Nope no sleep in Illusion apart from the small component part in Blind.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But it can still take sleep IOs and procs in it as a bit of info.

  3. Some of the higher arcs which i do enjoy flashbacking to (RWZ/midnight arcs) are now going to get flashbacked even more for my mains.
Noticed one or two arcs in there too that can be much highly exploited (let you know after iv exploited them ).

You cant really say "this is the right way, your way is just stupid".

[/ QUOTE ]I just did. Using letter keys (whether WASD or something else like ESDF) is far more efficient than using arrow keys since it allows you to reach significantly more keys using one hand. And your other hand should be on he mouse most of the time.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    OR ( )

if your like me you use the one hand on the arrow keys while the other hand is on QW (turn left/right), therefore your QW hand is near the power activation buttons/binds which minimises time and is easier to remember.

I admit i hardly ever use the mouse ingame unless on the rare occasion i have to target a specific enemy before battle. Otherwise its a simple case of tab/"target_enemy" which is for me much more simpler and realistic than the way you described. If your way works better for you personally then great go with it, but for me this is my personall best method and my gaming hasnt suffered from it.

So once again all it comes down to is opinion/choices. There isnt a right way/wrong way about this subject.

    Edit:

    [ QUOTE ]
Well, on the subject of how different people handle movement...

I use W/S for forward/back; A/D for strafing; and the mouse with right-button depressed for rotating about my character's axis.

Each to their own, I say.

    [/ QUOTE ]

This is what i mean, its all down to personal choice to what the player deems more effecient/better for themselves.

[/ QUOTE ]Ah, that explains a lot of things.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    How?

[/ QUOTE ]If you don't get it, you're part of the problem.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I use arrow keys + Q/W to navigate. Some people might find ZXCV is easier for them to move around as an example. You cant really say "this is the right way, your way is just stupid".
You personally might find a certain method of more benefit to you and your friends but that doesnt make it the best option for other people. People have choices, let them make it without being put down as automatically wrong
  7. Unfortunately i went by synapse post HERE here in which he states 10 - 12k is a safe bet.

I went by that amount and thus calculated the rough estimate my base would have. The first room maze when completed had ROUGHLYjust under 3k safes and that was the small/easy room.
The second/third rooms were going to be double the size/safes which by estimations wouldv brought the total items up to between 14 - 15k. I couldv made the maze smaller/more simpler i know but it wouldntv been what i had planned so i decided that i had to delete it so as not to risk my supergroups base crashing. As you can see from the screenies it took a LOT of time just to do the first/simple room so i was actually quite gutted to have to delete them.
Even in a "mini damz rage" i spent the 110 mill i saved for it on my characters enhancements to make me feel better (how sad i know but ssshhh ).

But never fear, after enhancing my toon to a higher degree of earning influence faster, im now saving up again for an even BETTER competition night. If my ideas go through for this then it'll be an epic night.

Introducing the damzel maze!!!! (aka the crystal maze)

Its a bunch of fun mini competitions in which participants sign up (either solo/grouped havent decided yet) and people get points for position they finish in each competition.
Obviously this has only come into my head last few days so THIS one is now the new "3 weeks away" thing. But hes a rough sketch where rules/comps will change.

People sign up on here or ingame on the day. I set up a competition "table league" as such. People are guaranteed a prize amount for taking part in the entire thing. Whether i decide its solo or teamed will determin the outcome of what competitions are played.

For example if teamed there will be four options. Puzzle/technique/speed/strength and a random roll is used to decide which one will be played (OR if we'r doing a competition mini league then each team gets to picked and theyr timed on each task).

Puzzle = a sort of quiz based on city of heroes. For example what exploration badge has the description

"Fighting in a nice big arena is one thing, but fighting in a cage is completely... different. Only the strong survive a cage match. "

Technique = a possible race from 1 end of the map to other and "tag" your partner to run back? Level restrictions to make enemy spawns dangerous possibly.

Speed = On a designated map i'll go off to ONE of the exploration badge locations and hide near it. First team to find me wins.

Stregnth = Each team head to monster island, first to defeat a "monster" wins.

Again these are just ROUGH ideas im throwing together. Very dissapointed i had to delete the maze rooms (i showed it off to a lot of people lol) but hopefully something like this will be better.
Now dont expect an update until iv finalised plans and gotten myself a hell of a lot of money (so soon).

Edit: After reading the rough competition ideas, iv decided theyr rubbish and ima 100% think of something much more creative than that. Once date finalised i'll contact a few people i know ingame to see if they are willing to organise tfs/mothership raids/gm hunts after the competition day/night since im nowhere near as skilled as them in those departments.

Edit2: Also iv finally figured out how to have an ingame lottery which gets the "numbers" random rolls with no way of fixing the results. Update on this VERY soon
  8. Ok just wow. Very well done once again, shes got amazing talent.

Btw, where can you find those spectral demons covered in black smoke? Dont think iv ever encountered them ingame?

Again damzy, 14 level 50s here... and I suck on most of them.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But for power information surely you know what each powers does and what situation to use it in is if another player asked?

Man im loosing this badly. *looks for get outta jail free card*

Edit: My point being in that when he said he had 20 level 50s he instantly jumped to saying "all it shows is you like grinding and nothing else". Not sure how to word it right which is the worst part. Ok hows this:

For in-depth information/tactics you would go to somebody whose been playing a certain combo for many years, however if you wanted information about a number of powers/combos with the general knowledge that he/she would be correct it'ld be far easier to go to someone with a lot of experience in those powers.

    There think that makes sense.
Damz < < < in danger of being noob busted

also shows that he knows 20 combos of powers very well since hes played them all to level 50. Not many of us could actually say that.

[/ QUOTE ]Considering how some of the people I know play their characters even having been L50 for years, I would never take that for granted.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well yes there is that, hell im still playing my two 50s after all this time and love them.
But the point being in that there isnt all that much to learn about your powers once youv hit level 50. The only thing you can really improve on is skill not the actual power. So my point still stands that for power information on a larger scale he'ld be better suited to ask for hints/tips than say someone like me with only 2 level 50s.

Im an Elitist and proud of it, i think my four and a half years of playing and 20 lvl 50s gives me that right.

also shows that he knows 20 combos of powers very well since hes played them all to level 50. Not many of us could actually say that.
Do we have SOME experience? yes. Do we have the experience of a characters lifespan from 1 - 50 of 20 different combos? Large majority of players i'ld say no. So for information on those power combos it'ld be a good idea to talk to him, not for information on grinding as you put it.

We acquired 100 percent of the IP recently, so we have some major plans for City of Heroes for the future. Again, for this year we’re going to be doing regular updates, but there’s a lot of exciting stuff going on around City of Heroes, not for this year in terms of new releases, but certainly in the next couple of years.
An interesting statistic in terms of City of Heroes, because we track these things to see how the players enjoy playing the games, shows that the average duration of a City of Heroes player is 17 months, which we’re pleasantly surprised at.

    [/ QUOTE ]

it seems they knew content wise it wasnt going to be a good year for COX in 2008 but more of a buildup/transition to 2009 onwards. Hope the gamble pays off!

RIKTI DODGEBALL < < < < During one of the rikti raids a group of us got ontop of atlas and started using KB powers to knock them off the side. Whoeevr got the most "points" won Warning: Dont be underneath us when we play dodgeball.
  16. During my 40/41 months ere iv only been able to team for this last year (VERY poor computer ) so now i can finally do the valentines mission. For me its a new event, yay for crappy computers! ^_^
  17. ill/emp is a very powerfull combo too. When played right you become almost two players rolled into one on a team.

Edit: Its also a very good build for people that like to keep active high levels.

    Elitism

I think we can safely say that the majority of us have at some point or another fallen foul to the thought of "iv been here longer so therefore im right".
In my opinion its healthy and good for the soul to have some form of "elitism/ego", now i agree that too much is bad and detrimental (oh thats so a spelling mistake but oh well) for all of us but surely a small amount is good?

You can look at the argument two ways really.
Firstly that when a new player joins a large community they usually seek out the players that have been around the block a few times to help them out and give advice. Its the thought that once youv been playing the game for *** number of months that you should know quite a bit (how ED works, drops, some form of power mastery etc) and are therefore inaway deligated (spelling again? its early ok) to help out your fellow new players. This will enhance the gaming experience for the majority of us in the long run if the advice is given out in a way that doesnt offend the less experienced of us.

Now of course there is the other side to this in that some players will constantly think that just because a player has only just recently joined that their opinion/skill doesnt matter as much as theirs. Is this morally correct? No of course not. Is it mathematically correct to say that a player playing for 3 years has more experience/skill than a player playing for 3 months? 95% of the time i'ld say yes.

At the end of the day when we all joined the game for the first time there was always different groups of people and its up to the new players to decide which group they think they'ld fit best into.
Are they a roleplayer? Do they like interacting with others in atlas? Prefer non stop tfs/farms? Just random PuGs? Teaming with veterans or new players? There are so many different player definitions in this game that at some point or another one group WILL clash with another.

"Oh this group is spoiling my groups fun because of so and so"

Now i do agree with your post in saying that people should be more carefull in the way they hand out advice and not to sound so elitist (i know iv sounded very big headed now and then) but can also see the reasons FOR being like it. After all the players who have put time/effort into perfecting their skills fully deserve to have a BIT of an ego, just in a moderation

    Influence

These methods only work once your character is already quite good.

Mender silos 4 mission farm : If you like to go solo then do this. Basically you go through the first four missions in this flashback taskforce and once you know the route/best options in it, it'll generate a lot of inf at a fast rate (for a solo anyway). I narrowed it down to 1.2 million earned influence per 10 - 15 minutes, when you factor into account the chance for drops then it'll obviously raise.

Shadow shard : Just like before, if you can handle large spawns which usually contain bosses then go to the shadow shard and street sweep. The area isnt TOO tough and all the spawns are nicely placed together. You get good drops and a good rate of influence/prestige.

Recluse Victory : Like the others have said, get a mech and go.hunt.kill.spiders/turrents. In my opinion this is better for prestige farming though.

Low level farm : If your under level 15 and got a pillar of ice/flame inside your supergroups base then team up with somebody higher than level 15 and get them to start the flashback "Lt wincott vs the trolls" arc. Its quick and simple and once you complete it, not only will get a few badges (depending on options obviously), but you'll get the ouroboros temp power plus a level 30 rare recipe at the end guaranted. 6/10 times they sell for quite a bit at WW. Even when they dont theyr still quite handy.

Only other tip is to always sell your items. Most people tend not to sell the standard IO recipes like "lvl 50 damage", but at stores they sell for roughly 100k each. They do add up.

  23. The one that im thinking of is the unlockable roman costume pieces you get from completing the ITF in cimerora. Closest thing anyway that i know of to statesmans face piece.
  24. Defenders inherit power: For every PCC in a 20ft radius of yourself, you gain a %endurance discount.
Isnt what your looking for unfortunately in terms of solo ability, but would be more usefull than the current version.
