We are most certainly the bomb
Was good to see a full team again - hope everyone can make it next week too. The rate of levelling was pretty nutty it has to be said.
And we're taking the pictures before we start next week - never did get one!
And tactics at lvl 14, after already spending all my influence on accuracy DOsSo close, so very close!
-
Shall we meet in the Hollows then? By Wincott at the Atlas gate. Sound plannish?
-
Well I must confess I'm a little disappointed with the expressed interest - I guess everybody is trying to get a decent level at this stage, no time for a part-timer like myself
Well I'll be on Wednesday at 7pm if you'd care to join me - I'll just press-gang a few others into the team until we acquire more regularsI'm still at lvl 2 with the first mission on Mercy Island lined up - we should be able to just run through and do the auto-complete missions thing so that we both/all progress quickly enough.
-
This was asked on the recruiting thread, but thought I'd answer it here to get us back to the team thread - what can I say, Synergi likes seeing her name on the front page
If everyone is still up for the sewer thing and there are no impeding level restrictions, what say we meet... somewhere with a sewer entrance? Having never really done the sewer thing, I'll leave it to someone else to suggest somewhere specific!
If there are level restrictions in play, there's always the Hollows and other missions to fall back on. -
I'd probably say a corrupter would make the best pairing - they're nice damage dealers that can also help buff pets and debuff enemies.
A dominator or another mastermind would probably work decently too.
I gather brutes don't play too nicely with pets because the pets take attention away from the brute, reducing fury generation.
Stalkers might work reasonably well in a duo, taking out the boss/lieutenant while the pets take care of the minions, but I gather they're not too hot in big groups because they tend to draw a lot of aggro on themselves after the initial strike. -
Myself and the formidable swordswoman Idris have located the whereabouts of the Envoy of Shadows, and will be leading an assault upon said demon at 7pm this evening.
If you're in the mood for demon-smiting, this is an excellent opportunity - the Envoy has excellent credentials, and we will be distributing his unholy appendages as trophies (I've got dibs on the left wing) at the conclusion.
I would recommend security lvl 35, give or take a couple of levels. -
Dark huh? Nice choice
Good for a 1-on-1 in PvP - you can just make yourself untouchable, which is always nice!
We seem to be somewhat lacking in further recruits however - if all else fails I might have to resort to taking to the streets with me blackjack and press-ganging people. Come on you radiation folk, either sign up here or be forced into service after a cosh to the head
Just to clarify a little, I'm not necessarily looking for a full team, at least not initially - if I can get 4 radiators and a mastermind together then we'll call for kickoff the following Wednesday - how does that sound? -
Sorry to hear you're leaving us FR - you know you're always welcome if you randomly find yourself with a tuesday evening free
And welcome aboard Rockstar!
Leadership-wise, I know two of us have Assault at the moment, and I'll be getting Tactics at 14. Obviously the more people who can squeeze leadership into their build the better
I really don't think stamina would be necessary - Speed Boost and Accelerated Metabolism have nice endurance boosts to them, and defenders' inherent power gives them an endurance discount as their teams health drops - alongside RA and Transference I really don't see endurance ever being a serious issue.
I would also probably recommend against getting superspeed as a travel power, as Speed Boost is available on demand - get yourself a nice 3d travel power insteadAnd then Inertial Reduction opens up at lvl 18 of course... In fact if one or two of us got grant invisibility and we coordinated a little we could probably do without proper travel powers, but that relies on specific folk attending.
I'd say resurrect to be the more useful of the two - you have to remember most of the group has heals available, so absorb pain probably wouldn't save us where everything else failed.
Anyway, I look forward to meeting everyone on Tuesday all being well
Alas you'll all miss Ms Relentless' and Syphusion's double-act of nuking the opposition. Maybe I should pick up or respec into Short Circuit soon? I know it's a poor substitute, but the group just wouldn't be the same without a fair ratio of kamikaze tactics -
If you're poor, notepad
If you're rich, Dreamweaver.
For something in-between, I rather liked EmEditor - it's only text editting again, but it's rather nice for programming languages, html and so forth.
If you asked nicely, I'm sure some web design guru (or best offer) would make you a nice template that you could just edit for content and whatnot? -
You have a free slot?! Ok I admit it, I still have the 4 extra slots on Defiant free... not been quite so proactive in the alting this last month or two
-
That sounds pretty good to me
We'll have to try and harass everyone into full attenance next week - we can take a group picture for the SNHS website or somesuch. -
I'll just say Radiation secondary - I know the primary is nothing too spectacular. The only rule is get Accelerated Metabolism at lvl 4!
No specifics origin-wise.
As for masterminds, undead and robots seem to fit the theme best as they're going to be surrounded by and bombarded with radiationConceptually I see it as the group working together because pretty much anyone else tends to die in their presence!
Of course if everyone tries to fit the leadership pool somewhere in their build it should have a rather nice cumulative effect for all involved -

Well I need to quit early tonight and I'm 2 hours ahead of you if you're on GMT. But we might have time for a few missions around 7-8pm?
[/ QUOTE ]
Cool cool, will drop you a /tell at 7 - feel free to get a couple of missions lined up - I don't know where the hell my scrapper is at mission-wise, besides the Envoy thing -
Well I'm unusually free this evening if that's any good for you? Between 7pm to 11pm is all good. Just let me know what works
-
Don't take the lack of response as a bad sign - folk just don't seem very talkative on here
Looks pretty keen - always good to see some more visually inclined creative work - can't be doing with too much reading sometimes! -
Well as long as you "take care of" the debuffless knock-back victims, it all sounds perfectly reasonable to me
( I said 'take care of him' not 'take care of him'! - name that film?)
Once you have a name sorted, feel free to introduce yourself on the Team Synergi thread and hopefully we'll all get to meet you soon -
Well I'm not offering a supergroup, but I have a lvl 35 dark/regen scrapper I haven't played in aaaages, so if you fancy duoing some time soon it'd be neat to brush the cobwebs off the poor sod.
I even have the last mission or two of the Envoy of Shadows arc if you fancy your chances against an archvillain -
As some of you know, I'm involved in a regular all-defenders team on Tuesdays, and am looking to start up something similar for villains on Wednesdays. As with the defender team, I'd be looking at a 7pm start for a couple of hours of good-natured villainy (well, the defenders aren't so much involved in the villainy part, but you get the idea!)
I had considered an all-corrupter, or an all-radiation (secondary) corrupter team, but thought perhaps it would be desirable to have maybe 6 corrupters and a couple of others to benefit from all the buffs and whatnot going around?
And so I'd like to propose the following:
6 */radiation corrupters and 2 masterminds.
I have a lvl 2 rad/rad corrupter, The Transcendant, ready and waiting, although if we have more difficulty filling the mastermind slots (which I rather doubt) I also have a lvl 2 necro/dark mm.
As a secondary point, if there is sufficient interest in regular teams such as this for all you part timers and alt-fiends (I tragically fall into both categories!), I might also be interested in setting up a similar group on Mondays, consisting of 6 corrupters and 2 brutes - for this I have a lvl 6 fire/kin corrupter sitting in waiting, altho I also have a lvl 3 dark/fire brute if we have trouble finding brutes -
I confess I did rather fancy roling a ninja/trick arrow mm - it just looks to be a rather more proactive set than most.
On the other hand, perhaps that's the problem - you spend more time firing off arrows giving less time to effectively coordinate your minions?
Given how little time I'm spending in-game at the moment I don't think I'll be adding yet another alt just yet, but I would be interested to know the reasoning behind this dislike of Trick Arrow... -
Well I was thinking about the Posi tf - need to get everyone to lvl 10 before we start that, and having a full team would make it a real challenge, just like everyone seems to want
And hey, they lowered the debt-cap with i6, so it's win-win
It's the CoT missions with all the bloody ruin mages and whatnot that are the trouble-makers... -
The Tuesday night all-defender team is looking to recruit 2 new members, one forcefields, one trick arrow.
We meet each Tuesday at 7pm, typically wrapping things up by 9pm.
Our highest level is 12, with our lowest at 8, so anything around there is welcome, as would lower levels - sidekicked up, you'd catch up quickly enough anyway.
Check out the Team Synergi thread to meet the guys
As a side note, we're all members of the SNHS (all-defender supergroup, part of the 1-AT coalition). -
I confess I never went for invincible - one, I thought it'd be useful having at least one fall back if we were having trouble with invincible missions, two, trying to solo on invincible would be nigh impossible because all my powers require hits! When I get Tactics at 14, then I might bump it up to invincible
So how did everyone find speed boost? Is the superspeed as annoying for you as siphon speed is for me in caves and other confined areas?I don't think my glitchy lag thing helps any - it is just me who keeps rubber-banding back a few yards at regular intervals during play right? I never hear anyone else mentioning it...
Not sure about Posi just yet - don't taskforces have mobs automatically at the max level? Still, if it's a challenge you wantI don't know, I'd just feel more comfortable once I have tactics under my belt!
The sewer thing sounds interesting tho - only time I've been in the tunnels was for the Caverns of Transcendance, and only went into the sewer network once, quite recently actually, just to see what the hell was down there! -
2 controller primaries should work very nicely.
In solo you get small groups of 2 or 3, which you can easily take care of with single target holds, immobilise, levitate etc. In groups you offer unparalleled control. In PvP you can easily hold pretty much anything one on one and would even be in with a shot against groups.
Mind control would be a good choice, working alongside pretty much any other. Of course alternatively you could go the 2 pets route.
Something I thought about recently - maybe people get a single superhero or archvillain slot, or maybe it'd only really work in a single player - where you choose 5 powersets, one from each ATs primary. Just so you'd have half a chance to get all the good stuff, pick a power every level. It'd probably have to lose each ATs unique 'ability' for obvious reason tho -
Yeah I could do with a laptop meself. Not for gaming mind, I'd want a brand spanking new dual-core system for that. I reckon 2gb of Ram would suffice. One of those dual graphic card setups. Sounds about right
Ahem, anyways... has there been much in the way of advances in lottery rigging?
