I'd rather have thematically correct music than to start up my music in another program and play with that going.As long as we have the ability to turn off the music (and we do) or have it fade (which we don't, but could), then I see no reason to have any time in the game that doesn't have mood music. It helps. A LOT.

Just recently I purchased 2.1 channel speakers (left, right, and subwoofer) and the difference is -remarkable- to be perfectly honest.
The bass "BOOM!" from a Superstrength KO Blow is intense. And it would likely easily overshadow any in-game music they added quickly...

Why not repurpose the game's music to play while you're in a mission(fix'd)? I've noticed that all missions(fix'd) have virtually no music (the occasional boombox?), and the game overall lacks that musical edge that really makes games into "an experience". I spend less time flicking past each individual section of an area of the city than I do in the sewers, and often don't hear the section's music in its entirety. I say repurpose the music, have it based on the area of the city rather than the rather small sections that I fly/run/jump/teleport past faster than I have time to get the music engrained into me.
Themesongs only work when they become engrained from hearing over and again. Play the original Zelda themesong and a vast number of people will know exactly which song it is. Mario themesong? It's engrained from hours of play under the same song, not by fleeting glimpses. This game needs music, and it needs it where we can hear it. -
Anyone ever create a bum character and wonder why you can't automatically set your idle to ;panhandle? Or maybe you have a raver that you want to put on ;dance? Doesn't it look out of character for them to have their hands at their hips, all hero-like? For some, the importance of having their cop munching on a donut or drinking coffee over looking heroic creates that bit of character that just makes things fun.
I say implement default idle animations with a /idle command and a menu in the animations. Easy stuff. Automatically idle to the last idle used perhaps? -
A nice build, alot of nifty gear. I'm not sure what's expensive these days, so this needs to be stripped of anything expensive. Those +regen and +recov probably have to go, huh. How can I keep my build without losing too much efficacy?

I need my recharge from sting, which is one reason for keeping ranged shot. Without it, I don't have that perma-hasten. I just need something to replace it. Probably just grab maneuvers.
Traded fallout for lingering. No point having it if I don't have vengeance.
Battle rez or 0.8 stam/sec... Now at this point, I'm torn. Conserve power is nice, but it's not perfect. Eh, I'll pop in Mutation for stam.

First, I'm already maxxed out for my 5% regeneration bonuses, which is why I was looking around. Second, this build is specialized in healing and buffing the ******* team. I don't want to solo, or even think of it, when I'm on an empath. It's really the worst waste of time I've ever heard of. I'd lose more exp and loot time trying to solo than if I just waited around for a group. Sad fact of life.

Is that really a choice?FYI, perma-hasten can be archieved by 6-slotting hasten with ~90% of global recharge. So, it's a matter of whether you want to make it perma or not, or you're ok with a few seconds on down time. I think it's a personal preference whether the extra 2-3 slots are worth it or not. Personally, I enjoy perma-hasten. Maybe as you said, I'm probably clueless and no idea how to play the game.

Let's assume I have no inf and I'm playing for cheap (I'll probably just change my sets later). Also, let's assume that you have no clue, as you 5 slotted hasten with the same ******* Rech redux. A 3 stack is already heavily softcapped, and two slots could be used elsewhere. I'm not even going to try figuring out what kind of crazy you are.

My emp/dark build started as an emp/elec build that I stripped down. Now it needs help with slotting and placement, and I got lost. I'm trying to do as much damage mitigation as I can by area disables and other things (Pit, tentacles, etc). I also hold the belief that vengeance is warranted just as much as rez is. Pop ven and the whole team has just gained a huge def bonus. That blaster that got one shotted just saved the whole team, and increased their damage.
Oppressive Gloom: Yes. An AOE toggle stun that does a whole 3 damage every 2 seconds to the player. I doubt that will cause issues for what it can do (Not sure if it stacks).
Also, do the heals depend on the caster's max health?

Prices wouldn't be obscene if players didn't pay them. Simply put. And players wouldn't pay if the money wasn't there. People sold stuff, made money, paid more than other people for stuff because they "had to have it" and they had money afterall, and this created supply and demand. Except that you have no price reference.
This is currently not a real economy, no matter how you look at it. It's better, but without a price reference there's no way to balance prices. Sadly, people will pay 10mil for an IO that they could buy the recipe and mats for 2mil. There's no skill for creating IOs, so an 8mil service charge is unwarranted. People are just stupid.
if the price history was more like a stock ticker with a day's median price and volume, and showed the top 5 bids and sells, prices would self-mediate. It has been done (rather successfully) before (Eve-Online). As is, it's a chip off the old WoW block(EDIT: Except COH doesn't have the Auctioneer mod). If I wanted to play a system based on WoW, I'd play WoW.

I'd much rather have the capped defense than the other things you mention. I say this as a player with hundreds of hours playing a fire/kin in a variety of different configurations. I'm well aware of the trade offs and what powers need accuracy, recharge, etc.
I'm sure you're thinking that because seismic smash has less recharge, it's up less, and therefore the character is less effective. However, you'll find that with capped defenses, your style of play will change. Flashfire becomes less important, fire cages more so. You can literally kill mobs with fulcrum + fire cages and hot feet alone.
It's your character and ultimately you have to decide what's best for it. I did what I could in the limits of your budget. My fire/kin doesn't have the budget limitations you have and therefore doesn't have to compromise on recharge/accuracy on stuff like seismic smash. But if I needed to make such choices, such decisions are reflected in the build I posted.
would it be better to have that defense from combat jumping, or greater hp increase from Earth's embrace? You can get 25% more heal from the initial burst and 12.6% more hp using Miracle. Not sure if that would be more helpful or not, but it would be a nice ***-saving move... Assuming you have less than 3 seconds to live, or you're not in range of a transfusion. *shrug* It's a stretch and I like brainstorming/learning.
EDIT: I just researched the attack mechanics. You could have just told me that the base hit was 50% on players, not 100%. It's not minmaxing when you're that close to perfect miss. My thoughts were:
100 - 43 = 57% hit
100 - 45 = 55% hit. Pointless.
New thoughts now:
50 - 43 = 7% hit.
50 - 45 = 5% hit. Huge difference. -
I looked through and found 2.2 def to smashing/lethal to be minmaxing behaviour. I'm sure that at some point having 50% extra regen will save my *** something pure more than 2.2 more miss, not to mention the other barely increased numbers in recovery and recharge being that little bit more chance to avoid "**** happens".
I also moved the damage/recharge in Hot Feet over to a resist aura on the pets. Negligable, but it could once again make that difference, and Hot Feet damage was heavily softcapped.
Why did you put Smashing Haymaker into Seismic Smash? Please don't say you gimped the rech and accuracy of a big damage ability just so you could have that inching small bit of defense tacked on. Minmaxing is only effective if you're getting those last few bits close to perfection.
Also popped the +def from steadfast protection into tough. It doesn't need the recharge.

Started with a basic build, changed a few things to my liking, and probably made it too expensive. Looking to make it a farmer, but I also believe siphon speed should be double-stacked as a travel ability. It hits speed cap at two shots. Also believe that dropping a few points of resistance to increase regen and recovery alot is better for survival. A bigger, faster tick is better than taking 6% less damage.
Maybe I have no clue.
