So he wants a ninja that isn't dressed like a ninja? Fine, go with a T-Shirt, jeans, sneakers and write in the bio: I R NEENJA!

What Foo said. Silver age costumes are fairly bright and cheery for the most part, and very simple. Patterns on top and bottom tend to match and so do color schemes. Two main colors with a third as an accent, usually some sort of metallic color like silver, bronze or gold, often on boots, belt or gloves. Sadly, we don't have any good texture choices for boots or gloves that also fit the silver age theme. The Jeweled belt is a pretty good choice and so are some of the metallic tech belts. Ampules can really work on a militaristic character. Don't forget about hat options either. No matter what you do to the body, if you add a Beret it automatically conjures up images of the military.

Check out that link to Saturn Girl, though. You can add modern belts and retain the Silver Age feel. The key is in making the additions accents, and not the costume's focus. Heck, look at Batman. Even with modern boots and belt, he's still very old-school.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh, I agree. I was just going with more general design concepts though. Sometimes we nerds can over explain things.

It's the 88 yds to the contact standing right next to me. It does make it hard to find him if you didn't know where he was to begin with. But I'm enjoying listening to what everyone else is saying.

That's just what he wants us to think! NEMESIS PLOT!

That's all I can think of right now. I'm running on very little sleep and just got off a 12 hour shift, so this is all stream of thought right now. Maybe more later. But, probably not.

Yeah, never realized that. The tailor in IP is right next to the Kings Row exit. Much easier than sneaking through Steel Canyon.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Very true. I discovered this a while back and try to tell anyone I see trying to sneak to the Steel Canyon Icon Shop.

I just went with old fashioned, Home-Made animation!

    Here's my try.

    Blue Steel Avatar Animation

    [/ QUOTE ]

I hate to critique when you didn't ask for it, but it seems a bit long. I was thinking that if you cut out the sweep across the legs and started the upswing at the belt and then added an extra frame or two on the face before switching over to the PPD symbol it would work better. Just my $.02, though.

I love the art style, but find it visually overstimulating, not to mention confusing. Why is he kicking a fruit salad jello all over the sidewalk? And why is the ghost of Marlon Brando yelling at him all the time? These are not questions I should be asking myself when I casually glance at somebody's avatar.

    L3rn to Blue Steel.

    Clockwork soccer FTW.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Believe it or don't, but I actually did my research before I posted and figured out that it was the King's head being kicked. (I still don't understand the ghost head though. Mental attacks?)

My point was that an avatar should not require research to understand.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I wouldn't say it required research. It's common knowledge Blue Steel beat the carp outta ol' CWK, and thats the reason he's reduced to a brain in a jar.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I didn't know that. Must not be all that common.

    Some sketchings

Wulfie, do you play Planetside at all? Some of those look like they'd fit into that game world really well. Very well done!

The only reason I don't have any Foo Arts is because The Foo hasn't drawn any yet.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Toss a gold bar or a stack of cash his way, and that will be remedied, I'm sure.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I have neither. But if The Foo was really so concerned with our welfare, he'd set up a welfare arts program for those of us who can't throw money at our problems. The Foo doesn't care about the people! He's just another greedy corporate big-wig! Down with The Foo!

I need an Avatar and I want a unique fan made Avatar. So that every time I see that Avatar I'm reminded why I do my Job, because you guys make this game great.

I'll pick my favorite submission March 31st.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Too bad you're looking for an avatar and not a full-out poster. If you were looking for a portrait, I'd be all over this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Pssst, hey Blue, jump on this opportunity..... like now lol and as a bonus you could prolly make a avatar cropped from the poster and such.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    This.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The other thing.

Why not just do up his shield in Poser and then shrink it down to avatar size? Then give me credit for it...

Or you can scratch the last part.

    Or not.
  15. I'm a big fan of the shy girl stance. But then, I don't have a girlfriend right now if you know what I mean. *wink wink nudge nudge*

    Costume Help

Use the top from the first one with the skirt and design from the other two and matching tights. Keep the color scheme from the first one as well.

Do you really want to know.
    Hint: It´s kind of messy.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'm sure it is. But, on the other hand, it would provide one of the primary ingredients for Baby Fondue.

PS- Sorry Alex, I just can't help myself. But, I promise not to eat your baby.
  19. Errm...how are you going to fit the babies through those tiny holes?
  20. I had a baby sale once. But the Feds showed up. I barely escaped with my life.

Thanks all for the tips. I will do my absolute best to improve on the grammar a bit as well as the spelling. Guess I have never gotten real critiques before. Working on Milk_Weasel's character story right now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

No worries. I think we're all just glad that you're taking the critiques and learning from them instead of whining about how the grammar and spelling nazis are ruining your day.
  22. You're welcome. I'm always happy to help.
