It got moved here after a few oversensitive people complained about every post that disagreed with them, among other things. It's been down here for quite some time.
I wonder how many people are going to discover that Suggestions was moved to the For Fun section somewhere between two and three years ago. I've already seen at least three threads on the subject since the forum move, not counting this one.

What's with the burst of people just noticing this, was S&I not under For Fun on the UK forums seeing how the events of JRanger never happened over there?
It's been here quite some time now, and the devs still do come here on occasion. (witness bab's post in the "tails" thread).
It really did get too hot to handle up in the other section.
Plus, as has always been the case, if you've got what you believe to be a really, really great or important revelation for the game - pm it to a redname directly. They DO read their messages. They may or may not respond, but they do read em.
In here, it's more a trial by fire. Gotta keep in mind that not all suggestions are as unique or innovative as one might imagine. However some of them that DO stand the tests of angry S&I posters (myself included lol) may be the ones that the devs take more seriously.
It doesn't need to be moved, just understand that it's not all srsbnz down here for a reason. 
It's just as flamey down here as it was when it was elsewhere, honestly.

Those two dingleberries generated hundreds of petitions over the span of one weekend and started the whole debacle that got Suggestions moved to the For Fun section of the forums.
If they hadn't acted like petition happy 6 year olds having temper tantrums the move may never have occurred.

Other people have hinted at answers to your questions, and on of the other threads may have a more complete explanation. It was moved here partially by player petition, partially by moderator decision. That's that.

There will be a LOT of questions about it, for exactly the reasons in the OP - and because the EU forums didn't have those events, and didn't have this forum moved.
And for an EU player of under 3 years of account age, it's going to be near-on impossible for them to know the situation. And I don't think it's fair that they must accept that years-old decision without complaint or protest.
If they want to reconsider, let them. That's the point of player SUGGESTIONS, all suggestions are allowed to be made.

As you'll note, I didn't explain anything. I stated that this change is three years old. I got scolded for not explaining it. There are already plenty of threads on this one and the search feature is supposed to be better than the one in the old forums.

When the forums got remade, I have to admit that I was a bit taken back by the decision to include this segment - the one dedicated to suggestions and ideas - in a sub-forum marked "FOR FUN!"
The problem that I have with it is that it gives the impression that our suggestions are not going to be taken seriously. Now maybe that is the case in application; after all, how many years were we asking for power customization and haven't gotten it until Issue 16 comes out? But at the very least coming up with suggestions or ideas on how the whole "City Of" experience should be something that should be encouraged, not treated as a novelty item.
So my suggestion is this: Please move the "Suggestions and Ideas" section out of the "For Fun!" sub-forum into the "Development" sub-forum.
Agree? Disagree?
