Whatever, just don't add any archery to my martial arts please.
-
Yeah, I distinctly recall... um... Well I'm certain we can all remember... oh, wait... Ok, I give up. Which quick fixes have lingered and become "working as intendeds"?

But there is nothing stopping MA from being a blaster secondary AS IS right now, except for Confront. There is no single power in the set (besides Confront) which couldn't fit in a blaster secondary. Even if no OTHER blaster secondary would be equally melee focused, it doesn't mean that MA couldn't be that melee-focused set.
If we absolutely necessarily have to change things (which we don't), then we should at least try to stay close to the original MA theme of unarmed combat, not adding a weapon for no good reason. I could go with having web grenades, caltrops, smoke grenades and stealth as a "natural" form of Devices with some melee attacks, but I don't really think that it's necessary.
Regardless of what the other blaster secondaries are like. -
Please keep powersets thematically consistent. Martial Arts doesn't need anything from other powersets to "fill it out". With the exception of Confront it could be a blaster secondary already. Confront could most easily be replaced with a stealth power, for which there is precedent in other sets.

Well they could at least let women smoke cigars. Or guys to have actual shirts that go on top of their skin. Or to have fuzzy animals on their shoulders. Ok, never mind that last one, that one's stupid even for the ladies.
-
Yes, it's for all those things and more.

What the heck are you gibbering about? Can you translate that from crazy rabbit to english?
-
But there is a "random" button already. Clearly the search interface isn't as obvious as it has to be. Of course it would be nice if the random arcs that popped up weren't 95% farms or abandoned unplayable arcs or test arcs, as well. I.e. the database should be cleaned out every now and then, somehow.

Quote:It would make 1-star griefing harder to accomplish. It would require a whole supergroup of griefers to make a real impact, and then they would be easy to track down and ban/punish.I agree with the problem. I'm not sure about the solution. Tweaking the numbers doesn't seem likely to matter.
Quote:Stopping people from 1 starring an unplayable arc isn't helpful.
Quote:Marking things as stale might be reasonable, though I'm not sure a flag based on republishing is a great idea.
Quote:I think the whole search and rating thing is fundamentally problematic and needs a serious overhaul. I know it would be a ton of work, but I think it would be great to have features like:
* bookmarks, so I can easily find favorite missions
* Ability to share my list of favorites, possibly along with my comments on those favorites.
* "people who liked this also liked..." feature
* the initial list of missions should always be random
* it should be easier to find missions which are truly level appropriate
These ideas and many others have been posted many times, starting in beta before the MA was even released. I sincerely hope that it is something they are working on, but I have no grounds for hope. -
"Skin" as a separate all-encompassing costume piece of its own with its own color and patterns, which would show through everywhere we see "skin" today.

I agree with Wrong Number about most things concerning the stars and search engine. I made a post about it in the other MA forum (Search Engine to the Stars) which contains most of what I've got to say on the subject.

My fourth VEAT arc is basically finished. I have however run into a problem of it not being quite villainous enough. A friend of mine gave it 4 stars and only because he really liked the last two missions. That's not something I would want to expose the rest of the gaming community to so I'm keeping it to myself for a while longer until I figure out what to do about it. I will either think of something to fix it or I'll just publish it anyway and see if it was just my friend who had a problem with it.

Now I can quit whining about never getting nominated for anything. Thanks a lot guys!

Thanks for your review of The Tangled Weave. As usual your proofreading is a great help.

So just because people behave like idiots in the real world it's acceptable to do so in a game? I hate this expression but two wrongs don't make a right.

Quote:The Contact for this arc was a custom character by the name of "Detective Croquette", who has a seldom-seen partner by the name of "Detective Basinns" (more on that at the end of this review).
They aren't custom characters. They are the police radio contacts in Talos. -
Quote:This had me laughing so hard I'm willing to forgive the OP and forget he ever posted his pile of manure here on the board for everyone to see. I know he's proud of stacking it that high but it's not really much of an accomplishment.Mission 8: Everyone forced to toggle Rest on permanently. Players debuffed to the defense and resistance floor. Require at least mag 100 immobilize protection just to move. Mission requires eight simultaneous clicks on objectives which spawn Ballistas at ten second intervals.
Mission 9: All powers suppressed except for Self Destruction and rezzes. Objective is to defeat the Crystal Titan.
Mission 10: All players are turned into clockwork gears, and must then defeat themselves scaled to archvillains. -
Then you should not ask for more stuff for bases. They stopped wasting time and money on that bad venture.
-
I'm pretty sure it's working as intended.
One slight problem with this trick that I forgot to mention. If you have an objective with a "plural" text, it won't work to put the "<br>" at the front of that line, because then the automatically added number will end up on the row above the text. But I'm sure everyone figured that out already. -
The links don't work for me either. Neither in Firefox or Explorer.
-
You can always do his missions. It takes all of 1 minute or maybe 2. But I agree, we should be able to drop the tutorials and heck, anything we want really.
-
Ever wanted a really nice and clean-looking navbar which is easy to read and pleasing for the eye?
I've just discovered that you can use line-breaks in the objective text fields. Of course, putting a line-break after the text will make the automatically added comma end up on the next line, which doesn't look very nice.
If the line-break is added in front of the text, however, everything will look perfect.
Write your objective text like this:
"<br>Your text goes here"
"<br>The next objective"
"<br>The final objective"
This will show up in the navbar thus:
Your text goes here,
The next objective,
The final objective
Instead of:
Your text goes here, The
next objective, The final
objective
As everyone can see the top example is much easier to read and just looks much better. Please use this tiny tutorial to clean up your navbars in order to achieve this new standard of excellence. -
It's not just that they are gaudy but they are unnecessary. Their function could be performed by the existing stores already. Or by the trainers. Or something other than a bunch of clowns with no in-game explanation for who they are. No, this is not a request for the devs to make up an explanation for the merit vendors. Just get rid of them. But enough of this. Back to your regular thread.
-
They should make you a dev in charge of costumes. Then you could do something about the Merit vendors. Like, remove them.
