    50+ mil, NO TY.

Part of the problem is that there is no real money sink. Even with the 10 percent commission, there is constantly more money in the game than there was previously.

Hence, prices will be high for desirable and rare items, and will remain high, and get higher.

When I first started playing I thought 10 mill was a *lot* of influence. Now I don't get out of bed for less than 100 mill.

Some kind of sink is needed to bring the prices back down. We can't nerf drop values as that hurts new players considerably.

An easy answer would be a casino in pocket D with a 75% return rate, but I can't imagine that being implemented and it's a bit un-hero like ( perhaps red side then )

As for me, I'm mildly impatient with both selling and buying, but I do flip recipies sometimes. But, patience is a virtue. e.g. I'm picking up Lotg 7.5's at 35 mill once every couple of weeks, rather than paying 60 mill+ off the bat.

My ill/rad did cost over a billion though even with patience

    Assuming you survive the alpha

    [/ QUOTE ]Brute.

    <grins>

Where's the fun in being fairly sure that you are going to survive ?

On a side note, forgot to mention that the other plus side of /nrg is that the boss that you fail to drain you can normally perma-stun, whilst keeping everything else under with repeat applications of SC.

    Fahie
  3. Elec/nrg blasters are lots of fun for this.

"Powerboost, Aim, BU, SC, Ball lightning" sees most around you at zero end ( bosses excluded of course. )

Assuming you survive the alpha then it's very quick to mop up with energy melee.

One of my most enjoyable toons to play in that you very quickly get into a kamikazee insane playstyle, which is great as long the team are aware of this

    Thoroughly recommended.

    Store interface?

Any kind of interface that is sortable by chosen field ( level, type, availability ) would be great ... *especially* if such an interface could be ported to an item that acts as a "storefront" to the SG enhancement storage.

Having spent a good hour resorting the bins the other evening, a point and click interface would be amazing

    PFF

    [ QUOTE ]

Besides, if PFF's overpowered then I hate to know what you think of elude

    Remember ?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Ahh .. a simple miss-understanding

My point was that elude is almost up to PFF levels in PVP, but you can actually do things whilst it is on. A much more effective power IMHO.

  6. Fahie

    PFF

No .. where did I say opposite ?
Don't believe at any point I said that PFF was easier to hit through than PVP elude levels?

    PFF

    [ QUOTE ]
pretty much the opposit you said.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Where?

    [ QUOTE ]
Phase is on a 180 sec timer and cant be used like PFF to attack pop it , attack pop it etc etc.

    [/ QUOTE ]
Given the activation time of PFF then you're not looking at building up a very fast attack chain there are you?
They'll be hitting you back each time you drop it, and some of the time whilst it's up too.
They get in more hits than you do.

    PFF

    [ QUOTE ]
Sure forts are difficult to hit its their own defense.
But ppl say they are almost impossible to hit.

But as you said : FA >> yellow or buildup and it isnt very hard anymore.

Imo its the psi damg which almost no sets have def or resists against that make fort seem overpowered and not the defenses as many point out.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Back on topic ....

Jess has put it better than I can.

For completeness, I'll summarise my thoughts regarding PFF

1 : It's not impossible to hit through by any stretch of the imagination.
2 : Whilst it's up, your opponent can't do anything bar buff and heal themselves thereby contributing little to a running battle.
3 : It can be used, like phase, as a panic button. It is less effective than phase for this by a long chalk. Hence, it has a shorter recharge time.

Ergo, I *personally* do not believe it to be overpowered in the slightest.

    Fahie
  9. Fahie

    PFF

<sighs> I never said forts were impossible to hit, simply that they are difficult to hit.
Forts can interact with their environment whilst having high defense levels, with PFF you can't.
Whilst not interacting with your environment, you *can* still be hit with PFF up.
You seem to be under the ( incorrect ) impression that PFF equals invulnerable.

Remember, there's always a 5% chance you will hit anything that isn't phased.

As always Moghedien, you just seem to be spoiling for an argument rather than being interested in actually discussing your original point.

    That's my observation anyway.

    Fahie
  10. /unsigned for all the reasons above, which have been said far better than I could have put them

    Fahie
  11. Fahie

    PFF

But you were talking about it being game-breaking for raids ...ah ... just noticed the "base" bit before that, anyways ... moving swiftly along ( ahem )

/agreed that invis powers are useless pvp on anything other than a stalker

Back on subject, PFF is not even close to impossible to hit through. FA/yellows/no- acc-check debuffs ... all will see that PFF looking a bit tame very quickly.

PS *is* impossible to hit through, obviously.

Besides, if PFF's overpowered then I hate to know what you think of elude

    Fahie
  12. Fahie

    PFF

Because phase means you really can't be hit and PFF means you are *unlikely* to be hit.

I've lost count of the number of times I've been hit through PFF both PVE and PVP. A few faceplants here and there

It's certainly no more game-breaking in PVE than Invisibility.
And you can't click on glowies or TP friend whilst PFF is up.

Leave it as it is IMHO, both for PVP and PVE

No no, I just mean having the ability to buy the regular inspirations, rage, luck, etc as if you were standing next to the contact - except through the call feature.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Waaaaaaaay open to abuse.

Faceplant : call for rez? .. nice

More so though, given that insps are so cheap : Pop a full tray of purples, reds and yellows. Head towards that purple group. Keep buying them via contact whilst fighting.

I used to do something similar in the hollows, pop 4 purples, grab a purple group and drag them back to flux. Sit there popping inspirations and buying new ones until the group was dead. VERY quick xp.

A definite /unsigned from me i'm afraid unless you can work out a system that stops such abuse.

especially as you don't have to worry about being mez'd .

    [/ QUOTE ]

I think that may be the overriding point :P

    Fahie
  15. Not the authority on I13 pvp here, but surely a tray full of winds rather than cabs would sort this out.

This was always the downfall of -end builds in I12. If inspirations can beat it, it's not an overpowered build.

    I arena'd chilli's kin/elec around I11 and came to the same conclusion.

Happy to be proven wrong in I13, I just hate it too much to test

    Cookie !

Ok ... if you are not of the "slightly insane" persuasion, please skip on to the next topic.

After talking in a team tonight, I suggest that we replace the acronym TP with the word "cookie"

That way, we get to say for "cookie pls", "Anyone got a cookie so I can rez" and "I need a cookie to get to mish"

Obviously not a serious dev request, but would be nice to be in a team where cookies are requested

Perhaps something similar for SB ?

I agree that "holier-than-thou" attitudes in-game are irritating.

I had this happen when I first started my second account. Suddenly, I wasn't taken seriously in PUG's because of no vet badges :P

Conversely, the reverse is just as annoying.

When someone who has been playing the game a month or two starts dictating mission strategies and won't listen to polite constructive criticism, then that's highly irritating too.

i.e "We need to all run in and start hitting Ghostwidow in a big group and overwhelm her"

Im hoping this doesnt come across as an attack im just coming to the conclusion that its either a very long winded and convoluted wind-up / troller or maybe he is just playing a different version of CoX that everyone else is,

To say NOTHINg can compete on equal skill is just the way it is.

    Edited for correctness

    [ QUOTE ]

As you said you killed a fort on your spines/sr scrapper 3 times and the fort killed you 5 times, that doenst sound as if the fort was totally unbeatable (you said yourself your werent the best pvper either)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    <big sigh>
Did I say I was playing against the "best pvp'r in the world" ?

No .. I was playing someone of about the same skill level as myself, someone who I had beaten on the same toon pre I12. And I got 3 kills due to TS when ripper actually hit through.

I'm not the best, but I'm certainly no slouch either.

    [ QUOTE ]
So your "fact" is proven wrong by your own earlier statement :-)

    [/ QUOTE ]

  22. [ QUOTE ]
SS/ brutes and /SS tanks are the nemesis for forts and nw so are spines and broadsword scrappers.
They can kill forts and nw pretty easy.

The fact that your ill/rad cant pull a draw vs a fort doesnt mean no AT or set can defeat them, just that other sets can do it now.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    sighs ...

Please read earlier on the thread ref my spines/sr scrapper vs a fort.

Moghedien, you seem to be adamant that your point of view is right, despite several people, including some very good pvp'rs ( not including myself there ) advising that you may well be wrong.

It doesn't help when you don't seem to be reading everyones' replies in full.

Fact : Forts are top tier in PVP now, and nothing else can compete on an equal skill level and build.

    It's no longer scissors/paper/stone.

    Fahie
  23. [ QUOTE ]
noticed the defense in PvP isnt as high as in PvP.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Huh ??

    Sorry .. just nitpicking

    [ QUOTE ]
Btw Fahie if your ill/rad never lost arena, by your definition it was totally overpowered before I13 then :-)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Absolutely.

ill/rad and ice/rad ( as I have been swayed to ) were INSANE.

The difference being that I could call a draw with careful play against my nemesis AT's ( eg ice/nrg or em )

With forts, you can't even pull a draw out.

    [ QUOTE ]
But i guess you claim it wasnt cause only other players toons are overpowered as usual......

    [/ QUOTE ]

Read my other threads on the subject please before trying to put words into my mouth.

I have *never* claimed that my lack of I13 enjoyment was solely because my favourite pvp toon is now nerfed to hell-and-back.

My zonal *fun* pvp toons are on the back burner now too.
