  1. No warnings that the event has a forced level cap of 29? Heading in with IO sets left me with basically unslotted powers against the AV class encounters.
  2. Basically my feelings sum up what everyone else is saying. The PvP zones work under such different rules that you just can't casually go in and play. If my level 40 brute can handle large spawns of Arachnoids in Grandville missions, why does he get mauled by smaller spawns of Arachnoids in Warburg?

The rewards are either too rare (PvP purps) or too useless (Bust your butt in Siren's Call and you too can get a SO!). The Reputation system requires you to either go solo and hope you don't get teamed up on, or join a team and get such tiny gains that the natural degradation nullifes it by morning. Also, why *does* Reputation degrade?

The only real fun I've had with PvP are Gladiator fights, since those are much less dependant on AT and more skill related. Especially with a 'nothing worth more than 150 pts' rule for huge brawls.
  3. The process is still too random for me to consider any using merits on, even the standard ones. At best chance it's still only a 33% shot to get what I want from a 3 piece set if I spend 30 merits. I'll try it if I get the converters in drops and I can find a cheap crafted IO on the market, but I'm not paying for them.
  4. Here's another vote to make older Mayhems and Safeguards available via flashbacks. It's not fun having to continually check in PO's or Cap's global channel if A) Someone's actually doing paper missions and B) willing to take a teammate, especially on the lower population servers. Most newbie characters seem to be going through Praetoria these days.

    Email problems

I'm having this problem, too. I have nothing in my email box and I cannot send an email to my own global name.
  6. Trip Report: It started off with whoever was playing Kadabra spawning at a ferry in Cap, begging for help. We had to have him clarify which ferry, since we were waiting at the Midnighter Club/University/Market area. At the outset, there was 6-8 villains, mostly 50s, who promply got routed by the spawned level 54 CoT mage and Nightmare EB teams. After a few hospital trips and Arachnos Drone pulls, Kadabra (level 20) starts autofollowing someone and the procession starts North. More CoT Archmagi spawn in the middle of the lake, and we have to stop and fight rather than try and get Kadabra to the Club.

By this point there were a few more players in the zone, so deaths were less frequent. Eventually we get to the Club/University courtyard and more ambushes spawn, and boy howdy nothing spells fun like dozens of level 54 CoT bosses throwing mezzes and debuffs around. At some point a Blaster spawns, the much hyped "Disciple of Lilitu." (with the period in the name, of course), and is promptly obliterated. I didn't catch the level the blaster was, but between the super speed and stealth it was using I didn't see much of anything. I was returning from hospital trip #5 when the event ended, so I don't know if we won, we lost, or the CoT mages moved 15 feet closer to the drones.

If this sounds a bit negative, I'm sorry, but I was hoping for something better. I appreciate the effort, though, don't get me wrong, but with no new official content since September and lackluster Winter and Spring events I'm starting to get depressed. A plain Rikti event would have been more fun, or maybe even throwing Lusca in the water west of the ferry for us to deal with. Whoever was controlling Kadabra did little more than soak damage, use chat macros, and ask for healers on a low population server. Bonus points to Niviene for dropping a spawn of CoT mages on us after the event ended, real classy.
  7. Yeah, I'm trying again to get this silly badge, and figured people might want in on easy merits. Seriously, it's 8 merits for maybe 20 minutes of work.

Sunday Night, 8PM Central time (9 Eastern), Cap Au Diable. I'm hoping to go through it a few times so more people get shots at the badge/merits/canes.

Sadly, transferring is not really an option. I've been leading a Villain SG for 4 years now and banked just over a million prestiege, and my character name is probably taken already. He's a 50 with over 600 badges.
  9. In that case, I'll be opening presents in Cap tonight, for the next few hours or so.
  10. I've been wanting to get that badge on my main villain since the event started, but it seems like usually the server's too quiet to get enough to seriously challenge the event. Either I'm not in the right zone or on at the right time, so I figured I'd ask when and where is the best time to show up?
