There's even a thread stickied in this forum that explains how to search. Oddly enough it is titled:
Sticky: How to search first! (Read this BEFORE you post!)
If that doesn't help try this:
a tip on searching.
1. Click on "Search" up at the top of the forum.
2. On the left, under "Forum(s) to search," select "Suggestions and ideas."
3. On the right, Keyword Search Terms. This is probably where your problem was if you did search. Try the following, exactly as typed:
+vehicle -"re: "
This will search for anything with the string "vehicle" in the title.The -re: portion of it removes replies, so you'll see the root of every thread that comes up, letting you see just how many threads there are on this. (The last helps for other subjects, as well.)
Be sure to put the space between the colon and last quote.
4. Click the "In subject" radio button. This is a search, not a cute blonde in a bikini. Here, you want to ignore the body.
5. Leave Username Search blank.
6. Date range, Newer Than, change the 1 to a 3, and the time to Months.
7. Result format doesn't matter. Click on "Submit." -

If your "friends" quit over the AE then it's probably because they got mad after their AE exploits got smacked, or they got disciplined for using the exploits. -

Your probably right but if they paid for the lifetime sub it doesn't matter if they haven't actually played for four months because at the six month mark they won't have used up the entire sub fee. The sub fee is the equivilant of a 1 year sub.
Now if they did it at 18 months that would be fudging the numbers because then that would be 6 months they could have been getting a monthly sub from someone without the lifetime sub. -

CO's lifetime subs are only being offered for the next three weeks. They aren't offering it indefinitely so only a very finite number of players will buy it. Primarily the ones that are beta testing the game.
99% of the customers are not going to cough up $200. to buy a lifetime sub for a game they haven't played yet. They don't even know if they'll like it or not. Only an ***** would throw his money away like that.
That isn't a lot of lost revenue to make up. It won't even add up to 1% of their playerbase. -

Disagree all you want but it still won't change the fact that this game isn't going to offer a lifetime subscriptions and forever lose the income from those customers.
This games business model isn't set up to replace the lost income that lifetime subs would remove. You can't be gullible enough to think that CoH can stay profitable selling respecs, character slots, transfers, rename tokens, and booster packs. -

Not gonna happen.
This game is 5 years old and at this point offering a lifetime membership tells the playerbase that the game is no longer profitable. They will not be paying anyone to create any more new content and it is just a matter of time before they shut everything down.
A lifetime membership for a new MMO is a way to get a limited number of players to fork over a years subscription so the company has a quick influx of cash.
You'll notice that the MMO in question is only offering the lifetime sub to people that buy it before August 31st. That is the day before the game gets released. Not many people are going to buy a lifetime sub without trying the game first, so the players that will take advantage of it will be the ones in the open beta. -

Heh, at first I was a bit surprised about that lifetime subscription offer for CO, but after I learned that they had hired the former lead designer of Hellgate: London for their marketing division and saw their whole marketing model I am not all that surprised anymore.
I am quite happy that the CO open beta starts soon. Then, finally, all can see that CO is simply a bad game that is hardly even worth the initial purchase, let alone monthly fees or a lifetime subscription. Too many decisions about the game design take all that is good about CoH/CoV and turn it upside down. Never tried a game that felt so hectic with such slow killing speed...
Now I've decided to check out the game myself to see what all the complaints are about, but they'll have to pry my CoH accounts from my cold dead fingers before I stop playing this game. -

I don't see it as the least bit hypocritical. By turning off our reps we castrate the pathetic little poo flingers that are going around gleefully throwing out neg rep in an effort to forum grief. They have no idea if our reps are red or green nor how many dots we have, thus their efforts are wasted and they are powerless to change it.

This is my request for Samuraiko/Dark_Respite. If you can't hire her outright for vids, can you do a per siem thing so she's compensated per vid?
I can't help it guys. And many of you (devs and players alike) have more than a few PMs from me, so you know how serious I am here. Dark_Respite's vids tend to be way more epic, there's just this feeling while watching them... WHOA!
So, hire her or contract her. I dun care. But I need her vids. Deeply and in a decidely wrong way.
I endorse this idea.
The voices in my head also approve of it. Except for Jose. He's from Chile and I never know what the hell he's saying, because I don't speak Spanish.
