I don't get why you people are getting so uppity about the art book, he clearly said prizes (plural) as the_rent has also emphasised.

God, why even bother arguing with Lionsbane? He's so set in his own point of view that he couldn't possible change it, even if it would hurdle him to certain doom. Because he simply thinks he is that much better than the rest of us.
Just stop it, please ><

The former. Farmers avoid bosses like the blight.

Sure they do. -
It'd be nice, although highly unlikely, if there was an extra difficulty setting that resulted in AV's etc... having more varied/powerfull powers and effects and more things like ambushes.
Of course the reward would be higher, but the risk should (in a perfect world) offset that. -
The claws extend for the attacks during animation - it's what makes them cool and why we can't have customisation options.
None of the other ones animate out like that. -

They should all be in PvP zones.

There's need as in need, and there's need as in "the players perceive the need".
A lot of times where people would say you need something, you actually don't. Take AV's, you can drop 90% of them with just DPS in a team. Sure it's easier with -Res or -Regen or Slows or -Damage, but it's not needed -
Things like more ambushes or having to chase an AV/Monster around a map and avoiding triggered or scripted hazards would be good.
But you've got to balance all that with the fact that the community (generalisation) only seems to want to take so much "difficult". -

Good point.
RE: Original Hamidon, did they ever state what the secret method was for taking him down? From what I recall, they modified him several times as people were defeating him in a way not according to The Vision, and then they brought about the new encounter.

Party line was that everyone was right on the edge of one side of the jelly when he spawned the yellow mito's and as such when everyone regrouped they could go to the other side and ignore them and just kill him.
I think. -
Problem is when they try and do something a bit more complex or requiring more team co-ordination, everyone moans - even the people that wanted it in the first place.
Look at Hamidon, that entire encounter was a test run for a more complex challenge and the majority of the community just up and said "No that's dumb we want easy mode back". -
Flashes for my Widow. =\
Checked your icon settings? -
When it becomes obvious that they won't fight back I don't really see the point in continuing to kill them. It offers me nothing personally, unless you get some good banter going and both sides treat it properly.
-
I'll attack someone a few times even if they don't fight back. The first few times could simply be me getting the drop on them and killing them before they can find me to retaliate.

I worded that carefully, Standoff. It was directed at anyone who was whinging, and it's up to them to decide whether they were or not.
Crafty, see?

So much so they could put whiskers on you can call you a weasel.

I hear Weasel's aren't any fun. -

If you don't want to get attacked - don't go in the God damn zone.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or at least go in with a team, and look out for one another. Safer in numbers.
And Cactus, I have absolutely no idea what your point was about PvEing without shields.
[/ QUOTE ]
How are people supposed to do the zones PVE content without using their shields?
Just because some one has defenses running doesn't mean they are prepared for a PVP fight.
[/ QUOTE ]
By entering the zone they acknowledge that they can be attacked. There's no other way about it. -
[ QUOTE ]
A PVE build can't defeat a PVP build so why even bother trying when you have gone there for PVE reasons?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes it can. Try harder. -
I hope that CactusBrawler is a troll because the oft-regurgitated rhetoric of wanting to avoid PvP in a PvP Zone simply because there is PvE content there is stupid.
The PvE stuff is there in addition to the PvP. Not instead of. You consent by entering the zone and anyone complaining that (SHOCK HORROR) they get attacked in a PvP Zone they entered, therefore agreeing that they can be attacked really has the wrong outlook on things.
PvE content in the zones is completely optional. Just because you want the badges or want the temps it doesn't mean you need them.
If you don't want to get attacked - don't go in the God damn zone. -

Everything is always nerfed, even the buffs come with nerfs to other powers.
[/ QUOTE ]
CB, I honestly thought you were better than that. That logic is so downright weak I can see it fading away as I look at it.
You just specifically said that somethings got buffed. If they got buffed, then they can't have been nerfed. If something else gets nerfed at the same time, that does not eliminate the fact that something got buffed.
[/ QUOTE ]
Does if were considering sets as a whole, for example they slightly buff tier two power from a set but nerf tier three drastically, then the set as a whole still got nerfed no?
[/ QUOTE ]
If you can prove to us that the overall damage output is lower throughout the entire set. -
Extreme verbal abuse, as opposed to banter. Everything else is a viable game or play mechanic and has been said as such by representatives of game support staff both sides of the pond.
