QR,
Your melee is at 43%. The magic number is 45%. You may have Phalanx figting set to 1 friendly in range. This'll skew the number. You need to change it to 0 in the mids database.
Like the other guy suggested I'd move the slots for Phalanx Figting to Hasten or something.
I always just slot Phalanx Fighting and Grant Cover with LOTG uniques.
And yes, get rid of acrobatics. Pickup OWTS or something.
You don't need to 2 slot health if you're not putting the uniques in there.
To get melee up to at least 45%, slot that darn steadfast protection 3% defense! Then you can remove some slots where you have a full set of red fortunes. -
Also run a virus/malware scan just to be safe. You might have done something naughty.
-
The order for the towers is easier if you do yellow, red then green. You don't need to take down blue.
-
Take care and best of luck with whatever you're doing next.
-
It'll work.
Might I suggest teleport? Strongly suggest teleport.

Quote:Dune doesn't have kids, he's protecting the internet from himself.Yaaaah. I'd say CAIS has fubared not only your network stack but probably a few other services.
That's the problem with nannyware. In order to protect itself from young geniuses hacking their way around it, it has to pre-empt a LOT of the operating system. You're better off just not letting the kids on the computer unless you're in the room with them. -
This may be a stupid question Dune but why not try removing CAIS? It seems like it was the last thing installed before things broke.

I think the general rule of thumb is to slot DOs at 12, SOs at 22 and common IOs at 32. The common IOs at 32 are good up through and even at 50 but can later be refreshed with 50 IOs or sets.

It's OK to softcap but not really necessary on a /stone. psi attacks and too many longbow at once are your holes on a granite.
I went for +rech and +run speed and I enjoy it a lot. I don't need a kin and after building it I enjoyed running missions solo and running down enemies in granite. It felt like I was stalking them -- was fun to do.
Softcap will definitely add to your survivability in a lot of situations but you're in granite! Who needs softcapped defense?
EDIT: I originally just took a look at your numbers and not your powers. Why stealth and invisibility? Just for the lotg recharges? You're a granite! Take the other /stone powers instead and put lotg recharges in there. Also I recommend teleport and not superspeed. Finally for some increased movement 3 slot swift. -
No no, stone/dark is the best.
I like my elec/sd brute. LR, SC, TS, huzzah! -
Edit, go to the very bottom (as far as you can go) and backspace to erase it all, save it, verify it's erased in the personal info view then rewrite it.
If that doesn't work, open up a support ticket. -
For my ranged toons (kin, cold, rad, blaster, storm) I build for softcapped ranged defense (45%).
It makes a huge difference and I find I rarely get defeated on speed runs. -
Driver update, yeah, definitely driver update.

He needs to post a COHelper and HiJackthis. Most likely it's the video card or the video card drivers.
My guess is that he has an unsupported Intel video card. Hope not but that's my guess. -
Also try downloading and running malwarebytes.

Dune-er-oonie,
Try running msconfig and only running the necessary services.
I tried searching for slutions for this problem and haven't found anything yet. -

QR,
Creative cards suck. This crackling/popping issue has been around for years. YEARS! I had gotten a xifi extreme gamer, hit the crackling and popping issue and found out that it's a pretty major issue.
Lots of suggestions on how to fix it but none of them worked for me.
I went back to my onboard sound and have had no issues since.
My suggestion is anything but a Creative card.
They stink, stink on ice! -

You choose the right server? Check each server and see if they're somewhere else. Hopefully that's the problem.

Oh you didn't indicate that the problem was fine one day and broken the next. I thought you were brand new to the game. Sorry. New drivers can't hurt. Any of your friends or family members computer literate?
Generally the steps are:
1. Download the latest ATI drivers for your card
2. Boot into Safe Mode and remove the current drivers
3. Reboot into normal mode
4. Install the new drivers
I have always had Nvidia cards so I'm not sure how the ATI drivers differ.
If you don't want to do the driver upgrade you could try running the game in Safe Mode and see if it lets you in. You can do that by starting the game and clicking on the Safe Mode checkbox.
Another thing you can try is run msconfig and disable all of the non Microsoft services (only run what's needed), reboot then try the game.
However if you're not that comfortable making these kinds of changes I suggest working with a friend or family member on this kind of troubleshooting. For example you may lose internet access and not know how to get it back.
Best,
Fitz -
Your video driver is 2 years old. Try upgrading it.
