I wasn't exactly sold on that build, but I did take from it some ideas and have modified mine. not sure if the defense is overkill but the end use is sustainable now even with AM down and the recharge is enough to keep that attack chain going. What do you think? Is this a step in the right direction, or did I totally miss the mark again?

  2. Hello all,

    First off I know this build is a mess, but I am chronically bad at them. I am generally looking for decent recovery, damage and most importantly high Def (the only of the three I managed to achieve). I've posted my build below but none of it is set in stone except hover so as to maintain three dimensional ranged blasting.

    This is my first defender since about issue 10 or something. I need help! Please take a look and make any suggestions you can think of. I'm not asking anyone to go into mids and make me a new build but where should I start, what should I scrap?

    I implore you, great minds of the COH forums. Help a wayward hero.

  3. Out of curiosity can we ballpark a release date for the issue now that open beta is here? Month or so?
  4. I'm in the same boat. I can get on the beta, but it says it can't access my account information so I can't really toy around with any of the new power-set content. I heard over the help channel in-game that this is an issue for people who have just newly installed the beta, is that true? I'm not feeling too impatient, but it would have been nice to try some stuff out before the double XP starts since I'll be on a the regular servers for that.

    As an aside, is resistance considered to be superior or inferior to def? I used to love willpower as a set back when it was first released but haven't played it since returning to the game after a multi-year hiatus.
  6. Wow. I'm pretty glad I asked! The biggest shame is that by trying to build on my own after about three years away from the game is that not only did I apparently make a huge mess of it but I wasted millions and millions of inf!

    I'm really pleased to hear that the toon is salvageable, however.

    As I mentioned I'm not a mids guy, but I'm still seeing my def capped for S/L/E/N. Aside from pure psi attacks, shouldn't I be more or less alright? Is it just that Aracnos, as was said already, has substantial to-hit buffs?
  7. I've never been a big mids guy, but after having some problems with my ice tank getting hit more often than I'd have liked I plugged the build in to Mids. In the program it shows the defenses as what I think are soft-caped but when I look in the combat tab in-game, I see things like this:

    "Bane Spider Commando MISSES! Mace Beam power had a 37.80% chance to hit, but rolled a 97.73."

    or

    "Bane Spider Scout MISSES! Poisonous Ray power had a 69.48% chance to hit, but rolled a 90.37."

  8. Hello lades and gents. I've never really spent too much time on the forums, but after a prolonged absence I thought maybe it was best to appeal to COH minds better than mine. I've got a few toons at 50 who haven't seen play for about 800 days, so when I went to review the builds I didn't really remember what I was looking at.

    Now, some of the later powers are just empty and looking at my inf, I think I just ran out of money mid build.

    That said, I've never been a great min/maxer anyway. Help and opinions would be greatly appreciated!
