  1. Hi,
It would be a nice touch if your personal items you add to your base, could be added in missions too.
I mean only simple things, like gun and knife cases.
  2. Hmm, Hero 1 was British. It would therefore be spelt Honouree.
  3. Us Brits aren't really evil, honest.
He had the coolest cape of all, and I even heard a rumour(YES THAT'S HOW IT'S SPELT!!) that he had a dental plan.
  4. Dancing Freaks!
    That was great.

Seriously! I mean, Hero 1 was freaking British, people! But I've never seen anyone make a fish and chips joke! XD

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's because fish and chips are serious stuff. A bag of chips, a filet or two of cod and salt and vinegar on the lot must be treated with reverance at all times.

Dreaming of tasty fish and chips...

    [/ QUOTE ]

As an American who's been to London several times, I can personally attest that delicious British fish and chips are NO laughing matter

    [/ QUOTE ]

And the thing is, if you think the fish and chips are good in London, you should try them 'up north'.

Hero 1, Best Batterer in Britain.
Reckon he asked Statesman if he wanted a long salami?

Was that some sort of reply to what I said?

    Bizzaro! Bizzaro! Bizzaro!

No lol. Was just talking about US settlers.
  7. Sigh.
MOST CAUCASIAN Americans from the USA are descendants of the British or and have a bit of their genes. The others are from all over the world i.e. the Jews,Hispanics and African blacks.
The Quakers were some of the earliest settlers.
Anyway I think Synapse is alive.

I love the VS system. Heck, I play every Wednesday night. But we're not looking to duplicate their gameplay or overal system.

We chose AEG because of their dynamite record with card games. I love L5R - and Doomtown is one of the all time greats. I felt most comfortable with the direction that they're taking. Rest assured, we're involved in the process and aren't about to just throw this over the proverbial fence.

The RPG and the CCG are NOT about trying to make $. Instead, I pushed for both of these products because I knew they'd be cool. Strange, hunh? I'm not just the designer of CoH, but I'm also a fan. And as a fan, I want to see those things. So heck, we've been working on these things for quite a while.

So, if you aren't familiar with AEG yet - check 'em out!

See you in Wizard World LA!

I'd love to come. I live in the UK and I'm scared of flying
I think the dev's passion for this genre is great and speaks volumes about what they want from the game and comics in general.
Shame a certain other company wasn't like you guys.
  9. I remember when group fly was gimped.

i think states ability to toy with us is one of his benefits. He gets a crappy dental plan but every few hours he gets to make our heads spin in weird circles.

It was part of his contract, sorry.

Hmmm, I'm begining to think my theory of him being the tea trolly boy may be true.
  14. Hi,
Not a question more of a suggestion.
Watch yer back(side) down there in Brighton.

If you are going to knock damage off of AoE's (I presume), I have a couple of ideas.
    1. Limit the damage enhancements you can slot.
    2. AoE's use alot of End especially Alpha strikes. My inferno when it hits will use all my End leaving me vulnerable to attack for a short while. IF I don't get all the mobs I'm dead meat. How about End reduction on AoE's with less damage output? Or maybe the End reduction is worked out on what you just hit. Say 3 even level minions will not have such a big penalty as say hitting 3 orange level minions.
    3. Increase the recharge time of them to about double what it is now.
    4. Alpha strikes make you go gimpy when fired off (this would result in death if any mobs are around though).

Instead of lowering AoE damage, why not limit damage enhancements to say 4 instead as a cap?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    NOOOOO!!! SHHHHH!!!...

Blasters having no defense need all the damage we can get ...

    [/ QUOTE ]
Oh so true, I'm in perma debt. Doesn't that justify the damage output?

The OP's point hasn't been addressed, and cuppa joe's response doesn't actually respond to it. The KEY is loot. And then raid content. Those are the two big holes missing in Coh. You can talk about explorers, blah blah blah. IN 99 percent of rpgs there is loot and in most mmos getting the best loot requires raiding. Why? Acheiving difficult objectives and getting substantial rewards is funner than achieiving trivial objectives with no rewards.

The "casual gamer" doesn't want big stuff that requires strategy and an effort and spending some time doing something. Fine. But ultimately it makes for a shallow game, where you do the missions over and over in the same time of environments (how many warehouse mishes have lvl 50s done?).

And. There's practically no endgame. Hamidon. Okay. How many players in this game have killed him? .01 percent I'd say. How does that effect the "casual gamer"? How many will kill him? Not many. Most will just either quit or restart at lvl 50. Heck I got my healer to 45 and there was no reason to continue - he could heal fine as is, there were no new powers I needed, and I'd been sked so much I'd seen most of the 50 lvl content (and all my travel badges, including Hamidon).

Those who say "it's the journey, not the destination" I argue in a great game it's the journey AND the destination. Lvl 50 should have a ton of stuff to do and have fun.

    [/ QUOTE ]
No MMO really has an "Endgame". And please, no loot.

The rules for teleportation have changed in order to keep heroes from teleporting to otherwise impossible-to-get-to areas. Your hero can still teleport "through things", though. There isn't exactly a line-of sight check from the hero to the destination. Instead, there is a line-of-sight check from your viewpoint (the "camera") to the hero and a line-of-sight check from the camera to your destination. If both are clear (and your hero will fit, etc.) then we allow the teleport.

This allows your hero to teleport around corners and buildings, but not into solid objects. (Which includes objects with doors.)

    [/ QUOTE ]
No more teleporting under the floor in city hall in Atlas then?

Incidentally I think you would be (pleasantly?) surprised to find how many CoH players are actually women. The number of female gamers in recent years has absolutely skyrocketed. Any actual numbers slip my mind at the moment, but I wouldn't be surprised if they are approaching or above a quarter of the population.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think The Sims has a lot to do with more females getting into video games... I know it's the first one my girlfriend really started playing (must be 'cause women are so controlling - lol) and now she plays Jedi Academy, Medal of Honor, Battlefield 1942...

And I just got her City of Heroes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Tsk tsk :P Some of us have been playing videogames from the days of Pong...and may the heavens drop on my head if I ever load another Sims game onto my computer (free game, it stayed on my computer 1 day only).

You'd be surprised at how many women played (and still play) the good ole MUDS and progressed from there.

PS...ooooo...you just had to bring up the stereotype of the "controlling female". bad bad bad. Not nice and very blind of you since men have been controlling women since oh...the dawn of time bad! shame on you! It's my turn to control and you better snap too Mister!
