My first good home is Justice. I have my heroes there.
I was able to get my troller up to lvl 36 and for a friend I created a widow so we could run redside on Justice. I also added Wolfborg and got him to 10
My bad home is Pinnacle where all my villains are. I spent alot of the time here getting all my lvl 13s to high 20s.
I created a couple of toons on Guardian and I think Liberty.
One of my newest toons is a mechanoid called XLR8 or Excellerate. I just liked the name is all.
Seeing how I have my days free (except when I have to clean the house) I'm all for hanging out and having fun.
My only drawback is that when others get negative, I turn into the Admonishing Hulk.
I got dibs on that name too. -
I have many toons. I've created a universe based on the characters I have created. I have also done many 3d artworks of my fem toons and bad guys. Here's the list of characters:
Flareback 50 fire/fire/fire blaster
Briarstone 32 stone/stone tank
Icedown 31 ice/emp controller
Psydeswipe 18 dual/regen scrapper
Darkwarp 13 warshade
Lightwave 11 peacebringer
Ampervolt 11 elec/storm defender
Embervolt 11 emp/fire controller
Dursabot XII 11 nrg blaster
Gen. Dursagon 50 robot/dark MM
Dursabot X 8 Robot/traps MM
Narbonedella 6 necro/pain MM
Malidar 18 nrg brute
Ssagaross 12 elec brute
Viceralia 22 mart/agile stalker
Jatonikhan 11 claw/regen stalker
Dursabot XI 15 psy/ment dom
Frostblaine 8 ice dom
Undergrowth 6 plant/thorn dom
Evil Flare 14 fire/therm corr
Adirael 13 dark corr
Dissarray 6 nrg corr
Spiderfrog 6 widow
I have had artworks done of a few of these and I do plan to get everyone of them up to lvl 50.
Of other concepts I have, there is Wolfborg a claw regen scrapper idea that I came up with and gotten art of. I also did a line of winged dragons of every color when the wings and monsterous settings first came out. If and when I get all my main toons up to 50 and I still feel like playing, I'll create a Rad Def and a wolf/crab spider toon. Of course I have to fit in everything between all the calls for my blaster tank and troller. -
I have to bow before your sculpting might. Great job! At first I thought it was going to be the Thing and then the Juggernaut.
Just awesome video there. -
Now all we need to do is hit the You tube video about 10 million times to make the top 10 Online Viral Videos of the Year...

Just a quick update:
I've been so quiet lately because I have been divided between playing the game here and there, and working on the 3d renders of my characters. Well, there was housework and kid raising mixed in there as well....
What has been taking alot of time to work on is the textures and the personalizing of the models. So much go into creating a unique character that I have found myself switching characters just to add one more detail to them. I've been tweaking up a storm. To make one 3d character, a base model is needed. Then comes the morphs and then tweaking the morphs to get the face and body just right. Morphs can require up to if not more than 100 settings. Then comes outfitting or posing depending on which way the artist likes to work. In some cases, the outfit also needs adjusting to fit to the character if alot of morph changes happened. Then comes accessories and effects and their posings and then lighting, background models and backdrops and finally compositioning in photoshop to add details to the work.
I just got tired writing the steps out.
But that is what I've been doing times 20. I've also been pushing down the commish bug because of the work I'm putting into improving. I did a couple of freebies for Prof Blue and Grumpy Goat and when I can I feel I'm going to do some more. Lately, what I have done for others have been surprise works.
I can't say enough how appreciative I am of those who like my stuff and hang around to see what's next. I only wish I was faster. -
Here's a view of my character:
Gen. Dursagon
It WAS fun doing this. I hope I added to the fun for others as well. Everyone have a happy new year. -
Unless it means breaking a lego piece to get another piece to fit into it, it isn't off limits to lego. I have seen Lego pros do some things to the bricks.
This is a great piece and shows your sculpting creativity. It takes skill to make something reconizable like that and I should know seeing how I've been a collector since 1977. -
Next thing you know people will be bumping this thread just to keep the art-fu going.
Merry X-mas all. -

Sorry Wilde_Fire, I didn't know you was editing... My bad.

Now this match is brought to you by Price Co!
Volley 110
Price Co, where everything is real AND supersized!
(Price Co claims no responsibilities for eye, neck or any other form of strains.) -
I've done a new render using a new technique and I need input. I'm trying for a look and I need to see if I'm doing the right thing. I have other techniques I can use so it's okay to tell me to go back to the drawing board.
Icedown Freezing -
How about this version? "costume" I made it 4 colors because I like to go overboard!
At least I didn't put a rainbow on it...
Oh look, it's the flaming peacock! Naw that's just Adam West...
Just KIDDING!!!
Anyway, I tried combining the lock design with the dagger design. At first I had him wearing golden bracers but that took away from the balance of the dagger style of the pants.
But if you don't like it, I'll understand. It does kinda look like a bullseye to his chest.
"C'mon badguys! Hit me HERE! Right in the star! I dare ya!"
Last week he dared Gashback his invincible buddy to run face first into a building. Now the guy looks like a offspring of a Persian cat who mated with a Pug! -
Yeah..... If people wanna get drunk, all they need to do is ask me to get on the slope. I tried and tried and there was no way I was staying on that thing.

I had two main servers that I used:

Briarstone 32 stone/stone tank
Icedown 28 ice/heal troller
Psydeswipe 11 dual/regen scrapper
Darkwarp 11 warshade

Emberchilde 10 fire/fire troller
Lightwave 10 peacebringer
Dursabot XI 10 nrg/nrg blaster
Pinnicle all villians
General Dursagon 50 tech/dark MM
Malidar 28 nrg/nrg brute
Viceralia 25 ma/agil stalker
Frostblaine 15 ice/ice dom
Ssagaross 15 elect/elect brute
Evil Flare 18 fire/fire corr

Adirael 15 dark/dark corr
Dursabot X 10 tech/tech MM
Dissarray 6 nrg/? corr
Undergrowth 6 plant/thorn dom
Spiderfrog 6 widow
I also recently created a new toon, Frostbarrier, shield/ice tank, on guardian to run with some friends who moved from justice to there. I was going to run on liberty, but my sub ran out.
I have a few concept characters like Wolfborg on infinity, but I haven't played them at all. I also did many dragons on freedom as blasters with elemental powers like a fire red dragon or a blue electric dragon.
So, I'm all over the place with too many ideas for my own good! At least I didn't create any spartan toons! -
So a list of the tools in order of need for an artist? This is only my opinion so take it for what it's worth:
1: Photoshop or other equal picture editing program
2: Wacom or Intuos Pen Tablet
3: Scanner
4: (which now I think about it should be #1) top processor PC with memory, memory, memory, memory! (just in case you have 4 slots)
Rest depends on preferences and media of choice -
It's the rendering that Poser is short on. alot of people use another rendering engine like vue, I think. The other programs have more options with rendering which help to bring out the subject where Poser can leave things slightly flat. A good comparison is Dark Jedi vs my work. Mine doesn't have alot of depth so I try to make up for it with motion posing, lighting and other things... Of course, photoshop also has it's own set of lighting and what-not. But yeah, Daz, Renderosity, Carrera, 3D Studio, Bryce, Anime Studio and Manga Studio, all the softwares get expensive!
The free one is Daz Studio. but it can get one started into the 3d realm....
I wonder if anyone else knows of other free graphics programs... -
Sorry to bump the thread but i just finished another piece that I was working on. I guess I'm just jumping all over the place today.
Cover Art -
I use Photoshop and Poser, but not to their full potential yet. Alot of people have many programs that cost a fair amount of money not to mention the added cost of tablets and digital pens. Paint, gimp and photoshop are usually the top software packages. I prefer Photoshop because of all the different things someone can do. Deviant Art is a good place to find answers to those questions about graphic software.

Thanks again and in celebrating getting back on, I created the following: Flare's Comeback
-
No Apologies needed. I've always wished I had the other rendering programs and what-not that others have. I'm just lucky to have Poser, Photoshop and the models that I've been able to pick up. I've mostly been trying to tweak the things I do have control over.
I guess I'm kinda like the artist who is working with leftover paints and his fingers on paper because he couldn't afford real brushes with canvas and top-notch paints.
But I do take it in stride. That's why I just keep practicing and doing it for experience. I also listen to other renderers and am open to their comments. -
Thanks for the welcome. I forgot to let everyone know that if they wanted to find me in game, my name is @flareback
Now to go dust off the cobwebs from my characters... -
Aw man, that puts my efforts to shame...
