  1. I'm sorry if this comes off wrong, but... I don't watch tv much at all any more (zero modern network shows... the occasional show in syndication, mostly just movies).

However, everything you said sounds exactly like how I remember network tv shows always being (at least, for quite a while, if not always... and why I don't watch tv any more).

Some possibly decent shows that lose all momentum due to bad writing, different writers, trying to spread out the good stuff and not use it all up in a small amount of episodes, which results in watered down garbage...
Screwed up schedules, a few weeks on, a few weeks off, over and over, always just moving shows around to get a bit of a glimpse and then showcase some other show and then put things on hold, blah blah blah...

Hehe, your post just sounded to me like someone who'd never actually watched television before!

Maybe you're changing? We all go through periods where we start seeing the things we used to enjoy differently (or, sometimes more accurately).

Anyway... best of luck and I hope you find stuff you like!

(I am thinking about watching the upcoming scifi show on TNT in June... ummm... can't recall the name... I could look it up, but that wouldn't be as fun nor telling as to how little it really means to me!)
  2. Excellent stuff there...

I love Echobat, Mystic... I forgot about her... And the new pieces are wonderful on her (especially those wings... !!!!).

And, yep, as soon as I checked out the aura, I checked to see if it could look like blood.

I didn't spend enough time to make anything or take any pics... I just looked at each piece to see what was what.
If I whip anything up, I'll share as well!!

    EDIT:
Oh... I did find that you could use the shoulder fur from the magic bolero with the new jacket options and lacy sleeves and corset and such for a nice combination.
  3. Very quick look through things...

And this very well may not be complete yet...

The backpack and the wings are awesome.
The auras are also quite nice. The ornate Victorian pattern aura thingy (forgot the name) seems like an option that a lot of people will love and the kind of thing that will lead to a lot of people wanting more of that sort of thing with different patterns, symbols/styles and such.

Many of the female's Victorian and classic steampunk pieces are nice additions.
Really, most of the stuff adds some nice fancy outfit options (as Jay had hinted at a while ago).

Things missing that may or may not be coming still (as it just popped up on test and there very often is more... but I also don't want to sell that as though people should count on that)...

Females do not have the long jacket.

Males do not have the new belts.

My criticisms via a very quick perusal: most (if not all) the new pieces are the types that have their own details/patterns and no further options. Most of which have a color that cannot be changed (mostly just the buckles/metal bits/buttons and such): the male's Jacket has that yellowish line along the seam, hats have set hairstyles and hair COLOR (two tones for the hat, none for the hair)...

Some of that seems like stuff that, if they aren't already planning to/working on it, perhaps player feedback could help to add a few more options for things (like the lab coat with the science pack getting the two tone and the color-able buttons options).

The faces: I saw the improvements in where the eyes sit in the head... But I thought that the style of the faces were a bit off. As though they were in harsh light or something. Perhaps too much contrast in the shading... THEN AGAIN, I did only check with ONE very pale skin tone... so, I'll check that out more!

Anyway... I'm going to try and not throw too much subjective feedback about this pack. It is what it is.

The backpack and wings and auras are worth the price of admission... the additional neat costume pieces are bonus... (ooh, didn't check the guns!).

The lack of customizability for the individual pieces concerns me some... but that is often the case with these boosters. I'm sure a lot of mixing and matching will be enjoyed by many.
And it all looks very nice, for certain.

I particularly am happy to see the new mustache option.

OH... and the new female's Victorian hair style is very nice (although, it suffers from the only one color choice option, while there are these darker/blackish shading to the hair).

*definite thumbs up, but some questionable customization trade-offs, in my opinion*

    Pshaw!

With proper moderation, we could be an ego-less forum community, only focused on the well-being of each other and the game as a whole!

The real problem is forum handles. Unique forum handles cause divisiveness, because they let people say "Arcanaville sux" and everyone knows they are referring to me....
Haha, sorry for the chop job, but...
When I read this thread earlier today, before running out, I was going to reply that we should have no forum handles.
We could all be anonymous posters of the community.

Not sure why you're taking that approach, but yeah, besides what BrandX said (and I know that we are not the only ones) we also now get to see @Trial_globalname accounts when checking...

I am not of the opinion that it is impossible to create new great names, I am not of the opinion that anyone HAS to get any particular names, nor am I under the opinion that every name that a player may want is tied up by an inactive account.

None of that detracts from the fact that some are. And I'd love to see them thrown back into the pool a little more than happens with this game.

    • Hot Temper - The character has a tantrum stomping the ground with the right and then left foot and then lets off "steam" at the neck area.
    • Train Whistle - An old fashioned steam whistle appears in the air and the character pulls the cord twice.

Edit: Costume pieces are there, just scattered about... pictures coming soon™
I know, all this talk about silly stuff and no one mentions that the Steampunk Booster was in there!
I updated and checked before heading out.
Now I'm back home and going to have a better looksee!

    Bunch o' ninnies!!
  9. I live in America... I can go out and see Jabba The Hutt just about anywhere.

Also... GG, what... no comic panel of GG in the famous metal bikini?

Well, I've seen people going on about the world ending this Saturday, so you may be out of luck!

One question. What exactly does this new face tech do? Looking at the faces, they don't look much different. Just that we got new faces. But, unless I'm wrong, it was mentioned that we got new facial technology, which implies we can do more with them than we can do now. Didn't really see much different than what we can already do with 'em.
The tech, from my limited understanding, is supposed to make the faces appear to have a bit more geometry, possibilities such as the bridge of the nose, the eyeballs, details, curves and such without the actual model having been altered and given more polygons in order to achieve such things.
So, in theory, they'd look less like faces painted onto the existing head geometry and a little more like the head geometry is sculpted properly to the face.

I hope I conveyed that correctly and somewhat understandably!

You're only saying that because you have a low post count and want to seem more like a big dog around here...

Honestly, I never even look at them. Keep 'em, hide 'em, option it... doesn't matter to me.

I will say, to you Memphis Bill, that other people foolishly trying to use it against a person is not really a good reason to ditch them or anything.
To be honest... I kind of like having obvious things for people to leap to attack... you could call them jerk traps.
If someone displays such a mindset, they've revealed enough about themselves in a harmless fashion so as to avoid them further.

    Works for everyone!

  13. I fully believe they should run name purges for any and all level characters. 3 years is more than fair, regardless of circumstances.

I don't understand people's obsessive reference to and belief in the whole datamined information on names released and used...

    Don't change the script?
So, names of characters over level 6 are not tied up in inactive accounts? Names of characters above level 6 would not be desirable by anyone?
Only names of level 5 and below characters are the sorts of names that actually would be released and actually would be "grabbed"?

You think that the datamining truly showed this to be the undeniable case for the past, present and future?

You don't think that things may have changed since then? You don't think more names that would be desirable have been taken by now long-inactive accounts that were leveled up level 6 or higher?

It's this default statement that people bring up, "datamining showed...".
  14. In other news...
You can sell things on the market to make in-game funds!!

    I'm just teasin'
Hehe, glad to see some people actually benefited from your recent discovery/post.

Well, boiling it down, that was the only aspect I was thinking was similar. That's a pretty big aspect to toss aside in order to say they're dissimilar.

And yeah, it's somewhat of an unanswerable question.

  17. You know... when I saw Dechs mention it, I cringed... but people didn't jump into the debate about it... Now people are jumping in with their solid-as-fact opinions about it.

Claws, some people would disagree that it is nothing alike.

Let's just leave it at that. What's the point of discussing it further?
Is anyone going to convince the other differently within this forum and this discussion thread?

I get what you're saying (and enjoyed your previous comments on this overall subject) and I agree with the definition of that character being insane more than "evil" (although, there is motive, there is direction, there is a twisted impetus leading him to do those things, so true insanity isn't quite right, as it is somewhat calculated and certainly could be labeled evil).
However, as far as it being shallow and unbelievable, I'd just offer the idea that people/characters far down the line of events that have shaped their psychological makeup may seem locked in a box of shallowness, but they're really just so twisted asunder of all their background and all you are seeing is the final result (which can appear shallow and/or unbelievable, however, when you consider all that the character has gone through in order to get there, it can absolutely make sense).

To bring up Darth Vader again. The epitome of cool and badass black-armored knight of evil... kinda shallow and maybe unbelievable... However, consider that he's a failed prodigy, trapped within a mechanical suit and most importantly a prisoner of pure self hatred (for what he had done and how he'd been manipulated and gone past the point of no return), that shallow/unbelievable villain is just the remnant/result of what he's been through.

Not trying to school anybody, your comment just made these thoughts pop up and I figured I'd try to express 'em!

  25. Yeah, I am not positive about this, but I think all of the boosters except for the Martial Arts one were on test... but (If I am right about that one NOT being on test) that was because of the ninjas.

Steampunkers are far more conspicuous than ninjas.
