  1. I'd like to see all such lost items returned. I'd rather they not be charged for in the store though. That seems a bit off, although I can understand your willingness to pay for it.

Noble Savage started a thread about lost items (asking for us to list, mention show any such things that used to be in the costume creator) and I wonder if anything will come out of that eventually.
  2. I enjoyed both the hero and villain arc!
While the story was good, I'd say that I really liked the game mechanics of it.
I understand that the timers may cause some unwanted panic amongst people, and not everyone enjoys that, but I do believe it was there to give a bit of that feeling and I, for one, appreciated it.
    The maps are gorgeous.
And I loved the inclusion of the Igneous and especially enjoyed the way they were introduced (I happen to love the place is imploding... ESCAPE scenarios!)!!

    I soloed this on a level 30 MA/SR Scrapper and a level 50 Mind/Psi Dominator.
I didn't have any problems on either.

Although, I, personally, do not enjoy exemp'ing. Just my personal preference, but hey what can ya do! No big deal.
I'd just enjoy this more, and run it more, if I could do it at my characters' higher levels. That is for sure.
Fortunately, the story and the play is fun enough that I'm going to do it some more with other characters (I failed to spot the exit both times and my villain's power trays are completely filled, so I want to free up some slots and check that out again).

I really enjoyed the villain version, perhaps a bit more. I'm curious if the dialog choices actually make a difference... going to find that out as well.
However, when I defeated whatshisname and received Synapse's powers, I actually did open my powers tab, while fighting, and searched through, but I didn't find any of these new powers.
I searched through the lists 2-3 times... But it is possible I somehow missed them.

I did not use the lava or anything. I just beat them on the rock where they were. So, I should have had these powers. Again, it is entirely possible I missed spotting them in that damned long list of powers.
I keep thinking that something different needs to be done for such things.
Maybe a task window, like we get on the Incarnate Trials, that could include the temporary powers.
That or it'd be really nice if such powers would recognize open slots in other power trays. I have my first 3 filled. And then I have other free floating ones that I'd put the temp powers into it and I'd love it if the game would do that automatically.

Anyway... that's not feedback specific to this arc, but it reminded me about it.

I'm happy that the arc was a fun ride, in terms of gaming... except for having to exemp down though. Bonus points for it being fun despite that. That means a lot coming from me, as someone who rarely enjoys bringing a 50 that far down.

Honestly, I laugh every time humans talk about absolute rules (and often times cringe as well).
Don't get me wrong, it is through many of these theories - turned rules - turned foundations for further exploration/experimentation - that has led to a great many achievements and discoveries, which is fascinating...
However, people get so ahead of themselves in believing in that rule that they've made up because they haven't discovered any way to disprove it yet.
These rules are tools to try and explore things farther.
However, and many have, you must constantly recheck these rules and see if it is time to bring things back to formula, so to speak, hehe.

    Anyway... fun stuff.
  4. Nice to see everyone getting along in here.

I love you all and hope for the best for everyone.

    Agreed.
  7. I should probably attribute most of the responses in this thread to the thread title... "Less than impressed".

If I were to have started a thread about my opinions... I may have titled it "Great First Arc, Fun, Intriguing, But..."
    And then said:
"I found it a little disappointing to be exemp'd to level 20."

Maybe that wouldn't have gotten some of the responses that the OP did.
    I can dream, anyway...
  8. Some people are okay with exemp'ing and some people are not (and each and all to differing degrees).
That is just something I learned a long time ago.

Why people feel a need to argue against another person's dislike, I don't know.
    It's personal preference.

The reasons may differ and some may not hold up, but there are some people who just do not enjoy playing their character(s) at a lower level.

I enjoyed the the arc. The maps are gorgeous and the moment of introducing the Igneous was cool, fun and exciting (to me).
However, I really dislike exemping'ing beyond 5 levels. I just don't like losing powers, plain and simple.
For me, it is not about struggling at all.
I just like having my arsenal available to me. Some of my most used powers are chosen later on.
It's no big deal... It's "not the end of the world" as someone felt the need to continually repeat (as though anyone said that it was)... I, personally (that's me), would have enjoyed it more if they had managed to make it fit the level of your character (low and high).

I know and understand the limitations in place regarding the NPC factions.
This is just a desire beyond that limitation and/or to work around that limitation.

    No big deal.
It's funny... I opened this thread expecting to see some sort of criticism about the length of the first part or the story or something... While I figured I'd end up posting "The only thing I was a little disappointed in was that it exemps you to 20", hehe... So, I was pleasantly surprised... and then disappointed at people trying to cut down that opinion.

    BS vs. Katana

I too have been debating which of these two sets I am going to go with for a new character...
However, my choice is going to be based on feel and looks... and I still can't seem to decide.

I'm going to prattle on about this now, from this stance... so, feel free to ignore if it is of no interest:

Honestly, I thought I wanted Katana all the way.
I liked the two-handed approach and the animations.
I felt like Broad Sword was simple, boring and a bit unfitting.

However, the new Barbarian Sword is so appealing to me... but it is only available for Broad Sword...
So... besides posting requests, sending PMs and sending out secret agents to get that sword for Katana...
I decided to make both versions of the character and test them out a bit.

And I was very surprised at how much I did like the look, feel and sound of Broad Sword (As Claws very aptly describes it below).

This seriously has me considering Broad Sword...

As, when I went back to the Katana version... that sound and that feeling was missing!

However... I have to put one more visual/feel LIKE about Katana in here...
I LOVE that Brawl includes a pommel smash animation!! I never noticed that before!!
    Gah... Decisions, decisions...
Curse you, developers... for making everything so good!!
  10. Messages to everyone pointing fingers at other players/posters about this farming thing...
The players are not the ones who have repeatedly made changes with the AE to lessen some of the efficiency with popular farming techniques.

Some people can denigrate others all they want. However, as is usual, all they really accomplish is making themselves look worse.
Either side of the argument... right or wrong... lower yourself to such things and that's all you're doing... lowering yourself.

Anyway... Who here wants a Barbarian Sword for Katana? Me too!

How strange!! And it is a first post!

    Welcome to the forums, BlazenBeauty!
    And to your question...
Hrm, according to this Known Issues Thread, the issue with transferring characters with an apostrophe in the name has not been fixed yet.

    Good question though.

Don't tell anyone, but I'm also not going to use any powers that would help the toon and will forcibly make them earn all of the debt badges as quickly as is possible!

You know... As much as I want the hats... I totally understand that and actually agree... However, I feel that way about all of the NPC pieces, so it makes me wonder why we're getting any. I'd rather just get pieces that are similar to those things (like the hats... definitely tall hats), but more generic/versatile.
  13. I was going to log into the game after reading this, but spent so much time reading DarkGob's terrible explanations... that this forum time ended up entirely taking away from my in-game time.
I will now stay logged in 5 minutes longer than I intended to...

However, I can never get this time back.
In fact, the rest of my life will be affected by the time I spent here, in this very post. THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!!

  14. It's Too Late For The Rest

    Action/Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Romance/Dramedy...

I'm the struggling paranormal private investigator... I wake up, eat cold pizza, get a visit from a beautiful woman who has a compelling mystery case (that match her compelling lips), before I'm abducted by dragon-rider amazons from another planet who fall in love with me, reveal a great plot, in which I have to risk my life on a harrowing adventure to rescue some important artifact from the hands of pure evil... I talk with animals along the way... jump from one life-threatening scenario to another, visit beautiful women and their bed chambers in-between (and/or during) all of that...
And then get whisked away by the queen alien dragon-riding amazon to be king on their planet as the Earth blows up just after we leave.

And I live happily ever after.
    Until the Sequel...

  15. The Hats and the Collars.

I want more, for sure, but those are the two top wants.

    "Everything" would be best.

Definitely the hats... and the collars... Definitely want the hats and the collars. Gotta have the hats and the collars.
Augghhh... Do we get the hats and the collars? Should definitely get those. The hats and the collars. Definitely want the hats and the collars. Gotta have the hats and the collars.
  16. So, yeah, seriously... The stopping of new level pacts without having made it clear when that was happening is a bit unfortunate.
Not much time has gone by since the issue launched and, as someone else pointed out, we were told level pacts would end after the head start.
At the very least a few days notice of the specific date seems far more appropriate than announcing it after the fact.

I am wondering if the risk of some sort of exploit was at play in making it happen now. That's the only sensible reason I can think of.

I was fine with them making an error in their pricing (my opinion) and having no interest in this sale...

So... it's being locked in Disney's Vault?
  19. I'm just sad that there's no mention of an option to remove the floating coins nor the inclusion of the Barbarian Sword for Katana and Ninja Blade.
Skip the farming drama and focus on the real issues!!

    Archery Overhaul

I was going to basically say what Samuel said.

"Overhaul" is definitely not the word I'd agree with and I think Dechs makes some very fair points. Also, Dual Pistols was balanced around the Swap Ammo functions, so it's not just a simple cosmetic thing to add into Archery... and if they added that functionality to Archery, they'd have to adjust the powerset to balance its inclusion and then it'd be worse off if you don't make use of the different ammo types.

    Regardless of all of that...
I'd love the ability to customize the arrows.
Not only to get rid of those bright white and yellow arrows (which I would love for my archer), but I'd love to see energy arrows (ala Dungeons & Dragons cartoon!) and an assortment of other possibilities.

I do hope that, one day, major focus goes back into substantial customization options. I have no problem with that not always being the focus, hehe, but I'd love to see dedicated strike teams delivering issues like Issue 16 again!

Lastly... I ask everyone to be friendly, drop any negativity towards each other or from the words written here and just focus on finding the understanding between each other...
As crazy as that may seem!

I'll take a look and see if I can replicate this... But it won't be for a little bit.

Also... I have to say... The bad news is... you lost your mid-section... But the good news is that we managed to save your feet.

    Welcome aboard, Rapthorne!

    It gets even better!

And yeah, one thing about the TFs that I find interesting (and has been mentioned, but I'll say it anyway) is that they were designed so that they could be paused and resumed by a group of players. Very much like a tabletop rpg group running a campaign/adventure.
Sadly, just about no one runs them that way.
Like others have said... the developers have adapted and newer ones are shorter and more interesting and dynamic and such.
Still... some people love running any and all of them, hehe.

    Anyway...

So glad you're enjoying it here! It reminds me of when I stumbled upon this gem. Been here since.

Oh, and yeah, check out the global channels for the individual servers. They are player-created and you have to join them. Both the individual server forums and just asking in-game should lead you in the right direction on that!

Hope you keep having fun and I imagine I'll see you around!
  23. Oh, hey...
I saw you guys asking about possible new emotes in the ustream, hehe...

Off the top of my head, there's one somewhat silly one I'd still like to see.

    Another Air Guitar.
The one we have is a fast, bang-your-head punchy rhythm-guitar version...
But, I'd love to have a smooth, guitar solo looking one as well.
Something that looks more like you're playing air guitar to the solo in Stairway To Heaven. It may be best as a one-time animation, instead of a looped one.
Just a quick flourish, something like: arching your back, stepping forward and moving your hand up the guitar neck to hit that sweet note, hehe... Oh YEAH!
    lol

A Stretch emote (getting limbered up, usually while waiting for everyone to be ready to start combat) and/or a big Yawn are things I've noticed missing when hanging around and doing some role-playing and such.

Just figured I'd throw those out there (not sure if this is a good place for it).

Also, I'm excited about what you may figure out regarding weapon auras! That is definitely something I would love to see in this game! Good luck!

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this trade-off. Thanks to those who have already posted their opinions!
Man... That's a tough one, but I'll provide my answer if it helps.

It's funny, I don't see myself making a Stone Armor character, mostly due to the look of Granite Armor... BUT I really wouldn't wish people who love it to have it removed.
I do believe in the old motto of, add, never remove... When it comes to things that people have grown attached to in these games.

I guess what exactly you mean by "a more generic-looking model" is crucial to a definite answer... because if it could somewhat replicate the current Granite Armor... then maybe it is better.

Still... I feel for people who are attached to things (especially for as many years as that option has existed).
I had a game company remove things that many of us loved for several years... then it was gone... and that wasn't cool! So, yeah... as awesome as your discovery sounds, I'm not sure I'd vote for it (although, I am completely curious what it would look like now, lol).

Way to go, Tunnel Rat! Thanks for being awesome!
