Quote:And then we all take a drink. Its a meme that doesn't know it is.
Any time the game does just about anything it will upset someone and eventually that someone will come to the forums and say that what was done is so bad that it is like the developers gave them a slap in the face. The thing about it is, the people who say it MEAN it, and think that they are going to open the developers eyes with their strong analogy.
But the joke is on them, because as soon as you toss out a "slap in the face" your argument looses all credibility and you get laughed out of the building ... at least by me

You're angry at one guy, out of the entire organization. How do you know he wasn't just doing what he was told to do? Wouldn't that make more sense, then assuming that a (still current, mind you) fan and player of CoH would deliberately cause harm to the game?
Quote:Having worked on two PVP centric MMO's prior to COH, I understand this very well. This is why we continue to advocate for those who remain.
And I say this as someone who was not part of that community. You can be glib about it, especially seeing as how you had no hand in it, but you have to at least understand that a lot of people were hurt by these words.
For my part, I don't PvP because my main is an Empath. When they added heal decay, I was a perfect recipe for instant team death. I used to help folks out from time to time, but now I'm a team albatross. -
I wonder what rank I can achieve in the 88s...

Quote:I was wrong, and concede my argument. There are people who are passionate about the loyalty program. My whole opinion is that in a ways this LOYALTY program is pure BS. Both me and my wife had been subscribed and devoted followers of the game and lost out when they killed our accounts a day EARLY from the time it was said to cancel. All due to it being a Holiday that Business day and we couldn't even get into the bank to deposit money on our cards. That was this last New Year's Eve. So I was already ticked about it and we renewed about a week later when we could. Hell people work and all and it was still in the same month it ended that we renewed... I believe it should be offered on the Marketplace at least to those who had these issues. Heck to leave people out of it is like getting free cash at your business and then expected to pay it back cause you weren't paying for your membership in thier business.... Seriously? I mean how many people who have spent tons of hard earned money in these trying times to keep what they have. Just to get all they can at the expense of real life issues and problems is nuts.... This is why alot of people have been giving up on the game for VIP and some are jumping ship to other games who feel they are treated better. This isn't the first FREE MMO nor is it the last...... but rest assured..... Tick off enough people with this screwy deal of this and that.... and your gonna push people to less play mmo's and go back to console gaming all over again.... (let's not get me started on that with the price gouging and all.)

Congratulations. Outside of Zwill's sneak peeks (of which this is one), this is the first "press" style release writeup you've done on this whole shebang since it started.
Don't worry, I got the message loud and clear. -
I think it's time for Lucre the First to make an appearance...

I'm sorry, but I must be missing something. The Overview could not be "live in the game," as it is a website-only feature. There has never been a "live in the game" issue overview.

Quote:Where is the "YES, THIS^^^" button?I didn't say anything about EATs. It fails to "shore up the weakness" of any AT lacking control completely. It fails to "shore up the weakness" of low damage mod ATs as effectively as it does for high damage mod ATs. It fails to "shore up the weakness" of any ranged AT that plays at range looking for surviviability or for any AV situation. And it fails to "shore up the weakness" of anyone looking for more support unless there is at least 5+ stacks of support from 5+ people.

Welcome to last week, plus five pictures.

If you're a VIP, or purchase individual chapters from the Market, they appear in your Contacts list as "Signature Arcs" or something like that. You can even start them from there. There are seven, currently, which comprise the entirety of the first big arc, "Who Will Die." The next arc, "Pandora's Box," starts with I23. The arcs offer unique awards, and can be run once a week for access to these, plus a "bonus" time for the first time you run one.

Quote:Because then it would be a complete wash--we weren't delivered anything that we didn't have any interest in in the first place. I wouldn't be disappointed if this incentive program was nuked--because I have no reason to be excited."We did not receive enough positive feedback last year to warrant devoting developing time to loyalty rewards this year."
Compare this page, which preceded the event by two weeks, to this one which preceded it by forty-eight hours. The first pictures of which were posted last week.
Granted, I don't speak for everyone, just myself. But what incentive is there to participate in this thing when it's thrown together with such little (apparent) effort? Is Paragon used in the one picture? Is anyone using Inner Will? Hello?
TL;DR: Meh. -
Yes.
Quote:Well, my original post was "lost", but let me just say that the marketing team needs to get its act together. You don't reveal the full details of a loyalty program after it begins, and you definitely don't reveal them only after the program ends. It's stupid and self-defeating.
Quote:I have to say with the announcement of these helms and the time that you all had to get them done. I feel quite unsatisfied. The Recluse helm looks absolutely terrible, because the proportions are off. I am not completely blown away with the Statesman one either. Come on guys. You are capable of better.
Other people earned my "loyalty" to this game. This "program" is just...wow. Just wow. -

The only new item they showed on the UStream was a static photo of the aura. If this is enough to encourage people to go back in time and stay subscribed, then they've done their job well.

Spoilers, yo.
Quote:That was a mystical death, and tPtB allowed it to be mystically reversed. They've addressed mystical death vs. natural death a number of times in both the BtVS and Angel series, and there is no coming back from a natural death--ie Tara, Joyce, Jenny, Doyle, etc. Wes remained dead, albeit ghostly for a bit. Fred's death was mystical, but it destroyed her soul in the process--there was nothing left to "bring back." Angel and Spike's deaths have all been mystical, which is why they keep coming back.Granted Buffy's pals revived her from the dead at least once so it could likely be done again.
I know that it's a loose mythology, especially considering that death from massive blood loss counts as natural, unless a vampire caused it by feeding, in which case it is mystical. -
Welcome backfire Professor Back!
