If AE missions were constructed like real TFs, where you had to run out to some location in the real world to actually do the mission, it would alleviate many of the problems that people are complaining about: less crowding in the AE building, the incentive to PL with AE would be decreased, players would see more of the city, etc. You could also add Defeat N Enemy in Open Zone missions to AE arcs as well. And they would be included in your defeat counts.
Furthermore, if AE randomly assigned zones based on the level of the missions, it would further inhibit AE's ability to PL. That is, all those level 54 boss farms would be some random place in Grandville or PI (and not inside safe and comfy Portal Corp), and it would be a hassle to get PLed lowbies to those locations.

I like this idea. But blah on the reset.
If me a 54 month vet wants to pl a toon. i shouldn't have to worry about getting my account banned. I have ran it all and more then once. Even when I PL a toon I stop and do Faultline and Croatoa my favorite part of the game there. But at lvl 6 having to run to KR only to have to run back to the hollows with sprint gets old. there has been no real lvl 50 content added to the game. Cimerora is lvl 35 and up co-op zone. My opinion, for what its worth, take boomtown and redo it, take DA and redo it, take crey's redo it. Look the old faultline sucked but look what they did to it. Its a full blown zone with content and contacts.
The new people pling well its their choice they will miss some good times but its their 15 bucks.
Oh well its Monday and I'm bored at work -

I've heard people say the devs are focusing more on PvP. ..

Like the debauchery that brought Rome to it's knees, it appears that CoX has run the same course. Whoever the current Ceaser and Senators of the game are, they have lost the path and created a Colliseum to entertain the masses while the rest of the Empire collapses in disuse. Sit and watch the games, watch the slaughter of the Christians, the sea battles, etc. Don't worry about the rest of the Empire.

As Legend puts it

When the Colosseum collapses, Rome will collapse.

First off why would you even report someone who did nothing to you. Obviously mommy and daddy never told you being a tattletale is wrong unless you have been hurt in some manner.
[/ QUOTE ]The kind of person who uses the word 'tattletale' is the kind of person whose mommy and daddy said 'Get away with whatever you can.'
Some of us were raised to respect rules and principles, and to think that when a person agrees to a behaviour, they should actually do it.
[/ QUOTE ]
True that.
[/ QUOTE ]
Its called minding your own business. I mind mine but seems some people like to run around a virtual world and police it. Let the devs worry about it not take it upon yourself to ruin someones good time. Don't try and put a F'in twist on my words and state something stupid like " well going out on a Saturday night and drinking a few beers which is a good time, then getting behind the wheel of a car (censored)FACED.
Whoever said that Land of the Lost isn't a copyright infringement because its a name or words just shud up. So if i were to start a pizza joint called pizza hut BUT didn't server pan pizza, didn't have a red roof, didn't look like a hut then there is nothing that could be done, PLEASE!!
Even better how about me making a game or something for facebook call it "City of Heroes" but not super heroes but Policemen or Firemen were the stars of the game and they were stopping crime and rescuing the occasional cat in the tree. NCSOFT would send there high priced attorneys after me in a heartbeat.
"Land of the Lost" is a trademark which mean that it cant be used unless permission is granted. Google was recently sued because the OS they use for their mobile phones is called Android which could have lead to confusion with the registered trademark Android Data. -
First off why would you even report someone who did nothing to you. Obviously mommy and daddy never told you being a tattletale is wrong unless you have been hurt in some manner.
Secondly ncsoft is breaking the very rule they generic us for.
Back in the 70's there was a tv show called "Land of the Lost" which has since been remade in to a movie staring Will Ferrell. This is also an area in Skyway City which is called you guessed it, "Land of the Lost". I'm sure Universal Studios bought the rights from Sid and Marty Krofft the original creators who remade the series themselves in the 90s. However I doubt that Cryptic or NCsoft paid for the rights to use this name.
Someone should report them to the copyright holder. -
i wouldnt say the market, but the whole io system and the ability to build your toon. With out the Market though i would be forced to run the same content i ran 4+ years ago to obtain the stuff. Which i would NOT do.

Yeah, the new PvP crowd seems to have little respect for their opponent's strategies.
[/ QUOTE ]
There is no strategy. For instance Logged in the AM to pvp for a few before i go to work. 7 stalkers and a corrupter. you tell me where the strategy is in that.
when red side is populated with MM's stalkers, Corr's, and Brutes its a blast to pvp. I play both sides as well but when its all stalkers the fun is ruined and the B!#$%ing begins and rightfully so. -
Q: You guys wanna know what would make pvp fun again?
A: If you pre I13 babys would just shut the heck up and play instead of cry about your precious I12 pvp.
Cant you see the devs changed it to bring more people to the PVP portion of the game. I13 tried to lvl out the playing field a bit. More people tried pvp some stayed some left. I14 added pvp IO's to give people a reason to come and pvp and get a reward that can only be dropped from killing other players. More people showed up.
Lets see what happens next. Crying about the old days get you no where if you dont like it leave the game follow your little buddies that went before you. ADAPT -
[ QUOTE ]
People already tried PvP, under the old rules. Those that chose to stick around and learn how the system worked eventually got good at it. Those that didn't left the zones. No amount of rewards or dumbing-down of the mechanics will bring most of those players back into the zones. Perhaps this "wonderfully successful," "more fun," and "balanced" new PvP is why the zones are more empty than they ever were before the changes.
And "hundreds of thousands?" This game has maybe 120-150k subscribers. That's hardly "hundreds of thousands" of people. Additionally, the September to December 2008 subscription numbers were the lowest this game has recorded since about six months after its launch in 2004. I don't think it's a coincidence there are less people PvPing now than there were before the changes. Where are all the new players these changes were supposed to bring in, hm?
[/ QUOTE ]
so they should spend money to keep 500 people happy? sounds like that's what you wanted.
Tell me this, in fact tell all of us, How in the world was pvp fun pre i13? what was fun about it? Was it chain mezing the new guys who came to check pvp out? Was it ASing followed by TF or Bone Smasher FTW that made you all giddy? Those are a just a few things that would bring me back to the zone. But hey if ya cant hang with the big dogs get out right, thats what you mean right so you and the 499 other can play pvp on FOTM builds.
I14 is a step in the overhaul of the pvp system. Its not perfect by any means. But are more AT's in RV on freedom at least then the FOTM stalker or perma doms. If you disagree then you haven't played. -

Comparing PvP in an MMO to the color of the felt on a pool table is the first step in getting people to ignore you completely. Good try though.
Guess what? I never played on test before I13. Not once. Hell, I only started PvPing in the month or so leading up to I13. Even I know a turd when I see one. You can polish up I13 PvP and praise it all you like - a shiny turd is still a turd.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not comparing MMO to pool felt. Thats what a High School Diploma will help you figure out.
Comparing the business side of it. Your little ladder matches of max 500 people are no match for the hundreds of thousands that might wanna try it. -

And the 'hardcore' pvpers may be surprised to hear that this is probably the majorty's concensus, and thus, who the devs are listening to.
[/ QUOTE ]
This statement, combined with the utter lack of attention the devs paid to the people who bothered to work with the system and make it work for them, speak volumes to why we have the giant steaming pile of [censored] we have today.
Yes, let's listen to the lowest common denominator. Screw trying to keep up with Joneses, let's just drag them down to our level!
[/ QUOTE ]
So say i shoot pool in a league on friday nights, the felt on the table is ripped and the owners need to fix it. You following me mac. Good.
Now the people who shoot pool in the leagues want red felt because the green felt hurts their eyes. The people who occasionally play like the green and are opposed to the red because it doesn't remind them of a pool table.
Now even though the league's play on the tables nightly should the owners give them the benefit and do what they ask or request because thats what they want. Nope you know why, the tables generate money all day long.
PVP was broke for the majority who might have WANTED to enjoy all aspects of the game for their money. Its not about what your little rec leagues want on the test server its about what paying customers want. That sir is the most for their money. -

Yes, there's something obviously wrong with the people that loved dynamic team roles and mechanics that made sense.
It's no small wonder the world is in its current state.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dynamic team roles may have been awesome in arena pvp, particularly amongst the test arena scene. But to the average pvpers (like me) or the people who don't pvp, test arena pvp was an elite clique that would take huge ammounts of effort to get anywhere near. The rest of the pvp was the occasional random arena match or zone pvp where most of these 'dynamic team roles' were more often than not badly crippled by the inherent lack or organization in these areas.
Having never been in that elite pvp group I can't say if it was great, but the fact that they mostly left speaks volumes. However, that small elite group was the only part of the player base that could truly appreciate the high end pvp content in the game. The pvp system really was quite flawed when looked at from the context of the more low end pvp, which a larger majority of the pvp community would be in if there actually was a large pvp community, or at least the devs thought so, and I would agree.

Well said. -
Nope, never going to happen. i know because i have done an purpled out arch/mental and they do kill fairly fast on 6 man maps.
Bosses will own you, so you have to map for 6.
My fire/kin can do a 6 man BM map in 12 min and a 7 man in not much longer then that.
To replace my fire/kin I have tried,
Plant/Kin Not enough damage to kill fast enough
Arch/Mental - Not enough Def to Live long enough
Spines/Fire - No hold or imob so they run from burn and caltrops.
Only thing that come close to my fire kin is my spines willpower scrapper. He can destroy the "Defeat Sam Naples" mission from Unai. That map is huge and again mapped for 6 he can do it in like 15 min. The enemies are council and have wicked knockback and Aoe which makes for a difficult time having lowbies sk'd to you. But they are pretty much drawn into quills and they try and walk away but just walk right back into it. There are 4 or 5 patrols that roam through the map and will usually wipe out the door if people are sitting and afk.
Its fun you should all try it. -

Complain all you want to, but this is NCSoft's baby now. They're a Korean company and love microtransactions. Get used to it now, because it's never going to go back to being a strictly in-game economy.
Welcome to the City of Exteel Heroes
[/ QUOTE ]
Well that is starting to shed some light on the subject. Look at all those asain free to play games. Yeah they are free but if you want the kewl stuff you need to buy them from the ingame stores or off their website,
Well Well Well.... is this where we are going with the game? -
[ QUOTE ]
Offer a respec for real cash that allows the toon to rechoose primary and secondary sets and watch the money roll in.
[/ QUOTE ]
Now your talking. i would pay for that type of respec for a few toons.
But i would be Ticked off if they allowed that to happen before addressing many many outstanding issues the game currently has.
So before dropping another dime into purchasable respecs and costume packs or nifty trinkets to make people happy temporarily . Use the time and money to fix the lag in misson 3 of the ITF, or what ever else maybe outstanding. -
We all pay money every month 15 bucks on up. that money needs to be spent on developing content and fixes for the game as it is now. seem that they just used our money and developed a way to make more money by charging 9.99 for a respec.

or for 10 bucks you can buy 100 mill inf from one of the stupid spam in game emails that continue to fill my in game mailbox. and with that 100 mill you can buy 5 in game respec recipies.

Sure, if I wanted to lose my game account, I could do that.

My point was who is the real crook? -
What a Joke. Where to start.
9.99 for a name change.
9.99 for server transfer.
9.99 for character respec.
9.99 for dumb wedding pack (i think)
or for 10 bucks you can buy 100 mill inf from one of the stupid spam in game emails that continue to fill my in game mailbox. and with that 100 mill you can buy 5 in game respec recipies.
Note to NCSoft "The Grass might just be greener in the other game"
The state of this game is falling fast.
* Drop Rates for anything of any sort of use just stinks.
* Market is just sick, over priced. (i can aford it, but others cant)
* Way way way to much farming because of the first 2 i listed. (yes im guilty)
* Content is OLD. Yes even the 10 misson in the new zone got old after the first 2 weeks.
* Every new issue leads to many more bugs that you cant fix, but somehow find the time to crunch numbers or what ever goes on there to come to the conclusion that energy transfer needed nerfed and that the 3rd mission in the ITF is acceptable. (boy if i let our mail server at work die and told the boss ahhh dont worry they can use the phone if the need to get a message to someone id be out of a job) its amazes me some people there still have jobs.
All of the above and we still give you 15 bucks a month per acct. For what? Crashing, Lag, Slow Loads, Old Content, Bugged Missions, Patches that cause more problems, i could go on but you get the point. Oh and i didnt even mention PVP.
you should give us at least: 1 free transfer per month, 1 free respec per month, 1 free name change per month, and never ever ever charge us for costume pieces.
Oh and would a red name like to tell me why the "enable profanity" option is in the game. I mean if "toon one" enables it that must mean he doesnt care about BAD WORDS. So the guy who enables it can send a petition because he saw one fly in broadcast. Something is really wrong there, i think you should rethink that. Its set to ignore profanity by default so you have to go enable it which in my book mean i dont care if someone swears.
Have a good day, -
In my opinion (for what its worth) i think i12 is a joke.
New vill epics are nice but again i think that was a little to late.
New zone lacks content and looks nowhere near as good as faultline or croa.
TF Laggy as all heck.
Since i12 the horrible disconnect while zoning is annoying.
I think the whole issue was released to early because they wanted to release the same day Conan went live. Out of fear i bet.
How about an issue with 5 new contacts per zone with 10-15 missions each. Give us something to do that wont be completed in 5 hrs. -
we are bad guys we should be able to kill them
