-That my daughters can finally have their own accounts (granted they're under my master account) and it's not breaking the bank for them to play.
-It's also a great way to reward them for chores and whatnot, because I can add points to their accounts for them to have fun with.
-The fact that I can pick and chose what I buy in costume packs
Quote:What haven’t you liked?
-That it's luck of the draw what hair length you get with your hats
-That by the time I get up to my Tier 9 rewards, the armour I want will be gone, unless I drop at least 100 MORE dollar into the market.
EDIT: Did the math, needing 11 tokens to get the full set (so 8 more to get the full tier 8 and my last tier 7 and then 3 for the set) Last I checked, one gets a free token once a month, as well as for every 1200 points spent.
Let's say it takes me a month to scrounge up the money, so one token is out of the way, leaving me with 10 more to go.
10x1200=12,000 points.
At the costs shown at the market, I would have to spend 150.00 to get my armours. (This does not make The Firemoth a happy puppy.)
I've already dropped 100.00 in there, plus my subscription fees for each month...this is not making me feel like a VIP
-The prices on the Paragon market essentially make it so I, as a VIP, have to go and purchase more points over my monthly stipend to get anything decent.
Quote:What can we do to add even more value to our VIP subscription?
-Either raise our monthly point stipend, or lower the costs in the market for VIP players. (Like our own permanent mini sale!) I don't like that it would be cheaper for me to go premium and buy points at will than to stay a VIP. I'm only staying VIP because of that stubborn hope that I'm going to hit tier 9 eventually.
-Let me be a closed beta tester?(wishful thinking, I know)

Not sure how feasible some of these would be with the 3d models and whatnot, but a cool idea!

*goes to take out a loan on her kids*
I know I'm going to be buying some of these....I want that costume set. -
Quote:Same here. I kind of just hide out on Champion, but when I've strayed to the other servers, I've seen some weird stuff.....(Heck, I have to put up a disclaimer when I run with people because I KNOW I'm going to wind up saying some really weird out in left field stuff while in missions.)Hmmm...interresting, I found that on every server, not just Virtue.
Quote:Oh yeah, I think we can also agree that such things as Zeus never existed (or if they did, it's at least not the commonly held belief )
Quote:And all the talk about costumization, while I wouldn't do it, what if that's what the player wants? Camo Bikini clad mercs!
Quote:Any idea that changes a power set based on the gender of your avatar isn't a good idea. Especially when they can do exactly the same thing with a female avatar MM instead of a male avatar MM. -

I won't relist all the clipping issues I've found, since they're already in the feedback and bug threads, but Devs, please take a look at this!
And the bustier has gaps in it if you have small to med breasts on the females...which gives me a sadI only have one big chested female toon, and she wouldn't wear a bustier.
-
Since you started your post with your gender and orientation, I will too.
I'm a female who happens to be attracted to both genders, and am happily married.
I have no problems with cheesecake (although the real life stuff....I'm allergic to), I just don't like it that because I voice that I'm tired of the same "sexy" stuff over and over, that I obviously want to make my girls look like they belong in a biker bar eating broken glass and beating up men.
Yes, there are options that have been around for 7+ years so I don't have to have cheesecake toons, but....how did that quote go.... Those are to the point of qualifying for "Old and Busted", and I would like some "New Hotness" options that aren't oversexed.
Not to mention, I don't like it that there's massive amounts of cheesecake but hardly any sexy bishi or beefcake options for guys. I play both genders, mostly guys, but I play both genders on this game. I don't like that I only have a few options for faces that I find "sexy", while there are several female faces that I could easily find "sexy". Same with bodies, yes, there is the option for ripped or smooth chest for bare chest, but most of the other tops under tight are completely ripped. I want more options with the smooth muscle, as most of my guys are lean/lithe instead of steroid popping gym thugs (yes, went to extremes, but for some reason that image fit in my head best)
Oh, and on the subject of closets. Joyrock and I have exactly half and half in our closets, and the only reason I have as much on my side as he does, is I prefer to hang up all my shirts. The dresser itself that we use is 2 drawers for him, one drawer we share for socks, and 1 drawer for pajama stuffs that we share....so in essence, he has more clothing than I do. And for shoes...
1 pair of tennis/running shoes
1 pair of motorcycle boots
1 pair of nice boots
>5 pairs of slippers stashed around the house, most of them men's slippers.

Quote:And they would get reported, just like the people who already go around doing it in the game. While I'd like female pets I kind of agree with Devs on this one. I know a number of people who only want them so they can dress like Pimps and go around pretending to mistreat them. We get enough of that 12 year old stuff already, we have WoW for all the immature players.
Sadly, like the devs are assuming, you're making it sound like a large majority of the player base would do this, instead of just a small chunk of them that seem to forget the rules.
One thing that CoX does have, versus some other games I've played, is a player base with functioning brains. They understand that the game is T for Teen, and not M for Mature, so to do things of the nature the Devs have described would go against the guidelines set out for the players. -
Quote:Electric Armour would help with the high Endurance costs of the Titan Weapon set.
Stone Armour has always been highly durable, and with all the AoE in the set, it might work better than a single target set while solo or on a small team.
Both are Resist heavy armours, so they'd help your survivability when your Defence has been compromised.
I feel your pain, by the way. I cant stand auto-hit powers that floor your Defence, as my primary tanks tend to be Shield Defence (which, of course, is not available here).
Agreed -
Thanks everyone who's replied so far! I'd love it if we could get more people behind this, so if you happen to know of anyone who's agreed with this, or thought this would be a good idea...think you could send them this way?
The more people we have behind this, the more they will see that this is not a one off, that people actually would like to see this happen.

Congrats to a fellow author! I've got the book's page marked and will snag it shortly! (Once I get paid...everything went to bills this week)
Wish I could snag the PDF versions off of LULU (last I checked you tended to get more money that way)

Quote:But at the same time, they can't cry out "We're not going to do this because it would show women being objectified/misused!" and turn around and give us a set where the females look dolled up and look more like a damsel in distress than an actual fighter. Especially when they assume that the MM pets would just be bikini girls with guns. I presented several different options of NON-bikini style girls at the Pummit, and felt like I was just brushed off with the "that would objectify the women" and "someone, somewhere, might do something naughty with them".And then you'd have people crying sexist all over again, and saying limiting of concepts.
Further proof, the devs cant win.
People brought up that the ERPers would misuse them...but if this is a T for Teen game...they shouldn't even be ERPing to begin with IMO. I didn't like having to explain to my youngest daughter when she hopped onto Virtue (I didn't know she'd jumped from Joyrock's and my home server of Champion) that the people who were messaging her for....things....needed to be reported.
PS: Not dissing on Virtue, I play on there myself, that just happened to be the server she wound up going to. (Please don't get the pitchforks!)

Quote:I've been trying to get the word out to everyone I know/play with, short of spamming broadcast channels in my server...we need to have more people see and post in this thread. i've gotten these reasons time and again also, along with "it's a minority of players that this would satisfy and we have to think about the greater good", and about scantily clad lady-parts: "this is what is expected from us from the players". right, the players who you dont want to give female masterminds so as not to objectify them... you give them female objectifying clothing.
I think my husband put it best though, that more than likely there are some rather severe Paragon City and Rogue Isles labour laws being broken by not allowing women to work with masterminds.
Here's another way of looking at it, I guess. The devs say they don't want to objectify the females, or to make them into harems, etc etc....yet they have been coming out with objectifying costumes...including a harem like outfit (Genie).....to use their own statement they "can't have it both ways" -
Quote:Agreed!More to the point... Masterminds are lame as solo combatants. So what's really more empowering to females - a woman who has no choice but to let an army of men do all the fighting for her, or a character who relies a bunch of butt-kicking female thugs/soldiers/ninjas to do their violence?
We all know it - the opportunities for misogyny in the game are already without limits. The lack of female mastermind lackeys saves nothing.
I really want to see them fix the things that are withheld from males too. I'm not talking corsets or stockings (c'mon, we all know the prospective market for those is itty-bitty). But what about the so-called "tiaras" that women get, which are just headbands in a style that's actually quite suitable for barbarians or knights? What about the female "headband" detail, for that matter? What about the cloud and dragon bracers? What about shoulder pets? What about long freaking hair?
If the argument is that women miss out on lovely the stuff like the costume pack coats and boots because they have more options, then the obvious answer is to use give-and-take. I'll take your steampunk sleeves and Baron coat, you can have cool martial arts bracers and a haircut that isn't short bloody back and sides.
Quote:Okay let us start with one that Masterminds have been asking about for years.. Aside from some paranoid delusion that allowing us to have the option to have female minions will result in the end of the known universe. Why cant my female MM have female pets!
please let me clarify that years back the answer was that the dev team was afraid that perverted males would use binds or marcos to have female minions bowing at their feet and this would be very sexist. Then the same group churns out one costume set after another that denies females some very cool things the males have while giving us one scanty option after another.
I have brought it up at the last two events I've been to, and the same answers keep getting given....so perhaps if we get enough people behind the idea, something might get done (and they see this isn't a 1 off) -
Diabetus....
But would still eat a small portion.
Potato and Ham chowder -
Adorable woodland creatures for pets...that when set to aggressive or defensive, get glowing red eyes and foam at the mouth!
Tier 1 pets- Rabbits
Tier 2 pets- Deer
Tier 3 pets- Bear -
Thanks for getting this up so fast!

Quote:I grabbed the coat and chestpiece for the guys, and the hair for the girls (because I've wanted that hair since they put it in the steampunk pack, but without the hat).Steam punk (despite the texture/tint problems) and Barbarian were the last costume sets I purchased. Barbarian was well balanced by archtype, lots of skin, but it fit so no problem. I've bought two pieces (shoulders, belt) from the COT set and the rest didn't suit me but seemed okay.
I was unhappy with the archtype balance for magic, which at least was well done artistically, but am more unhappy with the balance for this one. At least magic had the option for full body coverage if wanted and great witches hats. This set... that's not a cowgirl - that's a saloon girl. In modern day terms she'd be working a corner somewhere or at the Mustang Ranch.
When I read the announcement I was excited. Then I saw the pictures and was disappointed, wishing I could have the male's outfit for my female toon. Then I took a closer look and got mad.
I was ready to buy more tp to get this until I actually SAW it. The only piece I can see using is the belt. I wonder how many other players feel the same?
Other than that....nope, nothing I wanted, and the bustier doesn't clip right unless you have med to large boobs (and almost all of my toons are A/B cups for my females) so I didn't get it. -
Quote:*Adds her name to the bottom*Zwillinger, please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm going to have to give you and Paragon Studios some rather unpleasant feedback. It isn't directly about the game, or even this costume set. It is more about how Paragon Studios does business.
I like the game. I really do. However Paragon Studios seems to have some fairly unrealistic goals currently and we're seeing the results of trying to adhere to those goals. For the rest of this post, the "you" I'm referring to is Paragon Studios, not "you, Zwillinger".
---------------------------------------
An open letter to Paragon Studios:
You have set a goal to produce enough for the market to have something "new" on it every week. However you don't seem to have allowed yourself any time to correct anything but the unmitigated disasters based on feedback.
Your customers aren't all idiots, some of them can smell a sub-standard "feature" a mile away. Some of your customers are patient and don't expect miracles (despite what you might think). However they do expect to be treated in a fair manner (problems: VIP Perks awarding in an obfuscated fashion, EU players not being able to buy year subscriptions, Central/South American customers having to deal with a less than savory company that doesn't carry a full range of products, etc).
There seems to be a "We know best." attitude pervasive at your company. Even when feedback is fairly uniform across a broad-spectrum of players, you go ahead despite the feedback and tell the players "just test it" when testing if something is "working as intended" isn't the point. When your players tell you that the intention itself is wrong, that is the point where you need to step back and open a discussion as to "why" it is wrong. It isn't a cue to push ahead and fix things 6-8 months down the road "when you have the time".
You need to allocate less time to throwing everything including the kitchen sink at us. You need to allocate some time or people to bug fixes and adjustments, something that clearly doesn't have enough time allocated to do well. If you feel the need to disregard feedback, explain why. You have had over 7 years with this live product and the times you got into the most trouble were when you didn't explain yourselves despite protests.
Again, I like the game. I've remained a steady subscriber since 2005. I've a lot of time (and money) invested in this game. I intend to continue to subscribe for the foreseeable future. Are you willing to invest your time in a manner that will make me want to continue to subscribe or will you continue to drive customers away?
Sincerely,
Snow Globe. -
Quote:*holds up hand* Female, right here (Joyrock can vouch for me on this one). While I do at times give my female toons "sexy" outfits, I would like to see other options than just sexy after sexy coming out.
I would also like to see a few more options for male toons, like more shorts/kilts or more options where the guy isn't so ripped he looks like someone airbrushed his abs. (I play about 70% male toons) -
-
Quote:Agreed. And the sets that DO have female models (Aside from KoA and CoT), only have one or two, and a lot of them are rather...well background fodder.Personally, I felt the last two sets almost made 'old maids' out of the female toons. I'm half expecting the next period costume set to be 'flapper' gear.
Buuuut... the main reason I wanted to post in this attention worthy thread is to point out that the entirety of the game has a sex-bias.
There's been a real under representation of females in NPC mobs that, IMO, goes hand in hand with the lack of female pet models for MMs.
I don't think there's a single female police officer between Paragon, RI and Praetoria and most of the enemy groups seem to be a boys only club (Wyvern, Sky Raiders, GBs, Malta, Tsoo, Trolls, Council, Prisoners, Lost, etc). Even some of the co-ed groups only have one female type in the whole faction (Hellions, Freakshow)
And I still fail to see why at least one pet per MM tier couldn't use the female model.
