Well i checked on the US forums and apparantly it is possible to cap ranged def as thats how they solo pilons with blasters . . . .

Thats the set i was thinking of! thanks! With the auction house bug at the moment im finding it hard to look for the sets i want in a short amount of time.

Plus i think a ranged blaster with capped/high ranged def would be awesome in pve and half decent in pvp without too much change needed

I actually sent a petition against myself to see if it could be considered a farm but the risk element is too high to be considered a farm apparantly.

Though it is pretty obvious its one of the "lol!!! omg [censored]?!?! " kind of missions where you really have to be on your toes just to survive As a big fan of non stop carnage/fighting against nonstop waves of enemies it seemed the perfect kind of mission to myself personally.

Then again i suppose if you added even a single ally to the mission then it could be considered a farm straight away.

This statement is correct. Since its a proc it'll only have the chance to fire everytime it activates against an enemy.

Procs only work nonstop when the auto power affects you and not the enemy.

For example:
Chance for buildup proc: If you slot this into a power like tactics then it'll have the chance to activate once every 10 seconds [is the time correct?] since the powers buff affects you and doesnt rely on a teammate/enemy to be close by.

Howdy all! Remember me? Im the dude who was asking questions about the AR/NRG combo and let me just say that it rocks! Boost range + full auto = wow!

Anyway yeah i was just wondering how high def a blaster can get to? Can you cap ranged def? Im level 39 atm and just started slotting for ranged def. At the moment im at 16% and off the top of my head i know i can get to roughly 30%, any tips on how to get it higher without nerfing myself too much?

So far i've figured slotting my 2 "ranged" attacks with thunderstrike 6 slot. Both combat jumping + superjump with 2 universal travels [3% ranged def per power], a +def all pvp io and finally the sniper set that gives you an extra 3% too iirc.
But any hints or tips to raise it further would be greatfull For the target AoEs i figured my best set to go for was positrons blast, however everything else im now a bit stumped on.

Am i heading in the right direction?

Use the ST blasts as a "chain filler", it might do more/less damage than AoE's but think about the recharge and other attributes that come with the power.

ST attack deals 200 damage and recharges in 3 seconds
AoE attack deals 220 damage and recharges in 15 seconds
