  1. Here I am.. rolling another alt. After a Ice/Nrg Tanker and a Dark/Rad Defender, this time I'm rolling a Scrapper. As I wanted something different from the typical (even if uber and fun) Spines/Regen, I was thinking of a MA/DA or Spines/DA. I do want to PvP later on (L30+) so I was wondering if DA can do well. I've allways been a fan of Dark sets (even if some people say it suks for PvP) and according to the description of the powers I really think they should do nicely. Could anyone suggest a build or help me decide between Spines and MA. Thanks in advance.

    -Reg numbers

I didn't. Just debuffed Karken with Tar Patch and Darkest Night then attacked him. I guess Howling Twilight can exceed LR or at least debuff equaly. Slotting HT with 3RechRed SO's + Hasten should make it perma or fast enough to keep -reg on.
  3. False_Fiction

    -Reg numbers

I've just tested Transfusion, Twilight Grasp and Howling Twilight on Kraken (Giant Monster). With my Troller L50 transfusion was not a help at all. Kraken's life was 100% all the time. Then I changed to my lowbie Dark defender and tried TG on him. No effect at all or minimal. HT is the only power from Dark that seems to debuff *A LOT* his regeneration. However the recharge is still long on my toon. Then one Rad troller appeared and made me feel bad and useless with his bloody lingering radiation. But at least we took the git down eheh
  4. Even with Transference I think Stamina is a must. Specially if you got toggles like leadership.
  5. Once your a Regen I don't think you'll need Siphon Life. Fast Healing, Reconstruction, Dull Pain and Instant Healing should be enough. The only situation where you'd probably need another heal is fightning AVs or being a suicidal scrapper and throwing urself into a mob of 9 purples or something. But thats why there are Defenders for
  6. Yes it is a nice debuff but thats why there are Rads and Darks around We do a pretty good joob with Tranafusion, Speed Boost, Siphon Speed, Transference and FS alrdy. Probably he can pick some other power like hasten/leadership. That's just my opinion tho

Humpf I didn't copy you I thought u were Rad/Dark :P Ehehe. Hows it going mate? Btw Faulty what powers from Rad did you pick? So far I only have Neutrino. Probably I'll get Irradiate, Cosmic Burst, Neutron Bomb.. and who knows Atomic Blast for teh fun. Thanks for the feedback
  8. Hello mate. For now I can describe the powers for you and maybe later I'll post my build in here.

    Illusion

Spectral Wounds and Blind - These are your direct attacks. Spectral Wounds does good damage and Blind is a single target hold (wich offers some damage aswell). Usually it's better to hold the foe first with Blind and then attack with Spectral Wounds (so you'll inflict double damage).

    Deceive

You confuse a single foe, making him attack his own partners. I don't have it in my build but it is useful. You can use it to take some annoying bastards out of battle. I loved to use it against Field Generators (the shield would protect you and ur mates) and Sappers (the git would drain the end of his partners).

    Flash

Your AoE hold. I must say, at higher lvls I don't use it that often. But pick it anyway. It makes things much easier.

    Superior vs Group Invisibility

I've picked Group Invisibility at low lvls. It's good to skip some annoying foes or stealth missions. Later on I respeced it off and picked Superior Invisibility + Recall Friend. It's up to you really.

    Phantom Army

Here is one of the reasons why many people go to Illusion. You can summon 3 uber phantoms that can't be killed. I use it to start a battle. I send the phantoms into the mob and let them take the aggro. Some people slot it with accuracy, damage and recharge. I can't remember my slots right now.. but I think its 1Acc,2Dmg,3Rech. I'm considering to respec and change it to 3Rech only.

    Spectral Terror

AoE fear. I can't remember any foes who can resist fear. It is a good power but not a must have.

    Phantasm

The Holy Grail of the set. I love this *******. Pick it. Slot it. Love it.

    Kinetics

    Tansfusion

Great AE heal. You need to hit a foe to make it work tho. So 2Acc + 3Heal + 1 Rech should be the best slotting.

    Siphon Power

It offers +20% dmg to you and your team while weakening target's strenght. Pick it at low lvls. You probably will end up respecing it off after getting Fulcrum Shift.

    Repel

A PBAoE knockback (yes it is knockback. the name can be deceiving - blame the Devs). Probably the most serious players wouldn't pick it. It drains your End per foe hit and usually Tankers and Scrappers hate this power. I'm not a serious player, I'd rather have some fun. It is useful. You can take a boss (of any lvl) out of battle by knocking im back against a wall for example.

    Siphon Speed & Inertial Reduction

I lov'em both. Siphon Speed gives you temporary super-speed and +20% recharge while slowing down the target (yea you need to hit a target to make it work). Inertial Reduction its similar to Super Jump (also temporary but no need of a foe to make it work). You can easily skip a travel power if you pick these powers.

    Increase Density

I don't have it. It makes a Hero resistant to Disoriend, Hold, Immobilize and Knockback while slowing him down a bit. It also adds some resistance to Energy and Smash dmg.

    Speed Boost

One of the main reasons that will get you manymanymanymany team invites. SB PLS! It is just uber.. It adds speed, end recovery and faster recharge to your allies. Pick it and slot it with 3EndModification SOs.

    Transference & Fulcrum Shift

These two powers are just.. UBER! With 3EndMod SO's tou can fill up all your end bar (k k.. maybe 90% of it). There are several ways of slotting it. 2Acc3EndMod1Rech is how I slotted it. Some ppl slot it with 1Acc2EndMod3Rech so they can have the power available faster. And the last power... The one! The only! Fulcrum Shift! It's awesome. It can add you and your mates a 300% (I guess this is the right number). 1 or 2Acc and 3Recharge will do it.

Well.. thats it. Hope it helps for now. Sorry about the bad english and probably some grammar errors. Soon I'll post my build. Have fun mate.

    -Reg numbers

Hio guys. Since the release of i7 Radiation defenders/trollers are now the most wanted in a team (especially to fight AVs). I've just been wondering wich is the difference of -reg between Lingering Radiation, Transfusion and Twilight Grasp. Personally I prefer Dark Miasma (and I'm currently running a Dark/Rad) but it seems most people don't really recognize the value of a Dark defender on a team. I can't say it is the most powerful but it surely is uber Well then.. the topic is now officially open for (friendly) discussion. Peace.

    Ice tankers??

Nice to know that One more thing.. Why do most ppl put 1rech on Hibernate instead of 2 or 3? Yes, 45seconds is little recharge time but sometimes, while fighting purples and stuff, you probably could use it more often.
  12. False_Fiction

    Ice tankers??

There's something I would like to know.. Can Ice tankers TANK and herd decently? I've been playing CoH for the last year (with a few months break, like most of CoH players) but I've never teamed with an Ice tanker, so I could take my own conclusions about it. My Ice tanker ir currently L19 and so far I'm not that well impressed. Maybe it is too soon to take conclusions, since I don't have SOs or stamina and the key-powers (especially hibernate) are still to come. Just wanted some expert opinion about it. Cheerios

    Ice tankers??

Hio folks. After two months of break, I decided to come back and create a ice/ tanker. I can't decide between warmace and energy for secondary. Any suggestions? Cheerios

    Tri-Form PB

Hio guys. Would u mind of giving me some suggestions about powers selection and respective slotting? I'm planning a Tri-Form PB. I'll probably play as Human most of the time, but I'm trying to take the best of Nova (slotting the AoEs) and Dwarf (to tank a little if needed) aswell. Here are the powers that I would take (don't look at the order pls.. I'll probably change it :P ). Cheereos

    Speed Boost Bind

Hey guys. I need an easy bind for Speed Boost. Is it possible to make something like this:

(imagine a team of 8 members)
Numpad1 - Speed Boosts Player1 of the team
    Numpad2 - Speed Boosts Player2 ...
    ...
    Numpad8 - Speed Boosts Player8

  18. Hum.. Ty for feedback. I have a L40 Ill/Kin wich is quite fun and easy to solo with. I was thinking of a PvP troller this time. Fire/Storm seems quite good, but I hate Fire powers (except the rabid monkeys). Another option would be Grav/Storm (I love singularity). Any other suggestions? ;P
  19. Ahoy! I'm about to start an Earth/Storm troller but first I wanted to check something. I've been told that Animated Stone (AS) is really slow (on movement and attacks). All I want to know is.. how slow? Does it moves as slow as a Granite tanker? And its attacks? Are as slow as Stone+Granite? I hope not. Any suggestions for another secondary power pool? Cheers

    Patron Powers

Ahoy guys. PPPs will come in no time. Wich type of corruptor are you and wich PPP will you pick? I'm a Rad/Kin corruptor and I'll pick Ghost Widow - Soul Mastery. Soul Drain + FS + Nuke = RAWRAGE!!

    Ghost Widow - Soul Mastery

Ghost Widow will teach you how to corrupt and utilize souls of the dead to damage and hinder your enemies.

    CORRUPTOR
Soul Drain: Using this power, you can drain the essence of all nearby foes’ souls, thus increasing your own strength. Each affected foe will lose some Hit Points and add to your Damage and Accuracy.

Dark Embrace: You tap into the energy of the Netherworld to protect yourself from damage. This Dark Embrace shrouds you and grants resistance to Lethal, Smashing, Negative Energy, and Toxic damage.

Soul Storm: Like Ghost Widow, you will be able to summon the souls of your victims to do your bidding. Soul Storm enraptures a single target, Holding them while their life-force is drained from their body. You must have one other Soul Mastery power before selecting this power.

Summon Mistress: Ghost Widow will assign a Fortunata Mistress for you to command. Arguably, the most powerful of the Fortunatas, these rare few have mastered numerous psychic abilities and have risen to the top of Lord Recluse’s beautiful Black Widows.

    Black Scorpion - Mace Mastery

Black Scorpion will give you access to an Arachnos Mace, and teach you how to use it in battle.

    CORRUPTOR
Web Envelope: The Executioner’s Mace can lob a modified Web Grenade. Upon impact, the Web Grenade expels a strong, tenuous, and very sticky substance that can Immobilize most targets in a wide area. This non-lethal device deals no damage and does not prevent targets from attacking, although their attack rate is Slowed. The Web can bring down flying entities and halts jumping.

Scorpion Shield: Black Scorpion’s technologies are impressive indeed. This energy shield grants you Defense to Lethal, Smashing and Energy attacks, as well as improves your Damage Resistance to Toxic damage.

Web Cocoon: The Bane Mace can fire a more powerful version of the common web grenade. The sinewy fibers of this grenade are strong enough to completely Hold one target. Targets able to resist the Hold are still likely to have their attack and movement speed dramatically Slowed. Web Cocoon can also bring down flying targets and prevent foes from jumping. You must have one other Mace Mastery power before selecting this power.

Summon Disruptor: Black Scorpion will grant you an Arachnobot Disruptor to command. Arachnobots were created by Arachnos Orb Weavers to take down particularly powerful super-powered threats. You must have two other Mace Mastery powers before selecting this power.

    Captain Mako - Leviathan Mastery

Captain Mako will embolden you with the knowledge of the Coralax and their mysterious powers over the seas.

    CORRUPTOR
School of Sharks: You can call forth a school of vicious Shark Spirits that will swim out in a cone formation and will encircle your foes, draining their spirit energy. The encircling Shark Spirits will immobilize most foes while they deal Negative Energy damage over time. Both you and the target must be near the ground for this power to activate.

Shark Skin: The power of the Leviathan Mako has shown you seems to have no end. Shark Skin improves your Damage Resistance to Lethal, Smashing and Cold damage.

Spirit Shark Jaws: You can summon a massive Spirit Shark that will attack your foe from below. The Shark will grip your foe with its massive jaws and attempt to Hold the target while he mauls it, dealing Lethal damage over time. Flying targets will likely be pulled to the ground. You must have one other Leviathan Master power before selecting this power.

Summon Coralax: Captain Mako will show you how to summon a Coralax Red Hybrid to do your bidding. The Coralax are humans who have been infected with living coral. You must have two other Leviathan Mastery powers before selecting this power.

    Scirocco - Mu Mastery

Scirocco will instruct you on the Way of Mu, ancient techniques that give access to the lightning-based powers of the ancient race.

    CORRUPTOR
Power Sink: Power Sink leeches Energy directly from the bodies of all nearby foes, draining their Endurance. Each foe you draw energy from increases your Endurance. If there are no foes within range, you will not gain Endurance.

Charged Armor: When you toggle on this power, you are surrounded by a charged field that makes you highly resistant to Smashing, Lethal, and Energy damage.

Electric Shackles: Electric Shackles binds a foe’s limbs, leaving the target Held and helpless. The target is drained of some Endurance and some of that Endurance may be transferred back to you. You must have one other Mu Mastery power before selecting this power.

Summon Adept: Scirocco will show you how to call upon a mystical Mu Adept to assist you. The Mu pulse with the blood of their slaughtered ancestors in their veins, and are well practiced in the dark arts. You must have two other Mu Mastery powers before selecting this power.

    Aim numbers?

Hio. Does any1 knows the real numbers of Aim? According to my planner its +100 acc and +62.5 dmg. However, I've been testing it and the dmg doesn't seem to increase that much. Maybe more like ~40%. And wich will be the downtime of aim with 3 rech SOs? Cheers :]
  22. Eheh. Sonic sets are quite nice (except the graphics and sounds). I'm L22 now and I picked Disruption Field. Tbh I don't like it much. I might respec it off and pick Assault and Tactics.
  23. Ahoy! Straight to the point..

1- Disruption Field and Liquefy. Are these powers any good? According to Liquefy's description I would certainly skip it
2- Howl - Should I pick it? I mean.. Shout does greater damage and the recharge time is the same (according to my builder).

    Cheers

    Brutes are not tanks.

Those figures are with SO's right?
    Seem reasonable to me.

Roll a diffrent set if you want higher def, EA has some nifty tricks up its sleeves later in the game. Making it all pretty balenced.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well I know brutes ain't tankers. I got a L40 SS/Stone brute myself, wich is probably the only secondary set wich allows u to tank. All I'm saying is that the defence is quite little. EA got some awesome "tricks" indeed but the defence could be increased. Thanks for the reply anyway
  25. Ahoy!

Going straight to the point.. I'm using the CoH Planner v1.5 and the numbers I get about kinetic and power shield are 20.25% defence against the various attacks (Slotted with 3 defbuff SO's). I really hope this numbers are wrong, cuz otherwise I'm quite dissapointed. Even if my DM/EA brute is only lvl6 (or 7.. can't remember), I can only imagine how squishy I'm going to be comparing to the other brutes. Maybe it's just because I'm used to granite.. but 20.25% def seems really low to me.

Anyway, pls comment on this and give some build suggestions aswell. Thanks ;]
