  1. On the bright side, the lack of lunch would help the ability to adhere to the no bio breaks rule...
  2. MOARDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

...Eh. I like the old doom better. This looks like "boredom".
  3. The real action is with letters like A and R, which are both open and closed. You get the best of both worlds.
  4. That's the vernacular spelling. The official spelling is K-T-R-Q-Z.

    KTRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRQZ!
  5. Dear Caves,

You should pop up behind office building doors more often. And I'm not talking about those of you who are underneath office buildings and accessed via an unsightly hole in the linoleum, but proper cave-only caves somehow accessible from the front door of an office building. It's just better that way.

    Smooches,

    What about BicycleRepairMan?

    Robotics Mastermind with Super Speed.

What is up with Lord Mako in the STF?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Apparently he stole Captain Recluse's powers and became uber.
  9. IIRC the Surviving Eight are the surviving eight members of the pre-war Freedom Phalanx, not the only eight heroes who actually survived the war (of which there are many more than just eight).

A better actress than Halle Berry?

Another question: Who gives the high-level villain arc where you have to kidnap the rogue Fortunata who then "volunteers" to be turned into a Tarantula Mistress?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Who else, but Westin Phipps.

[/ QUOTE ]Its sad when he is the only contact that actually gives "Evil" missions. My hope is that going forward the devs have a more darkerside for villain content.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Must...resist...urge...to argue...

    [/ QUOTE ]

I just hate how he is such cliche evil most of the time, especially his abuse of "you have outlived your purpose". Someone should write an arc where he tries to pull that stunt on you and have it backfire on him horrifically.

    [/ QUOTE ]

There is a halfway-decent "Take down Westin Phipps" arc on the AE. It's heroically themed, but my Widow did it anyway; any chance to stick it to that creep.
  12. I say replace the Flight and Teleport tier-4s with Blast nukes and be done with it. Whirlwind can be reworked to include Dual Blades and be the horizontal version of One Thousand Cuts.

There will be so many Dante clones/ripoffs out there, it won't even be funny.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Dante?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Is it sad that the first thing I thought of was not the video game dante, but the divine comedy dante?

    [/ QUOTE ]

You wanna talk sad? I will see you your classical literature Dante and raise you a Mage: The Ascension Dante.
  14. If people come up to me and ask questions or ask in chat and I can understand their typing, I'll answer to the best of my knowledge.

On the other hand, I do think there's sort of a cyclical culture of "figure it out for yourself, and woe unto you who doesn't pick it up fast enough" in the game. When I was new, I'm sure I ticked off more than a few experienced players with my greenness; hell, I probably still do on toons I'm rusty/bad with like my Stone Brute. But I kept plugging away and learning and doing my own research, and now I'm where I am today: a 4-year veteran who can look down his nose at everyone worse than me.

I believe in answering questions that don't carry the stench of someone unwilling to learn. But at the same time, I evolved in this game by being thrown into the proverbial shark tank and learning to survive on my own. Part of me can't help but treat others with the same relative apathy. Shrug.
  15. I'm not exactly a fan, but my namesake toon is a Dual Blades/Electric Armor Stalker who is supposed to be a parody SW character. Duck Dim Sum is his "Jedi name".
  16. [ QUOTE ]
The ever-common 'Oh, I'll come with you on this mission, since you'll never beat up [Archvillain!] without my help!' contacts are downright obnoxious, though.

    [ QUOTE ]
This happens once in the last mission of the arc...but I don't think I overdid it any. It's not because you NEED help. You can always send feedback.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hmm, I'm guilty of this as well. But I did it because I didn't want to be accused of having a lazy contact who wouldn't do things for herself - which honestly, some of the dev arc contacts totally are. I didn't realize I was contributing to a cliche.

    Villain Empaths?

Also, as I said before, what if an Empath who has developed his abilities further ends up going mad? What if feeling everyone's emotions overwhelms the person's brain driving him/her insane? Then at the same time, the person retaliates by attacking/twisting the emotions of those around him? It is theoretically possible for an Empath to be a villain if the person is able to control the emotions of others.

    [/ QUOTE ]
I believe that is precisely what Pain Domination is. They are the antithesis of Empathy. IMO, fallen Empaths would become Pain Doms, as fallen Jedi become Dark Jedi.

If Castle were to add the ability for Villains to be Empaths I would be very, very disappointed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Everything is white or black in your life?

Many Arachnos followers do not see themselve as bad or evil persons at all. They are not different than the military in Paragon City. They are not all inherently Evil. An empath could just fit well in Arachnos even if her only goal would be to tend to the wounds of her comrades.

Again, there is nothing inherently good about being an empath. There is nothing inherently evil about dominating pain.

You are assigning moral values to powersets. Powersets have none. The way you use powers sorts you out as evil, or good.
Guns are not evil, people that use them might or might not be however. Simple as that.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's probably the most ridiculous example of hyperbole I've seen in my entire time on these boards.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Well, unless you are an Opus Dei servant, i have a hard time understanding why what i have written here is sooo hyperbole to your eyes. Seriously.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You seriously don't think equating the dangers and responsibilities associated with guns with video game powers wasn't just a little far-fetched? Even on an Internet message board, where Godwin's law is regularly practiced?

Hie thee to some perspective and step back from the game, then. You're taking it way too seriously.

And stop pulling your overwrought, backhanded accusations from The Da Vinci Code; you're obviously far too impressionable to be reading material so far above you.

Also, if you level up in the AE, you'll miss a lot of badges and the accolade powers that come with them. You'll miss opening up Ouroboros and the Midnight Club and unlocking hidden contacts (redside) and TFs (blueside).

    [/ QUOTE ]

ProTip for getting Oro without leaving the MA building:

"hey, can someone drop an Oro portal for me?"

Hop through and get the badge.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But after you leave Ouroboros, you won't be in the AE building anymore. Then you'll have to, like, travel back to it. That's tooooooo haaaaaaaaard.

What about our moderators, such as Niviene, Avatea, The Ocho? Or those who have come and gone, such as Cuppa, Lighthouse, or Ex Libris? Give them faces everyone has a chance to see :O

    [/ QUOTE ]

Eh. The game already has too many existing NPCs that are seen far too rarely, if at all. Bringing board/community personalities like mods and community reps into the game as prolific NPCs would cheapen the experience. I'm still trying to get over having Castle in-game.

Wouldn't that be Red Iron or something of the sort?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    I'd argue for "Red Wood".

And if any NPC should be the mascot for Going Rogue, you'd think they'd hit up Foreshadow first. Then the Praetorians for Recluse & Pals.

Any possibility for some type of acrobatic type of movement as a new movement power?

Kind of like what Sabertooth does when he runs.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not everything you see in every new movie is a good idea to implement in-game.
  24. If only that were true. I'd go into PVP zones for more than just the Day Job badge if I could actually watch someone punch himself to death.
