Hello all.
I usually play Scrappers but a friend and I came up with an idea for a duo. I've decided to go with Kin/Son for my Def but I have no clue what I'm doing with him!
After looking through the boards a bit, I see a lot on concern over KB and not as much as I'm used to about End. I'm and endurance addict and can't imagine not having a surplus!
I'm really just looking for build advice do's and dont's. I saw some posts saying that the Fitness pool can be skipped...that's just insane to me...being a Scrapper and all. That's why I'm here though...perhaps I need to shift my thinking a bit and I'm hoping you guys can help me.
I would very much appreciate a general build example that I can use as a starting point. As I said, this toon will mainly be used in a duo with some reguar teaming and very little soloing at all. I'd like to focus on running for his travel power so either Super Speed or just using Siphon Speed is fine with me. Almost all of my other toons have SJ but I can see where CJ and Acrobatics might be necessary with this build...and I'm ok with that if it is.
I'm not looking to go crazy with IO sets on this toon at all...juts regular IO's when I get enough inf to afford them.

That was the only thing I was using AE for...making money off of tickets...ah well. I've only run AE once since I16 hit...wow...doesn't really seem worth the time now...

I was thinking that since I wanted the lvl 30 Steadfast that I needed to start in that bronze group...well...it made sense at the time seeing how the next bronze group starts at lvl 30...heh...

I tried it but I didn't get one...and I tried quite a bit. I'll give it another shot as saving 18 - 20 million inf is always worth it! Now that I think of it, I think I was rolling on the bronze 30+ catergory...hmmmm...I'll try again. Thanks!

I'm starting to think that you're right about having the unofficial version but at the same time, I don't see how that could be since I'm downloading off of the official page.
In the unofficial, Super Jump was showing up before Combat Jumping...I know they have "fixed" this since then for the official version.
I managed to find a temporary work around by just alt+clicking on Adrenalin Boost and selecting Physical Perfection. It works but then Energy Torrent says that it's not available in game this way.
Who knows what's it doing to the numbers......... -

Ok, here's the latest build. Thanks for all of your input on this guys. I was trying to avoid paying 20 mill for the Steadfast but I just happened upon a 60 mill IO and sold it...boom...Steadfast hehe.

I deleted the mids that I had, went to the titan website, downloaded it again, made the build from the ground up and I'm still running across the same problem.If you made that build with the unofficial version, even though the official version will open it, it will show up like that. Any build you made with any new power or power set on the unofficial version, has to be redone on the official version or it will read as the buggy build that is caused using the unofficial version. I had to delete the old mids, the unofficial mids, and any builds I made or altered with the unofficial version that had new powers.
Just for the heck of it, could you give me link to where you got yours from...I'm out of ideas here...I'm sure it's the same link in this thread...I followed that one at first and then the one posted on the titan site... -
I dont' think so. Just in case you were right, I went ahead and downloaded it again...same problem. Not sure what's going on...

I am at 44.2 for my melee def and 42.3 for aoe def. I have about 23 million inf, most of which is going to some of the sets in this build. It's not a very expensive build but I just wanna hit the soft cap for now...I'll worry about more expensive slotting late in my toons career.
It's a theme toon so that's why Energy Torrent is slotted up the way it is and I'm only running the Attack Vitals combo.
Can anyone help me rearrange this a bit to get to the soft cap?
I'm not sure but from what I've read, I may have Physical Perfecion a bit over slotted...suggestions are welcome. I'm kind of an endurance hog...I admit it!

Something is up with the Body Mastery pool.
Energy Torrent says that you must be lvl 47 and have two other powers from the pool before you can select it. This works as long as you don't include Physical Perfection. If you combine either Conserve Power, Laser Beam Eyes or Focused Accuracy with Physical Perfection, you are still not able to select Energy Torrent at lvl 47. You can only select it if you have 3 powers from the pool and not 2 as stated.
Is there something I'm doing wrong here or is this an error?

I'm having the same problem deciding between MA/Regen and MA/SD. I have a name and costume picked out for the toon and I've remade him 5 or 6 times now because I can't make up my mind and I don't want both.
I have a lvl 50 MA/WP so I'm familiar w/ the end problems that MA can have. So, I thought Regen would be great but, it's so freaking clicky...although, I do have a lvl 41 Kat/Regen and he's awesome so I know that I can live with it.
SD sounds like fun and I hear great things about Shield Charge but I'm concerned about end consumption...even with I16's Phsyical Perfection.
I mainly team with some soloing here and there. I don't have a ton of inf but my market fu has improved very much as of late. Most of my toons are sitting around 20 - 50 million which is huge for me! ...getting better...

They exist to require additional power choices in order to get the greater benefits of the higher tier powers. If you didn't have to take the prereqs, can you honestly tell me that anywhere near the same number of people would take Swift or Hurdle? The fundamental balance behind Stamina (and many of the 4th tier powers) includes eating up 2 other power slots. Tough and Weave are incredibly potent and pretty much everyone could (and probably would) fit them in if they didn't have to take any of the prereqs. Hell, Tough could quite easily see a drop in popularity considering it doesn't really do much for low resistance powerset combos.
While I've never thought that Cryptic was particularly good at balancing anything, how they incorporated the power pools was actually quite well done. You have to figure out whether Stamina is worth the 2 previous power choices. You have to figure out whether you're willing to waste a power choice getting a power that is largely useless if you want Tough and Weave. If the higher tier powers no longer required that choice, you'd be getting rid of a necessary balance point to those powers and that is not a good thing.
I always thought there should be more powers available to choose from the primary and secondary to encourage even more diversity between characters. We would still have a set number to choose but you could make multiple versions of the same primary/secondary without everyone being a clone or near clone of everyone else. That's just wishful thinking though...I really have no major problem with the current state of things...I just hate picking powers that will never get used because they are just...well...not good enough to be used. Boxing should be used to punch someone in the face...hard...not just as a set mule.
I still think it's absolutely ridiculous that your basic, staring attack Brawl is so weak. I see no reason why a good ole' punch in the face shouldn't be able to do more than what it is set at or be effectively upgraded to do more than it currently does. The same goes for the starting ranged power...like throwing knives. Near useless after a few short levels. What fun is that? Again, I understand why it is that way Im just voicing an opinion here and nothing more.
I understand and agree with the need for prerequisite powers...I just think the current system could be slightly reworked in very small ways that would make it even better.
