  1. Whenever i set a "team carnage" up (basically whenever im leader) i always go by these simple rules.

Difficulty level: Unyielding (2nd one iirc?)
Level of team: I MUST be the highest level player there by at least a level. This is so that everybody on the team is getting GOOD xp.
Type of mission: Something thats different. Whether its the hollow repeatables, a story arc, an ouroboros tf . . . anything. Although sometimes i do do radio missions if my contact hasnt given me the call option yet.

I only set up these kind of teams when i play a character that i KNOW can stand the heat of tanking a big mob (regardless of AT im on, people whos teamed with me know that i tank whether im a defender or scrapper xD). What this usually does then is maximise the mob count and keep the kills rolling.
While i may not be getting awesome xp due to them being white/yellows to me, the team is! Therefore the team steamrolls through missions creating nonstop kills (thus the term team carnage) gaining myself constant good xp and keeping the team happy since theyr lvlin quite a lot and are nonstop in the action.

Now to me, thats how a team SHOULD be. Dont think iv ever had anyone on one of my teams complain about it being "too easy". As long as theres a sense of a challenge (which there is, since theres a death every few minutes but awesome xp keeps them in team ) and nonstop action, people are happy doing whatever you say (in a non mastermind kinda way of course).

  3. Team . . . .. carnage . . . . . . lvl go boom . . . . . . more carnage . . . . .

    No team? . . . . .. no carnage? . . . . . . . no ding ding boom boom damz just lvld so shakalaka in his room? . . . . . . . damz be sad for that

But isn't this just based on prestige earned? Thus, obtained by farming? It may not show 'activity' of the super group, or any kind of 'achievement'. It just sounds a bit... pointless?

    [/ QUOTE ]

But to some people (myself included), we like to look at these "stats" or "leagues".

All it'ld be doing is adding to the current top 100 supergroup lists, not replacing it.
  5. Theyr still there Croatoa arcs still give like half a lvl of xp bonus and merits and a random SO enhancement.

Have had the bonus on croatoa arcs, freakolympics and something to do with crey.
  6. Ok atm there is the general top 100 supergroups on your server with total prestige earned, however whenever i look at the list i know for a FACT some of them have been inactive for a long time and i feel the list isnt totally accurate in that regards.

Therefore i suggest a top 100 supergroups of the month! Basically the same but with it narrowed down to the last month. Would make it easier for players to find active supergroups and to judge how well theyr doing against current active ones. (keep the top 100 overall sgs of course)

The top 100 is VERY VERY hard for a new supergroup to break into now and would (in a small way) give a small sense of achievement if you can aim to be the supergroup of the month. I know some people (like me) look at the most damage/most healed/most kills etc per month still and pride themselves on being in top 10, so cant see why this would be any different

You have always been rewarded for doing your own arcs. Nothing has changed here. I was hoping it might at least encorage PUGs to do something other than endless scanner missions, but no, it's still scanner missions. Absolutely no evidence that merits have changed behavior in any way.

    [/ QUOTE ]

To some extent i agree with the radio missions, but in the teams iv been in lately we'v been doing more story arc based missions (which i prefer, better ambushes ) and even the small ouroboros tfs, which before i13 i never got invited to a team before to do.

The only zones i think that'll benefit most from PUG arc teams are hollows, faultline, croatoa, midnight, cimerora and ouroboros. Simply due to the fact that its much easier for the entire team to start an arc at the same time in these zones.
  8. The price of the random rolls are 100% spot on, 20/30 merits for a chance of a good recipe is good value for money and can easily be obtained for any person.

I wont ever save up for the 250 merits recipes since i'ld rather have the random drops (3 so far, got 45 mill so far from them on lvl 31 toon xD), 250 merits for 1 recipe or 12 random drops which your almost guaranteed to get the money to buy your own from WW and have plenty of spare change? A no brainer imo.

Edit: Oh and that fire/kin team is all 1 person? That person has 8 accounts? Thats bad
  9. Also theres that new temp power (power analyzer i think?) to see the actual stats of any enemy you wish if that helps.
  10. On the temp buffs iv received so far, it'ld be nice if we had some sort of timer to go with it so we know how much time we'v actually got.
  11. Sorry wasnt being rude or anything, meant your avatar since youv changed it to show 2 pictures now, 1 man + 1 girl. Sorry if you took wrong way
  12. awesome gives me some ideas for my base

(off topic, but is golden girl now golden girl AND man?)
  13. Am i the ONLY one without a single day job badge?!?!!?!?!?!
  14. Character 1: Dressed up as a medieval knight using the standard broadsword option.

Character 2: Dressed up as a futuristic warrior with winged boots and a time traveller feel to him, also uses standard broadsword option.

Character 3: A fully metalic person who got transformed into some super being thanks to an experiment gone wrong, was able to "morth" the metal of his body into the standard broadsword option too.

Are they all fantasy based? Are they all the same?

Customisation is what sells this game Whatever concept you can think of in this game that you want your character to be, its more than likely possible.
  15. sorry way way way too easy to exploit My ill/rad would just pick fulcrum shift or elude and truely be unkillable
  16. Merits = awesome addition imo. Actually makes me want to go through the content in the game not just radio missions.

Me and a supergroup member went through the Mender tf (the pb, cant remember the name) last night and since we were both in the level range we got xp/influence AND both of us got the 4 merits at the end. I never really had time to commit myself to a long period of time for tfs/trials but least now i can actually get the rare drops for myself

Merits are so easy to comeby if you want them, especially via ouroboros. Think the best thing to do is either set up teams yourself and do story arcs or hunt down easy GMS for quick easy merits (lusca isnt an easy method for this ).

Already found a way for a whole team to get 20ish merits before theyr even level 15 so it is very easily done. Just dont expect merits to be falling from the sky

(side note, the 3 random rolls iv done so far have all been the new recipes which atm have next to no previous sale)

    PvP characters

Fair enough, i tried The whole idea just a thumbs down? From the pvp character to the rewards?
  18. Strange because i was in a 3 way pvp match the other day and two of us was /sr scrappers. My /sr has only basic IOs in its defence powers but was very noticeable that i wasnt getting hit nowhere near as much as the others (granted this was pre epics so wouldv influenced).

We all agreed after a couple of fights that /sr is much better now. /sr is basically all about luck really though isnt it.

    PvP characters

The idea: When you create a new character you are given the option to chose either regular or pvp character. The difference being that the pvp character is only allowed travel within the pvp zones/arenas and not into the "gaming world" as such.

More specific? When the player has chosen the pvp character option you are sent straight to the costume creator screen. All options are unlocked. Chose your starting powersets and then choose the pvp zone you'ld like to enter.

What about my power choices? In each zone in the hospital, there will be a pvp character level up contact (that works similar to the way multi builds work) in which you can now select ALL of your powers from level 1 to 50 (slots also). Once powers are chosen you are now sent to the enhancement screen. A list will appear with all STANDARD IOs/SOs for you to freely chose your enhancements from and slot as desired. These are all free (exploits stated later). Once you are happy with your slots its ready to pvp!

What if i want to travel to another pvp zone though? Well obviously a portal of some sort would have to exist in each zone that will teleport you to the desired zone.

What about costume changes/character respecs though? I cant claim them in pvp! Look at rewards for costume changes. My idea is that pvp characters can simply click on the lvl up contact in the zone and instead of a normal respec in which you change around your slots/powers, you now have the option to chose entire new powersets!!! This would be restricted to the AT youv chosen available powersets. To avoid exploits this could only be achieved via the following rewards below.

So what about pvp rewards? For a starter/introduction to rewards every 10 player control characters you defeat earns you 1 free costume change.
Similarly for power respecs you now get the option for a complete power respec for every 20 kills you get (too low or too high?). Power respec would be limited to once every 24 hours to avoid constant switching.
Everytime a player character is defeated, the person who defeated said player will get the level up bonus (max health/endurance) but without the tier 3 inspirations. If this is deemed as too much then possibly tone it down to 50% health/endurance return per kill. This should make teamed battles more interesting and give a SMALL chance to players that are outnumbered if they can get a kill in quickly.
Finally every player you defeat gives off "pvp merits" in which you can trade in costume pieces, temp powers, unlockable pvp missions and recipe rolls.

So what about regular characters? Well the regular characters can have the advantage by being able to use IO SETs in their builds and thus frankenslotting their toons to maximise potential. Unfortunately it'll mean they wont be able to use the power respec character.

Exploits? Pvp characters can NOT trade with anybody. This is to stop players trading enhancements. To stop people farming pvp merits, i'ld suggest a timer on each player.
    Player A defeats player B
Player A earns 1 pvp merit (3 if its the bounty)
Player A cannot earn another merit from killing player B for another 5 minutes
Player C can still earn merits from B if he can defeat him.
Player B can earn merits the same as usual.

Well thats my suggestion on how to improve pvp imo, tell me what you think and whether it'ld be well suited or not
  20. I like the "not too busy, not too quiet" servers we have over here. We'll never reach the numbers of the US and everybody knows that really but like iv said in all of the 5000000 threads like this. . . . . . i prefer having a decent size community in which if you get a pug together that your almost guaranteed that 80% of the team will be decent PEOPLE.

Last month everyone knows that the game went through a dry spell with people getting bored but that happens every year at the same time (didnt help with this issue taking so frickin long). Everyyear its the same . . . .

October/november: Doom threads everywhere. OMG I ASKED 5 PEOPLE IF THEY WANT TO TEAM AND ONLY ONE REPLIED. This game is dead because a new MMO is out (every year).

November/december: Woo love this game threads. Congrats to the devs threads. Actually threads about people having fun.

December/january: Threads about winter event/ski slope challenges. Threads about the next issue + valentine event.

Early febuary: Mini doom threads (mini because theyr usually of poor quality).

Late febuary: Event threads + omg the devs hate the eu threads.

March: We all love this game again threads.

Every year its the same cycle and every year its the same answer.

A lot of us enjoy playing here on the EU side of the pond.

Why should you? Theres more players on the US side: Well thats because these servers are our home servers. I tested out the US servers on a trial and while yes there are a lot more players, the welcome i received from the majority of players there was NOT to my liking (compared to here). Here in the EU, if you let yourself be known then you get to become part of the family and make a lot of friends, while in the US (in my short experience) you easily get lost amongst the crowd as such.

Then the devs should market the game more to increase EU subs: We'r already getting an increase in webbased advertising and constant reviews in magazines. In one magazine (pc gamer i think?), they have a MMO pull out section every month which rates every MMO out there. Know what it says about COH? "one of the most fun MMOs you'll play". Now if thats not good advertising (every month) then show me what is. <<I know really whats needed is a poster/shelf presence but that'ld be for a big update surely>>

What do new players have to gain from joining EU side now? Apart from one of the best communities out there? Well (from union pov) theres a lot of highly active regular players that interact with the "newbies" a lot to make them feel more at ease, people like myself - healer hero - tenshi yami - deep earth - varla santana - lightning blaster and many more. By having people like these its easier for the new player to interact with people who are familiar with their "culture" as such. Every region has its own sense of humour as we all know.

The new content isnt enough though: We all know that issue 13 is way too light on content. Issue 14 with the MA will 100% fix any sort of content issues for both new and existing players. Like others have already said, it was hard for a new player to play through all the content from lvl 1 - 50 2 years ago! Now its impossible pratically. Im levelling up a new character (lvl 28 atm) and im struggling to decide which arcs i want to do before i outlvl them.
Merits are an awesome new reward system once you get used to it. Its now VERY easy to get a ton of money low level due to this and i for one am going to be using it a lot! (best merit comeback iv worked out so far is i can get 20 - 30 merits per hour on certain arcs)
  21. This weekend iv had some of the most fun playing in teams than iv had in a long while

Teams have been constantly full (or almost full), has taken a few minutes to set up and has been how a team should be (imo):

    Fun
    Random
    A ton of enemies

What more can you want xD So a cool "cheers for fun teams" for everyone whos teamed with me on Noob buster in the last few days.

Heres to more random carnage teams!!!!

Hope it dont get to cartoonish, as would lose its draw to me, i like things to look more realistic then cartoony.

Another reason i stopped playing WoW was its way to cartoonish, Champions online also looks way to cartoonish from what ive seen.

As long as CoH maintains the same sorta feel, immersion it has i will keep playing it.

Granted i13 i feel was not up to a standard i was hoping for , has a few nice touches but in all its quite a mediocre issue, i14 not sure if its be good or bad having a mission creator, to early to say.

But im sure alot be looking forward to more in the next issue then what we seem to have got in i13.

    [/ QUOTE ]

100% how i feel too. Like that this game has a "real world" feel to it, if it became too cartoony it'ld loose its appeal to me.

This issue like you said has a lot of nice little features that SHOULD keep me busy until MA arrives (winter event next week or week after too?) but is much lighter than what i originally thought i'ld be. Both villain epics and MA got pulled out of it iirc?

Still the quality of the new arcs is enough to keep me interested in seeing what issue 14/15s missions will be like, think i remember in an interview that these missions were his testing ones?

After a good few play sessions i must say i love the merit system, whereas previously some of my characters wouldnt have the time to do tfs they can now just do a random roll Merits are so easy to come across too that it doesnt take too long either, very casual player friendly (yes i know i aint a casual player, just saying)

Regardless of what the hardcore people think about the new pvp, a few of us do actually like it. Obviously we wont ever be hardcore pvpers but if somebody asks me for an arena fight now i'll be more than happy to regardless of toon im on.

Overall, nice issue to fill in certain holes but it'll be the MA that'll get me to play for a few more years. I want more HUGE ambushes!!!!

I must say that I'd like the Magic Man arc the best, especially the last mission.

That final boss made me both lol AND go [censored]?! Loved that mission. Great xp and a great storyline.
