Well, I didn't hate Aquaman #2 but I did think it was over too soon, with too little happening -

Some guy: Hey Aquaman, come check this out!
    Aquaman: Gosh, that's weird.
    Creatures (attacking): Raaarrr! Spit!
Narrator: tune in next month when we'll hear Aquawoman say, "Mera, damn it!"

    - which is something I've felt about several of the new DCnU books. Seem we just get started and before ya know it there's Carol Burnett tugging her ear. Say, maybe that's who that mysterious hooded woman is.

Superman #2 felt more like a complete issue.

I also got Journey Into Mystery #630 (this is the only Marvel comic I still pick up) but I haven't read it yet.

Yes, I believe that hooded figure appeared in all the new #1 issues, as well as in the Flashpoint story that preceded them.

Those Banished Pantheon floating mask thingees - there's a badge for defeating mass quantities of them.

I have some friends who used to make their own beer. One of them made a lil boo boo and serendipitously invented a very nice brew we called a 'Pilsnorter'.

Wow, big drop. I'll be picking this up Saturday, along with the second issues of Flash and Superman.

Really miss Power Girl and Stephanie Brown.

    No confirmation from Hawking yet.

At 2 slots into Tier 8 (after a mighty $15 first time purchase), I still couldn't start a new SG *or* pay base rent for an SG that one of my characters has been a member of since February of 2007 (all other members of that SG are long gone).

One day while one of my many heroes was traversing Kings Row, he stumbled upon this:

For a few moments they stood there, silently, and then they turned and entered their mission and my hero never saw them again.

    Possibly due to retinal damage.

Again - keep the new tutorial! Let 'er rip! Have at it!

But why not throw the nostalgic fans of the old a bone and give them the OPTION to do the old tutorials with new characters? What would it hurt?

But your pseudo danger is something I wouldn't consider since you have to go out of your way to do it.
I don't always fight mass quantities of Contaminated in Breakout, nor do I get the Isolator badge on each and every hero, but the option to do so is there if I feel like it. I like that.

There is no such option in the new tutorial. I don't like that.

Once the new and shiny has worn off this new one, what's going to be left? How long until this one is even more boring than the old one, because all it really amounts to is a glorified cut scene?

As has been previously stated, those lvl 1 Contaminated can DEFEAT YOU and all those endless epic hordes of Shivans CANNOT.

There's no 'epic' to it when you can't lose.

Which was why we were given the option to skip the tutorial. Options are GOOD.
