I've always been amazed how that one buff seems to bring out the Kinetics inner a**hole. I can't count how many of them I've one starred because they think they can force me to play my characters the way they dictate.

You could have an arc like Doc Delilah's where at the completion of it, you gain something like the "Entrusted With the Secret" badge and power. The arc would be geared towards 50s, obviously, but wouldn't necessarily require Incarnate powers to complete. Nor would the zone need them, but they would definitely be helpful when it comes to fighting the higher level baddies, just like the new Apex and Tin Mage TFs.

Just my two cents to this thread.

I believe there were originally plans for launch sites of some sort in Steel Canyon and Port Oakes.

Now it would be nice if they gave us some more but there's really no reason to expect them after GR has launched.

Can't help you there. My video card is on the fritz and I can't run the game until I get it fixed.

Uhm . . . You might try using /hc and ask for help finding a team. Make sure you mention your a villain and on a trial account so players know which faction you're on and that you have limited communications.

Basically I mentioned it to show you that there are more than one reason why people object to buffs and that can give some insight as to why they might be opposed to continuous buffs.

Personally my objections are from the perspective on how my characters respond inside tight enclosed maps which we frequently have missions on, and how certain buffs make it more difficult and therefore less enjoyable.

Now in addition to game mechanics and cosmetic reasons, we've also had people object for medical reasons. Yes, I said medical reasons. We've actually had the effects of powers changed because the visual effects were making some people phyiscally ill. Migraines and such.

They are called Quartermasters on the villain side and each zone has at least one. They are clearly marked on your map with a dollar sign symbol.

If your map isn't showing that symbol you need to open the maps directory on the lower left corner and check the box for stores.

Your math is faulty. SGU isn't a variable in that equation. Here is the actual math.

  11. You can start paper missions as soon as a character reaches level 5 and leaves Mercy Island.

Take the ferry (It's marked on your map) to Port Oakes and you'll be given either Mikey the Ear or Drea the Hook as your broker contact for that zone. Go to the Broker and he will unlock the Newspaper contact. Then just choose one of the three paper missions.

Every few paper missions you'll have to return to the broker to get a Mayhem mission. At that time you can choose to do it or decline and continue more paper missions.

The newspaper missions are basically one shot fillers to help players between levels when they run out of regular content. If that's what choose to play you will find yourself repeating the same missions over and over.

Now if you like the challenge of the timed Mayhem missions, you'll have to do the paper missions to unlock them. As you level you'll see that the Mayhem missions send you to different areas where you'll face different opponents.

    Atlas Park 5-10 Skulls
    Kings Row 10-15 Clockwork
    Skyway City 15-20 Trolls
    Steel Canyon 20-25 Family
    Ind. Port 25-30 Council
    Talos Island 30-35 Freakshow
    Brickstown 35-40 Crey
    Founders Falls 40-45 Devouring Earth
Peregrine Isle 45-50 Knives of Artemis

How do I get back to where I went to from talking to Calvin Scott, anyway?
To find the entrance/exit to the Underground just open your map and you will see the Loyalist and Resistance symbols. Click on the symbol you are currently aligned to and follow your nav to that location.

To return to Calvin Scott open your contact list and click on him and follow your Nav back to him.

    1) If I supposedly made my toon a stalker, isn't she supposed to be a villain? What is she doing helping the cops like Officer Flint in Praetoria in the tutorial? Are free trial players forbidden from starting out in the villain area? Will I be able to change alignments?
Yes. With the introduction of the new Going Rogue expansion ALL new accounts are required to start off in Praetoria on their first character. After getting your first character thru the tutorial you should be able to create either a straight Hero or Villain.

    Quote:
    2) Also, I can't seem to rescue those hostages because there are too many of them & I am only one!
If you're having too much trouble you can ask for help from anyone else in the tutorial. It's also possible that the stalker playstyle may not be right for you as a new player. Each archetype plays differently and there's no shame in deciding that you may be able to play a Stalker later on when you have more experience playing the game.

    Quote:
    3) Where is "Praetor Duncan", so I can talk about advancement points? I just turned lvl 2!
Once you get thru the tutorial and get to Nova Praetoria open your contact list and select Praetor Duncan and then simply follow your nav right to him. You'll be told exactly how far away you are and what direction you have to follow.

    Quote:
    4) I joined the "resistance". Will there be a point where I can join them instead of the "loyalists"? Which brings me back to #1: Will I be able to change alignments?
In Praetoria you don't have a definate alignment yet, but you will be able to change between Loyalist and Resistance factions each time you get a morality mission. Once you hit level 20 you will have to decide if you want to be a Hero or a Villain.
  17. Here's more CoH toys from the same company.

  18. If MGM feels there is a market that will allow them to complete the show that's great. They may even find another US network that is willing to air the completed series.

Similar to how they changed pet buffs for masterminds to affect all pets on a single cast.

I never suggested that ALL buffs operate this way. I was mostly thinking of things like armors and such. With a low enough end pull, it would hardly be a problem. And if the mechanic allowed for apply and forget or apply and hold, then you could just do it the way that suits you.

As for range an easy solution would be to have it no have a range so long as you're in the same mission.

Just an FYI, I've seen some pretty vehement objections concerning certain armor buffs just over how they make a players costume look while active. (I don't say anything to those players but I have to admit I'm thinking "Oookaaaay" whenever it gets mentioned.)

Apparently you don't, and the number of level 50's you have isn't relevant. the bulk of players don't have a lot of 50's. I myself who have been for 6 years only have 2. The amount you suggested would screw over every player with more then 3 characters.

    Quote:
But to come up with a outrageous amount would get laughed at by the devs
And the insultingly low amount your suggesting is going to be laughed at by everyone.

    Quote:
I'd rather loose a little to gain much more.
Dude, your math skills are grossly inadequate. Lose a little? How do you figure that giving up thousands of salvage slots for a mere 100 is a little by any definition of the word?

And what exactly is this "gain" you are referring to? The ability to move a couple pieces of salvage between characters on the same account. Gee I could have sworn we could do this already via Email.

Yeah adding a feature that already duplicates something we can already do but destroys our ability to store salvage. What a great idea.

    Quote:
Unless you have each piece of salvage listed for each toon how long would it take you to hunt down the salvage you would need?
So because a handful of people are lazy hoarders who refuses to keep track of their stuff the devs should screw over everyone else in the game. Oh yeah that makes sense.

    Quote:
You rather add to the price gouging at the market?
What price gouging? If you think something is to expensive then don't bid that high. It's that simple. Place a bid for what you are willing to spend and wait. There is nothing for sale on the market that you can't play the game without, or that you can't get thru other means. (Merits, AE Tickets, Drops from actually playing the game) The only people being "gouged" (to use your own words) are the ones that suffer from terminal Gottahaveitnowitis and make bids they can't afford.

    Quote:
More than likely you'll say I have billions... I have billions too and I'd like to keep that so I am able to buy the recipes I need for the toons, I surely don't want to spend more on the salvage then the recipes it takes to slot the toon.
How much inf you have isn't relevant. Adding up everything I have on all my characters on my main account I have just over 63 million, and only 22 million on my secondary account.

And despite being relatively "poor" compared to other players I have never had any trouble getting exactly what I want on any of my characters by using Merits, AE Tickets, random drops, and reasonable bids on the market while excercising a little patience.

    Quote:
As far as the SG salvage lockers not all my toons are in the same sgs, or even on the same servers... Sure I'd like to see them expand the lockers, will I ever think they will do it... not really.
You're forgetting that the Email feature eliminated any inconvienence that existed by not having all your characters in the same SG or on the same server.

    Quote:
Not everyone have 47 50's let alone 80.
Here you are making an assumption. I never said anyone had 80 level 50's (although I'm sure there are one or two). I said that all my characters are over level 5. Counting all the characters I have on both my accounts, all I have are 2 level 50's, 1 level 47, 2 level 37's, and the rest are somewhere betweeen levels 5 and 35. Most of whom are parked at specific levels with their XP turned off.

    Quote:
But I'm sure a lot of people are getting feed up with spending an arm and a leg on salvage.
The only people I see getting upset are the impatient Gottahaveitnow players, and I doubt they make up 5 percent of the playerbase.

With all due respect, did you and your global friends actually stop to do the math on this? Seriously.

You are suggesting that we castrate ourselves where it comes to vault storage. I'm sorry but screw that idea.

I like many others have many characters. On my main account alone I have 80+. Now considering that none of them are below level 5 that means each of my characters has at least 30 vault slots.

That means I have at least 2,400 vault slots.

It's bad enough that the devs destroyed our ability to store salvage in bases, don't make things exponentially worse by destroying our personal vault storage.
