Quote:Who ever said anything about only buying one entree? I was only pointing out that a person can easily get more than one meal from a fast food joint with only $10 which is the price of the Martial Arts booster.you know, while they did go into the digression about minimum wage, the fact remains that if you are even nominally employed, 10 dollars is a relatively easily compensated amount of cash by shifting some other area of your budget. If all you eat is from the dollar menu, then perhaps your budget really is too tight, but since i eat at my place of employment and a standard meal is 5 dollars, the point stands that by just bringing leftovers and using the water cooler, my budget could shift the cost from 2 days of doing without. plus you must be darn tiny if you can be filled up on one entree from the dollar menu.

For example
Little Ceaser's pizza sells large 1 topping pizza's for only $5 bucks.
Burger King, Mcdonalds, Wendy's, Sonics all sell several types of sandwiches for a buck a piece as well as a variety of other items.
Taco Bell has items as low as .79 cents on their value menus
KFC has lunch boxes for $1.99
Long John Silver's also has their own version of the dollar menu
Subway has $5. foot long subs
Arby's run a 5 items for $5 deal
I'm a fat slob and I can easily get 2 or three meals out of $10. depending on where I go.

Quote:well i could get a few bad points here but i dont care...
lets face it people or at least be honest...the devs/team..dont give a rats about what we think is a good way to get people. they havent done much advertisement (in my view) in the past and while i am seriously hoping they will kick it up 1000% for GR and future issues, i wouldnt be suprised if all i see or hear is a article here n there about this game.
it would be nice to get told what is at least going through the teams minds about it but hey thats my xmas list for ya.
the trouble is as well. with what little word there is about this game, theres more bad thoughts from annoying little sad people about it. i think i saw a video the other day on youtube and the whole page was people bad thoughts about it. we dont need what word we have bad mouthed before people try it.
Devs do SOMETHING more yer.
aye on this hand...dont really have a great advertisement plan that hasnt already been said in the past or posted here now. (or i would add it
)
this is just my one off rant.
sorry
and
enjoy
You do realize that advertising isn't handled by the Devs. Advertising is handled by marketing. Get sales off their butts. -

Can a costume change emote be bound to a power?
Say I wanted to press a key like numpad 7 and activate the ninja smoke bomb costume change emote, which in turn would activate Invisibility.
If it's possible what would have to type? -
We already get an annual vet reward. They give us a free character slot for each year we keep our accounts active. This would just be a second one reward given at the same time.

Quote:Do you have any idea how much money they make every month selling LKT-1700 packs?
Do you think they are crazy, and want to give up that monthly income?
I think you are confusing the jet pack temp power with some jetpack costume pieces. What we'd like to see added is some more recipes in the form of jetpacks. You'd still have to take the travel power Fly but the jetpack costume recipe would animate when using it just like wings and rocket boots animate once the power is turned on. -
More beast/monster heads/legs/feet
Animated tails
Beast/monster stance/run
Face Tentacles
Elevator butt emote so when you pet a catgirl their butt goes up in the air.
Electric can opener emote when done summons all catgirls in a zone. -
Quote:Eh, those are better band names than superhero names, I think.
I can't complain about grabbing names, though. Last three names I picked up were Strike Reaver (DB/Elec Scrapper - Virtue), Woodfiend (Plant/Thorns Dominator - Freedom) and Twilight's Jewel (Warshade - Freedom). The first two were first tries/choices, and Twilight's Jewel was a third try. I'm pretty happy.
The same could be said about Twilight's Jewel. Nuclear Autumn is the name of my first Cyberpunk character. Had her going on 20 years now.

None of the items you mentioned are natural. Backpacks, quivers, and scabbards, jetpacks, and rocket boots are made by technology. No one is born with them.

Quote:Off the top of my head I found these are available on Virtue.Occasionally, I admit I do wish good names were easier to find. ("Good" meaning names that are stylish, descriptive, memorable, in English, and evocative of the superhero genre.)
On the other hand, I've had a few cases where I got a much better name, concept and character because so many good names were taken, so I can't really complain about a lack of names.
I wanted to make a rad/sonic defender for a long, long time, but had trouble coming up with a suitable concept and name. My original idea was some sort of post-apocalyptic punk rocker with radioactive powers, but I couldn't find anything good that fit the theme.
One day I snagged a fantastic name, musing that it'd be great for a nightcrawler-style teleporting hero. The only problem was, it still didn't fit my rad/sonic in any way. Then I realized I could portray a rad/sonic as a superhero with time and space manipulation powers. AM = speed up time, LR = slow down time, EMP = time stop, RI = teleporting bullets out of the way, EF = funky time/space distortion effects, sonic blasts = energy bolts that cause damage by warping reality. I picked up SS and Teleport for flavor, which also let me get 32.5 ranged defense and ghosting capability, and gave her a new backstory about being a US astronaut on a joint NASA-Portal Corps mission that was disrupted by Axis America's invasion. I ended up enjoying the revamped character about 10 times more.
The name in question? You won't believe it. Remember, this is on Virtue.
Warpshadow.

Stop and just think about how much animation that would take. Walking, running, the new ninja run, travel powers, and everything that could be "animated" with that staff.
As an individual powerset, possibly. As a booster - I wouldn't hold my breath. -
Quote:I don't find it odd at all. After the way he behaved in his other thread Are All Good Things Meant for CoH Going to Aion? he probably turned it off because he is anticipating getting neg repped by people that read it, and doesn't want everyone to watch as he gets more red jellybeans.Hmm... Odd that Rubberlad turned off his reputation despite having no intention to.
Wait . . . you were being sarcastic weren't you? Doh!

Quote:No it is not more secure simply because no one goes around memorizing the @thisnamelooksstupid.coms part of the names in CO. In fact players there go out of their way to try to ignore it.So, while the concatenation of the global in CO is kind of ugly, it's actually a more secure naming scheme (because someone trying to impersonate someone else would have to fool you with both the character name and the global).
As far as impersonating another player in this game. Very unlikely to happen because we have several tools that aid us in keeping track of people we know.
1. Server Friends list - Which keeps track of characters names. So if I have Superdude on my friends list and Sooperdude claims to be that guy I know immediately he's an imposter.
2. Global Friends List - This keeps track of players by their global names. A quick double check of that list will quickly reveal if Sooperdude is an alt character of one of my friends.
3. Private Channel Members List - This lists the names of all members of a private channel who is online at that moment. Most SG's I know of have their own private channels set up and members talk to each other on those channels. If someone comes up to me asking for an SG invite and his request isn't coming on our private channel I know he's an imposter.
4. Notes - Using the notes feature we can identify members of our SG's and rate them with stars. Notes are attached to global names so it doesn't matter what character they are on we can quickly confirm if they are actually an SG member.
5. SG permissions -
a. Most SG's restrict who can invite people into their SG. (I.E. Leaders)
b. Other SG's put restrictions on who can promote SG members within the SG.
c. Then there are the storage bin security measures. Each individual bin can be set so that only members of a certain rank can take items from them.
6. Base editing - With the removal of pathing restrictions a year ago Base Architects have the ability to completely block off entire sections of their bases for added security. The base editing permission is almost always kept under strict lock and key of the leadership so there is no way some schmuck can impersonate his way into an SG base and rob them blind. -
Quote:Well, they can make most of the problems go away.
1) Have a temp power that is a one-hero submersible or diving suit which works like one of the Halloween temp powers - now there is only one model to deal with.
2) Since you're fully enclosed, none of your powers can be used - the power toggles them off, just like the Walk power. Second problem eliminated.
3) The diving suit power can only be toggled on or off in an area designated 'airlock'.
This eliminates 99%* of the animation issues but can still give us a water zone with 3 axes of movement that we can explore. Any fighting just has to be done in an underwater lab, submarine, air-filled cave, etc.
* Made-up number
They could take the route of another MMO and simply not allow any type of combat/powers to work underwater. Then the only animations they would need to make is for swimming.
Doing that they would still have plenty of things they could put in an underwater zone. Instanced missions could take place in caves with an underwater entrances, sunken ships, domed cities, submarines, etc. There could be lots of secret places and glowies for players to explore and find. Some could spawn randomly in different locations so they are more challanging to find and collect. -

There'd be a lot of vets pissed off if they suddenly took away the respecs they are supposed to get under the current system. I don't see a problem if the universal token uses items that haven't already been used as a vet reward yet.

Sexy J can't win. If he holds onto costume pieces until they meet his exceptionally high standards, everyone B*****s, moans, and whines that he isn't putting new costume pieces out fast enough. I can't count the times I've seen people say that clipping issues won't bother them, they just want "Moar stuff nao!"
Now as soon as he relents and gives us what we are constantly demanding for, people turn on him like a pack of rabid ankle-biting lap-dogs and complain about the trivial clipping issues. -
Quote:Personally I don't care if they ever come out with a PS2 or xbox version of the game.
- Cross-platform MMO (Yun suggests NCsoft never considered it before Aion which doesn't ring true)
Quote:- New underwater zone (plus swimming abilities)

This isn't going to happen as long as BaBs is here.
We still call them apartments, and we are still asking for them.Quote:- Purchaseable home spaces (we called them "apartments" back in the day)
This is coming in Going Rogue. They gave us a demo of what we'll be getting at the last convention.Quote:- Visual enhancements
Why would we need crossbows? We already have an archery set. Don't see the need for a duplicate powerset with different animations.Quote:- New weapons sets - Whips and Crossbows

Quote:Ya know what's really overdone in this game? . . . Super Heroes. Damn things are everywhere. Ya can't turn around without seeing some idjit running by in spandex and wearing his/her underwear outside his/her pants.(QR to OP)
Honestly? I wouldn't, unless it was for some kind of parody. Vampires are even more overdone than Wolverine, and that's no mean feat.
