Theres trusting peoples posts and then theres letting people know that they made a mistake in their post [which is what busting is, in a light hearted manner] to help keep the forums as informative as possible. After all, isnt that what forums are for? To find the correct information you want?
But yeah you took the context of the post out of whack since the OP is about why somebody has only got a low rep when that person seems to be quite popular on your servers. I replied stating that a person shouldnt need a rep bar to be noticed, they should only rely on the content of their present post and not think "ok im trusted now so i dont have to put as much effort in". Thus my post came to the conclusion that that is why i dont look at peoples reputations/past experiences, but only what they are currently saying and not automatically thinking "ok they're right because they got a high rep".
We are all wrong from time to time [even if none of us like to admit it] and that is why peoples CURRENT post should be trusted at first glance. If the post turns out to be incorrect then so be it, least you gave it the benefit of the doubt.

Regardless of my original intent with this post I highly recommend that everyone read the Rude Tells thread. It will make you laugh and give you hundreds of ideas on how to deal with the obnoxious players we all sometimes stumble across without losing your temper.

So now there's a whole thread dedicated to grabbing rep points for ONE poster? I'm not going to go straight from this thread to go give Psychoti Rep points, but instead I will give points as I see fit.
I included a link to the thread his humerous posts are in so people can go there directly and see his posts and decide for themselves.
If you don't like his posts then feel free to go on your merry way. I just hit me that with all the "you rep me and I'll rep you" crap going on, it would be nice to see someone that has made thousands of us (9,246 at last count) laugh, get an attaboy from his peers.

I guess I should provide more specifics on it.
I asked my daughter to pull weeds in the back yard. And I had Swetha with me at the time. The bird obviously wanted to be with her, so I told my daughter to keep her while she pulled weeds. After awhile I told my daughter to go to the west side of the house to work. This is where the wall between my property and the neighbor is. At one point my daughter was stooped over with the bird on her back. She stood up and Swetha was either spooked or lost her balance, flapped her wings, and over the wall she went. (Although her wings were clipped, she still managed to get just enough lift.)
The dog was there, and that was pretty much the end of it.
So she feels guilty and that shes to blame. And I feel guilty because I set the whole scene up. Rationally I know that its not the dogs fault or the neighbors fault, but emotionally, well... thats a different story. (And it doesnt help that this guy has been nothing but a pain in the *** since he moved in, for reasons too numerous to mention.) So I tell my daughter that she isnt to blame. And I *try* to tell myself that same thing, but I dont believe me.

I did not say or infer that not showing rep makes you bad. You somehow gleaned that from the post. I don't know where you drew this "rep off = bad" thing from. Maybe you need to watch your own assumptions.
No, the ones I am insulting are the cowards that have been using the rep system to make nasty, vulgar personal attacks. Some of who have already felt the wrath of the Mod stick.
The only people upset that my rep is turned off are the frustrated little internet bullies. They sit in their parents basements and gnash their teeth because they get no satisfaction. Their attempts to get any reaction are ignored.
And everyone knows the best weapon you can use to deal with an internet bully is ignoring them. -

While I understand what your saying, I say screw the rep farmers. Their little rep game means nothing to me.

What's with the burst of people just noticing this, was S&I not under For Fun on the UK forums seeing how the events of JRanger never happened over there?
Those two dingleberries generated hundreds of petitions over the span of one weekend and started the whole debacle that got Suggestions moved to the For Fun section of the forums.
If they hadn't acted like petition happy 6 year olds having temper tantrums the move may never have occurred. -
