I"m seeing all kinds of wonky stuff with the WW's interface just now. Personal favorite: placing bids for salvage, watching the "slot" fill up with "bidding x" at the top, and five minutes later seeing that slot as empty again. I've also cancelled bids, watched the slot empty, and moments later my bid appears to be placed again.

I have to do this with ; since it now puts up / ...
[/ QUOTE ]
Okay, THIS sounds really familiar -- under "Menu" ==> "Options" ==> "Keybinds" I used to have both " / " and " ; " under "Begin Chat (include keystroke)" -- at some point last week I noticed that I too was getting " / " even if I hit the " ; " key....
I according to that window, I remapped ONLY the " ; " key and nothing else, but when hitting that key I still got a " / " instead.
On Friday I petitioned it, and got a "we're bumping this up to a Senior blah blah" reply and nothing since. While I guess it's nice to know I'm not alone in this, is this just another problem they're having with the chat interface/UI? So far I'm counting three of them and I'm probably missing some others. -

I use MS Word, but sometime I and it miss things.

Until someone invents an amazing artificial intelligence that can understand syntax, spellcheckers will always miss homonyms -- as demonstrated in not one, but TWO versions of Ode to Spellcheckers.
(And yes, you'll probably shudder at those -- consider yourselves warned.)

I have seen it with almost every issue with a new zone or feature for almost 5 years now with the game.
[/ QUOTE ]
As some other posts point out, we've had a LOT of "doom!" over the past five years, and I've been around for it all, too.
"Ohmigod, Enhancement Diversification sucks! I'm outta here!"
"Oh noes, Winter Lord powerlevelling has killed the game!"
On the other hand, the game wasn't as multi-layered as it is now. Did those affect the in-game economy? Yes, but only slightly -- the Winter Lord farming did since all those level 20's had no influence as a result, but with no market system and no IO's, it wasn't a huge "hit." And while people had to BUY some new enhancements with ED, that didn't exactly break too many people's banks.
I'll be honest -- I can't recall exactly HOW fast people were getting their 1st level toons in Steel Canyon up to level 20, chasing Winter Lords. A couple hours? Four hours? (I'm sure someone will correct me, and they nerfed the Winter Lords, didn't they?!) Now, going from level 1-50 in four hours is possible, while five or six is more common for some of the people using MA, and the ticket/reward ratio is certainly affecting the economy. Those seem to be BIG changes.
While I'm not screaming "doom!" from the rooftops, it's my opinion that the new system certainly isn't perfect, nor finished, and I'd LOVE to get a developer's take on things. On the other hand, maybe they're being quiet because of the "we don't comment on exploits" policy? -
[ QUOTE ]
Have there been any responses from the developers re: the concerns brought up? I'm sifting, but not finding anything so far. Just "thank yous" for the tons of stuff loaded onto MA so far.

The only comment I've seen so far was the one from Positron a week after Issue 14 came out. Issue 14 Follow-Up From Positron!
That's just great, Posi -- when you're all done with the group hug, can you please address these MANY issues that people have been bringing up on the forums, rather than keeping us in the dark?
I know you've all been busy with the Anniversary thing, but in a couple of hours, that'll all be over. Time to get back to work, if you ask me. -

All WE can do is send in a /bug report, which most of us probably already have.
[/ QUOTE ]
My question is "has anyone /bugged this and gotten any sort of answer back yet about it being fixed?"
My support reply was "We have received reports of this happening and Quality Assurance has confirmed it and made the Development Team aware. The responsibility is theirs to make any changes from here on out...."
In other words, "we know it's broken. Fixing it? Welllllll...dunno."
(And I'm not bashing Customer Support -- unlike other games I've played, I find that here they reply with answers in a timely fashion! Unfortunately, it seems the dev team hadn't made this answer available yet.) -
And it LOOKS like they're all up!!
And they're taunting me like the last couple of days: " Account ____ is not allowed on this server. reason: Access to this server is currently restricted for internal use by NCsoft employees to restore corrupted supergroup bases. Your access will be restored to this server once our base restorations are complete. Thank you for your patience. "
11 little green lights all saying "nyah, nyah, nyah!" Taunt, taunt, taunt.*sigh*

so when is all this frequent downtime/maintenance going to end? three out of four days this week I haven't been able to play due to servers being down.
[/ QUOTE ]
Scroll UP
(But allegedly there won't be any maintenance tomorrow. So far. Who knows what might change between now and then?) -
[ QUOTE ]
Yes, because a perfectly legitimate use of the game is to create effortless kills that are unable to fight back against you so you can move your little blue bar without any risk whatsoever. Let's get that whole pesky "game" thing out of the mix and just play Progress Quest. (Google it.)
[/ QUOTE ]
Now that I'm done Googling and laughing, I've got this evil plan for whenever I hear the word "farm" in broadcast.
"ZOMG!!! farm? u need 2 play progres quest it rocks lololol hay lets start a COH guild there!!"
If only a handful leave, it's a start.... -

Well i15 would be nice. I must admit that all these patches are causing pain here in Australia. The servers are shutting down at 10:00 pm seemingly on every night I've tried to play recently.
[/ QUOTE ]
We recognize that we have been performing more maintenance periods than usual, and due to the need of the additional Thursday (April 23rd) down-time, we have canceled the Friday, April 24th maintenance.
Thank you for your patience as we resolve the remaining base issues.

Thank you, Ghost Falcon, for posting this into the Dev's Digest, otherwise I would have had no idea. :/

hows about going out and reading the patch notes for 4/20/2009? Perhaps that will clarify whether the bases have been fixed or not. =)
[/ QUOTE ]
Those would be the patch notes for 4/20 that they got around to posting on 4/21?!
[ QUOTE ]
Should have been a GMotD update, just like with the alert to not edit bases or make changes to storage. Patch Notes the last few months have been slow in being updated. I've stopped looking for them when I log into a new patch as a result.
[/ QUOTE ]
Seems to me that "Patch Notes the last few months have been slow in being updated OR NOT UPDATED AT ALL."
And I agree -- if you're going to make a GMOTD to say "hey!! Don't do this!" it would be nice if someone were to do the same when "hey!! It's fixed!"
Or maybe they could update the patch notes in a timely manner....or perhaps a "redname" could make an ANNOUNCEMENT on the forums under -- gee -- "Announcements" instead of replying to a post in "Technical Issues and Bugs."
While I'm grateful to the members of the CoX community that DO have the time to track down this information and re-post it, wouldn't it just make more sense for the information to be put where it belongs in the first place?! -

...one of the two full suits released in the Good vs. Evil edition, along with Justice, a Booster Pack, and a few other goodies. Most computer stores should now carry it, as well as Smartie... I mean Wal-Mart.

You can also buy JUST the "In Game Item Pack" for $9.99 US at the PlayNC Store:
https://secure.plaync.com/cgi-bin/St...amp;item_id=15
Good for those of us that are lazy, don't feel like going to the store, or are "Earth Friendly" and don't want to buy extra packaging or a CD-ROM.
I did it for the instant gratification, myself. "Clickety-click-click" and "hey -- instant goodness!" -
Snippet of my first conversation with ctab:
Ctab: I'm not sure.
User: What aren't you sure about?
Ctab: I'm being me!
User: And doing a damn fine job of it!
Ctab: Coral? Who's Coral?
User: I have no clue, ctab.
Ctab: I don't have a body, either.
User: You don't?
Ctab: Nope! Don't wanna!
User: Bodies are nice, though.
Ctab: Lotsa stuff is bouncy.
User: Ummmm. 'Bouncy' and 'bodies' could get me in trouble here....
Luckily for me, he changed the subject:
Ctab: Nope, Kelp's not a fish.
User: He's not?
Ctab: That's a shame.
Overall it was fun, but that abrupt left turn threw me for a second!
