for Scrappers.

Get the fancy animations, and alot of different ranged options with the Dual Pistols. With maybe one utility power (like Focused Accuracy).
I agree. I would very much like to see Scrappers get a Dual Pistols APP. I just... well, I'd like to take the set because the powers were useful and cool, not just cool. Swapping Ranged Shot down a tier or two would be nice for that.

Meh. Come back when you solo'd a MoSTF.
Sounds like you don't want me coming back...
But that would be some thing to see wouldn't it?
Nah. You keep defying the limits of scrapperly potential, and I'll keep snarking 'cuz... well, I'm sure there's a reason.

On the MoSTF front, a few years ago (Back when we still had old MoG.) a poster asked about soloing it, using temps and inspirations, and anything else they could get their hands on. Consensus stated that if they could get half way through, it'd be an achievement, but I don't recall hearing if it actually happened or not. Feeling lucky?

    Fun with Freaks

It's cool that you wiped out the two spawns that you pulled with a combination of good tactics and skilled playing.

What's TOTALLY FRACKIN' AWESOME though, is that most of both spawns revived on you. Anyone want to run the odds on that happening?

As I said, this started out as an exercise to see how much defense I could get on a blaster. It wasn't supposed to be a play-build until curiosity got the best of me.

But you're right. I have no real attachments to the set bonuses in any of my AoEs, so I might as well frankenslot the bejeezus out of them.

You can replace the proc in Positron's Blast with common IOs to boost recharge (since it has - you guessed it - poor recharge enhancement).
I thought of that as I was falling asleep this afternoon.

Power Boost is +Special. It doesn't really benefit any of your powers except Cryo Freeze Ray. I'd think about dropping it for Hasten.
Hasten would be nice. I like Hasten. Boost Range doesn't seem like it'll be all that useful to me, either. Any suggestions for what to grab instead?

If you can find the slots, I'd try to 2 or 3-slot Stamina.
Yeah, I was a little hazy about that. My recovery looks good on paper, but as I recall, Blasters have wicked end costs on their attacks, no?
