    Well actually....

Gimme a coupla days, I'm in the midst of ressurecting Ironclad under a different name...

    [/ QUOTE ]

    You're Ironclad?

Dude!! Quit changing your forum name! It's confusing!! ;p
  2. Holy thread ressurrection Batman!
  3. I have to say... You very talented people are REALLY making this hard for us! The standard of ALL the entries so far is just incredible! We have our work cut out for us, judging these!!!
  4. Red always was a bit slow on the uptake.. Must be all that Borscht and vodka..
  5. There's still time! The competition is open until midnight tonight, so if you can find a scanner you can still post it.

And due to the forum being messed up of late, PM entries ARE acceptable as they still work even when you can't post!
  6. Excellent entries so far everyone! Keep them coming, there's still time!
  7. He was carrying $5million ON him? BIG pockets!
  8. I certainly don't have any problems with it, but I think you did right in checking with teh big B first. Can't hurt, right? Some people can be oversensitive about these things.

So I was telling FFM off for asking you to justify your character (bad, FFM, no buscuit ) and you were telling me off because you thought I was asking you to justify your character.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Wasn't after justification, I was genuinely curious to his origin story and how his powers worked!

And I don't want a biscuit, I'm fat enough already thanks!

    1. A black hole of that size is not radiocative, FFM. A black hole, of itself, cannot be radioactive since it can't give out any radiation. It's a black hole.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, black holes DO emit radiation. Hawking Radiation in fact... So ner!

I failed to Float the Fat Man: Brighton Feb 2007

    [/ QUOTE ]

How? By pushing him in a river?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Hoplite picked me up!

Shadowe tried it and nearly gave himself a hernia...
  12. Aaah, I get it. THAT sort of thing happens all the time in comics, no worries there. I thought he'd ALWAYS been a black hole!

Love the sig btw... How's the back?
  13. /me contemplates all the jokes he could make about Shadowe being superdense... All IC of course!
  14. [ QUOTE ]
So, while I agree with you, FFM, that a human-sized black hole would weigh a lot more than I suggest, you're still slightly wrong.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Fair do's... Now explain how a piece of highly radioactive superdense collapsed stellar material becomes sentient!

(Actually, I'm genuinely curious about that...)
  15. [ QUOTE ]
I knew that Floaty! Lol. I meant he got the character confused with the term. TRACOR-005 can't bring about the end of days, he is just like dommsday, nigh immpossible to defeat physically!

    [/ QUOTE ]

If Superman HADN'T defeated Doomsday, it WOULD have been the end of days!
  16. [ QUOTE ]
he weighs twice as much as the Earth does

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think I have to disagree there... Shadowe is a sentient black hole, right? A black hole about the side of a human being would weigh a HELL of a lot more than the Earth does! You might even be reaching the regions of MY weight!

Doomsday characters should be banned. Doomsday scenarios do not work in any way in games like this. What happens if you fail to abort the Apocalypse exactly?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Umm I think you are confused here Raven? Doomsday the character that killed superman?

    [/ QUOTE ]

He means doomsday characters as in a character that can destroy the world. That's usually the accepted meaning of doomsday! Mind you, characters like DC's Doomsday should be banned too! If anything just for sheer aesthetics! He's one UUGLEEEE mother!

And he has a point. If you make a character that can bring about the apolalypse; what happens if you DO fail? Nothing, nada, zip.... The world carries on because you CAN'T end the game world. Therefore your characters MUST succeed in stopping him and you have a railroaded plot. That's where his reconning that doomsday characters should be banned comes from, and I agree wholeheartedly with him!

    /pedant

    [/ QUOTE ]

    /Whistles innocently...

Don't know what you're talking about, squire...
  19. /Pedant.

Runic is not, and never was, a spoken language; it's not even a proper word. Runes themselves are inscribed symbols, and there are multiple styles.

I believe the people who used "runic" writing generally spoke antique Norwegian, Swedish, Danish and Finnish, oh... and the celts!
  20. [ QUOTE ]
Sorry, that was me being an idiot and not thinking

    I'll edit it..

    [/ QUOTE ]

Sorry! Just had another thought too... What if someone challenged him to do something that would destroy him? Or to commit a crime? A challenge is a challenge, and if he must accept ANY challenge, you've got problems!
  21. [ QUOTE ]
Beet has the power to manipulate most forms of energy however he wants. Be it electrical, mystical or kinetic in origin, he has some control over it. He can also create, fix or disassemble almost any technical device in existance. His weaknesses however, are that if someone challenges him in some way, he has to accept whatever the outcome may be, he is also weak against hand to hand combat.

    [/ QUOTE ]

See, I'm not sure how that can work.. Beet, IIRC, is a robot yes? How can a machine be able to manipulate mystical energy? Never come across a machine that can handle magic.

Plus, you say he can handle kinetic energy. Physical combat works by using kinetic energy; so if he could control kinetic energy, he shouldn't be susceptible to ANY form of physical harm.
  22. I must admit... I've considered speccing future characters up using the M&M rulesets, and then doing a best fit in CoH; just so that I have hard limits when RPing.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
Frankly, both Doc and Grav are very famous, IC. Why would anyone bother trying to work something out when it's easier to just go find the appropriate one and ask?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I know what you're saying. It's for not dissimilar reasons that I retired Ellie from heroing. IC wise, she's quit heroing because quite simply, she can't take the constant stress and worry! She dabbles a little bit now and then still, but only really concerns herself with simple street muggings (and the occaisional spot of revenge! ). I keep her away from other peoples plots and these days she's pretty much only a social RP character.
  24. That's kinda the problem really... For magic plots, Grav CAN break them in seconds. For tech plots, Doc CAN do the same. However, generally the players are responsible enough that they just don't...

EDIT: I can't type for toffee...
