just goes to show your damned if you do and your damned if you dont. last year everyone got in a huff about not discounting entries that didn't fit the criteria, now people are actually making a fuss out of eliminating someone who didn't follow the pre established rules, there is time to change shia's entry and he will be the wiser for it in knowing better for the next round.

Picked up a lot of new techniques, my process has basically been gutted and replaced with one more productive and accurate. should end up with both more productivity out of me and better quality work.

Maybe it came from the picture of him I did? dunno if you are still using that as a referance for the knotwork but there is a greenish tone to it in that (because there is a greenish tone everywhere :P) *shrug*

ahuh! rookie mistake on my part. it was saved as CMYK (print color profile) and I forgot to convert it to RGB. will send a web suitable file through.

there are alot of tiff options, one of the more compicated file formats. you can email it to me if you would like and I will convert it in photoshop.

Ransim, I'm soo glad your boyfriend likes the picture!
The main reason why the fire isn't as dark and is all washed out in orange is because I suck at making and painting fire effects. Gotta practice when I have more time...
Yup, I've been doing that with my pictures a lot nowadays. Including the zombie one. Usually I'll change the darkest color to a very, very dark value of a color that is already in the picture in attempt to "tie" it together more, or I'll use a color that contrasts against the main color of the picture. I do this in the 'Curves' adjustment in Photoshop. I personally like it more than boring old black. However, I do leave it black in some pictures if I find it looks better that way.
In Mel's case, I was so glad her eyes were green against her firey colors theme, since green and red are complimentary colors and it really stands out. so that is another positive.

That's cause the Mel pic that you're seeing here is a lower quality JPeG of the original PNG file. I don't like to spam up the boards with 500+ KB files, so I lower the quality appropriately. I kept the PNG file for myself.
Also, there's a difference in contrast here that's unusual for most Cashoo pics. Generally, she likes to use dark colors and blacks to contrast with the bright colors, making them pop out of the pic vividly. In this case, the whole thing is washed in oranges, so there's less contrast and thusly each individual color pops less. Though, interestingly enough, the abundance of warm colors makes Mel's green eyes glow, which is a detail that I love. -

hey man, got dragged away from your livestream today. but just went back and watched it, I found the stuff on Shklovsky and brecht very thought provoking and as always its great to hear anothers opinions on art related stuff and photoshop tricks.

I need heroes for My FArt contest entry. figured I'd ask the folks of this SG as it is my home in game. I have a layout sketched out of all of the figures so I basically need characters that fit the poses I have already got sketched out. most of these poses are subject to travel powers, gender and archytypes. you can suggest as many of your toons for as many of the poses they fit, but chances are I will only use one of each player.
*I need a super speedster (male) (A kinetics will do in a pinch)
*I need a flying (no weapon) blaster any gender.
*A Male ninja character, or a character that uses the ninja run/Jump ( I will expect that the running animation fits the character, not just someone who uses it because it is faster then sprinting and has no travel power.)
*A super jumper (Dont care about gender here.)
*A claws martial arts or duel blades scrapper (female)
*A flying or teleporting character (preferably of magic origin or concept.)
feel free to suggest as many as you think fit. suggest a friend if you wanna. they can be on any server, the characters dont have to be members of heroes studios (but the suggestion has to be from a member.) any coalitions are welcome as well. will not pick everyone's characters, so don't take offense if your not chosen, it just means I didn't like your character
