  1. I must say, a good case has been made for the sleeps... I think I'll put them in the alt build so I can check out the detoggle and enemy softening effects.
  2. LSK,
I play on Pinnacle. Most folks are consumed with iTrials and DFBs, so getting a TF up and running takes a while.
  3. Since I am currently somewhere between level 32-35, I thought putting together a generic IO build (with a couple set IOs) for level 35 would help me get on the right path to effective tanking with Stone/Ice Melee.

And a sidebar question: Is there any difference between a Proc IO at level 35 and level 50? They seem to have the same %chance to occur and same %buff (+End, Rech, Heal, etc...) regardless of level.
  4. I found a Stone/Ink guide, but it is from I7. Other than the Fitness Pool, what has changed? Is this guide useful anymore? http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=115343

An Ice Melee guide can be found at http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=186523 and the Stone primary guides are old (I12 or older)

Justaris, I had no clue what I should be slotting for, so I fell back on +ACC and End Recovery since (1) the Stone primary seems to be so End heavy, (2) I want everything to hit since there aren't that many punchvoke attacks in the build. If my philosophy goes against the actual utility of Stone/Ice, please correct me.

Regarding Hasten: It seemed skippable, I don't plan on being in Granite all the time, just when it is needed (that would be boring and there would be no need to take any other armor). If Hasten IS needed, what do I drop in order to pick it up?

Also, I am working on a build that will be mostly generic IOs (my poor man's build while I gather the alignment merits to craft the good stuff), I think a usable generic IO build should probably be my first goal. (Can't get merits if I can't survive/complete missions).
  5. I am not that good at creating builds, but I am trying to create a survivable L50 build for my Stone/Ice tank that I am leveling currently. For conceptual reasons, the Epic Pool will be either Stone or Ice. I am open to discussion of either Epic Pool. I happened to have created this build with stone.

Also, INF is a roadblock currently, so super purple builds won't help me until I can remedy that. (yes, I did include some expensive IOs in my build [LotG +Rech]... no, I can't afford them currently)

Here is the datachunk. I thank anyone who replies in advance for build posts, thoughtful comparisons of Arctic Mastery vs Earth Mastery, or other helpful comments.

  6. When I saw the KB into KD enhancement for the Overwhelming Force set, the first thing I thought about was slotting it into Bonfire! I love Fire Blapping and think this would make Bonfire viable for teaming (w/o angering the tank). I think I will put together a cheap build that I should be (mostly) survivable. Rise of the Phoenix will be in there for when it is not survivable.
  7. Hello all,
I recently came back to the game and am enjoying all the new content (I left just before Going Rogue came out). I have quite a few toons that I am learning how to play again. My Mind Control / Empathy controller was never fun for me before, but now it seems awesome. I do have one issue though... mobs with Mez/Stuns are seriously hampering my fun. I gained 7 levels during 2XP weekend and am now 42.

I created a build using some builds I found in older posts and tweaking power selection based on my preferences. The slotting is a mix of the older builds and new IO sets that have come out since those builds were posted.

A couple of notes before anyone critiques...

    1. I don't plan on ever taking the two sleep powers in Mind Control, they seem useless on a team that is steamrolling through mobs. (If there is a case to be made for these powers, do so, it may help a future knowledge-seeker...but they don't mesh with my play style)

    2. I can't afford the super purple builds. They can be used for reference, but realistic builds would be more helpful.

    /Invulnerability

This is great information. Anyone have input regarding MA/Invul builds? Don't want to hijack this thread for MA/Invul builds and advice, so I created a MA/Invul specific thread.

    MA/Invul

Hijacking this very old thread since it shows up as one of the top five hits on Google every time I query anything related to "MA/Invul"...

With all of the changes to the game in the last couple of years, it would seem that suggested builds be created that take into account these changes. Anyone have a survivable build currently in use?

Also, check out my original request at:

  10. Hello all,

I have a conceptual Martial Arts / Invul hero that I am leveling. Right now I am in need of solid build to work from. My conceptual limits for the primary build are that SJ will be the travel power.
Feel free to post the super purple (dream) build to show me what this toon can be capable of, but mainly looking for a solid build that I won't cost me my first born child.

Orbiting Death is a good attack. It does pretty good damage when slotted well, thing is though. It generates way too much aggro in large teams.

[/ QUOTE ]There is NO such thing as too much aggro... Just ask any Fire/Fire Blanker (That's right, I said it.)
