All kidding aside, it baffles me every time I see someone refer to their character as their "toon"... Maybe it's because I'm a P&P RPGer and not a video gamer, but where in the heck did that originate? I think it sounds pretty silly.

The first place I heard 'Toon' used was on The Realm many years back, where it was common. Apparently, the 'toon' vs. 'character' thing largely depends on what your introduction to online gaming culture was. There isn't really much of a difference.

I had something like this happen to me, too, also in Port Oakes. The attackers were not related to any mission, story arc, or contact I had or had recently had. In fact, they had just been standing around like normal random foes before they started going after me. Once they started, they wouldn't stop, no matter how far away from them I got.

Edit: Note that my character was a Mastermind, not a Stalker.

Myslef and a friend, both Masterminds, have had this happen in Port Oakes. We thought it might be a bug where the mobs are getting aggroed on our henchman, because after the henchmen died, the mobs went away.

Yeah, that was awesome fun. Good job, all. Had fun trying to put the smackdown on Statesman, then the game crashed. When I came back, after some searching, there was a massive group of devs all together. Back Alley Brawler, Ravenstorm, Synapse, others. I could hardly touch them, but tons of fun.

You know, those goofy animal backpack-type things you see people carrying around.

I don't think you can make heroes fat, per se, but there IS a slider for the waist, so you can make yourself not so perfect anymore if you wanted. Though I only played for a little bit, so maybe you CAN look obese if you want. Didn't seem like it, though. I DO know you can make yourself extremely thin, though. Way too thin.

I haven't seen EVE. But there are so many sliders for changing your body and face in I4, and to some big extremes, we'll be seeing a bunch of very odd-looking heroes after the Issue comes out.

I've always thought th only thing CoH was missing in regards to character creation was face and body manipulation. And now they've done that.
If they could get the faces as impressive as EVE then they'd be absolutely on top of the gaming world.

Yes, quite impressive. I was able to play with it at WonderCon. So many freakin' sliders, it's insane.

More than the noobs loved it. I loved it because I'm an alt-aholic and get tired of having to wait until I get my travel power. So I leveled a few up to 14 on the WL.
