EVERYTHING in Going Rogue is new for veteran players

but yeah, I understand they are busy with GR so it doesnt bother me terribly that there is nothing new for spring fling but a log in badge would have been nice. something simple like that
  2. I have an Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX video card in my system and was wondering how up to par it is with other cards that can do the ultra mode? I also have another 8800 that isnt installed atm that I can put in for SLI mode.
  3. my motherboard comes with some diagnostic tools and i ran em and found that for some reason my power supply fan isnt running at all oh joy me, its brand spanking new!
  4. I have had this computer for a while now and have recently changed my motherboard and replaced my power supply. today after doing a fresh install of Windows and new drivers for everything and new install of CoH I fired up the game and after upping the graphical settings to max the game either freezes the entire system or the computer simply powers down.

My MoBo is an ASUS P5N-T Deluxe
2.75 GIGs of RAM (using 32 not 64 bit ver or it would recognize more)
2x Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX video cards
    Ultra 3 1000W power supply.

I have never encountered an issue like this before using these cards. the previous power supply is the exact model. the previous MoBo is a ASUS P5N32-SLI Premium. AFAIK that should be a factor though.
  5. THANKS that worked perfectly! I will still need to get a wireless adapter though as the internet is sluggish being shared as is but this will get me tied over till then. thanks again!
  6. I know it can be done because I have had it working several years ago but I am trying to use my laptop's wireless connection to get my main machine on line. my main computer is too far from the router to run a cable so instead I networked my main computer to my laptop via a standard ethernet cable between the two (no router between them).

the network is up and running allowing me to share files between the two computers. On my laptop, when I try to bridge the LAN connection to my wireless connection to allow my main comp to go online then not even my laptop can go online. I know it has to do with firewall and the TCP/IP but when I try to enable the TCP/IP on the LAN connection I lose internet. turning off the firewall seems to do nothing and the only reason I turned it off is because of stuff I have read on line at microsoft's website.

    Im so aggrivated GRRRRRR

    SG's i meant SG's sorry i multi task to many mmo's lol
if you ask me things would be allot simpler if SGs and VGs got to convert to a PG (Pretorian Group) then theres no fuss, no muss!

You can switch from red to blue and keep your red accolades, but you won't get the same type of accolade blue side.

You can get the BADGES that would normally grant the blue side accolade, you just won't get to "double dip".
I am not sure if I am reading this right or where your getting your info but personally I don't care about "double dipping" but as an avid badger I would like to express my desire to have the accolades both sides (even if I only get the benefits of the first version I got) Mainly I desire both versions as a completionist. Lets face it, most of us badgers are either completionists or OCDers or both.

Think of the ramification of trying to keep track of which badges you have gotten if you have to constantly go "OH! no wonder I can't get that accolade I have been trying so hard to get, I already got it months ago on hero side but totally forgot about it!"

he who dies with the most shinnies wins. he still dies but there are always awakens
  9. the funny thing is that I am on the verge of doing a "reset to factory settings" any way. I am just waiting on the power supply for my main computer to get that back up and running before I do anything with my laptop

I just checked out the analyze site and my only question is now that I know whats not so good, how do I find it and get rid of it? just using the search files function?

any suggestions on the video driver issue?
  10. sorry about the DX Diag, I deleted that info from my post and posted a hijack this report.

I went to the support site for my laptop and the latest driver they had is from 09-25-2007 the supposed link for it does nothing when clicked. so I went to the intel website as suggested. and after downloading the driver from here... which was updated on February 28, 2008 I downloaded it and upon installation process I got the following error...

"The driver being installed is not validated for this computer. Please obtain the appropriate driver from the computer's manufacturer. Setup will exit."

thought you were talking about the window that pops up when the game crashes. and no there is no "error.log" under the game's log folder. All that folder has is a folder called "game" that has chat logs, a txt file called "cohupdater.log" and a txt file called "net_disconnect.log"

  12. there isnt one. just has that "tell us what you were doing when the game crashed" window.
  13. ever since the launch of I16 I have been getting game crashes left and right. I expected this to some degree as in the past, new issues always proved to cause this issue. Usually however, the problem is cleared up with in a few weeks, instead it just slowed down in its occurrence to a hardly noticeable issue.

Lately it has been getting worse and worse for me and as of today I had the game crash on me 3 times in the space of a few hours. Is this happening to any one else? did they never stabilize the servers after I16? sigh. I'm put off from playing CoH for today. time to go waste my time on some other game
  14. Its funny cause I was looking at the Asus P5N-T Deluxe before reading your post. Its perfect because I actually do have 3x Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTX cards but only listed 2 cause I didn't think I would be able to find a 3 way SLI. ASUS has a way better warranty and service dept any way. thanks for the help.
  15. Sigh, the MoBo I had my eye on is no longer being carried. I am going to get one this month but only have about $100 to spend. I am running a socket 775 (can't remember the exact CPU I have but its a Duo core) I am using DDR2 RAM (I think its 4 gig total) I have 2 Nvidia Geforce 8800GTX video cards and Xfi Pro Sound Blaster card. The MoBo I was using is the P5N32-SLI Premium/WiFi-AP I am running a 1000W modular PS, and need 6 SATA connectors min. an HDMI out port would be awesome too.

any suggestions? I been waiting for this MoBo too damn long but every time I wanted to get the new one I chose it was no longer available UGH!

    Winter's Gift

its not the set bonuses that bother me, its the "natural" origin route thats getting screwed. all travel powers don't allow for Natural origin movement except by forced PR means. super speed, super jump, fly and teleport are simply not natural means of transportation.

the closest alternative to this is sprint, swift and hurdle. in effect I still take the same number of powers to get as close to on par with others travel abilities but still lacking and sets are the only way to bridge that gap. I was looking forward to slotting winters gift into sprint because of the + jump and + run components. the - end mearly negated the need to keep sprint on (not that it was a big deal end wise)

that combination along with jump IO in hurdle and run IO in swift would have made a natural travel power feasable. instead pure natural characters are screwed.

Additionally, (If I remember correctly) auto powers like swift and hurdle are denied ANY travel set categories, because of their interaction with the stealth IOs. When IO's were first released, you could slot the respective movement sets in swift and hurtle. but that was later removed.
I can put stealth IOs into sprint, and if I had combat jumping or superspeed I could still put stealth, - knockback proc and -slow in one travel power. this doesn't change anything regaurding sprint being able to slot any of these. I can slot sprint with stealth currently so whats the difference?

universal vs travel for that travel type yes, the only REAL benifit I would gain from putting a universal in sprint when it comes right down to it is that both run AND jump are being enhanced. but thats no more different than using the same number of slots for the - slow, jump IO and run IO.

why am I complaining? because since all you need is more than 1 "travel" power to slot both the winters gift and Blessing of the Zeffer on one character and still get all the benifits or 6 slot 1 travel power. PLEASE FLAG SPRINT FOR UNIVERSAL. there is no danger in doing it.

No auto power accepts any form of travel set, universal or specific type.
this doesnt change the fact that swift and hurdle are also excluded. Since the entire set is a unique, you can't slot more than one set PERIOD into any travel power so it wouldn't matter if you have 1 or 20 sprints.

my point is that we should be allowed to slot the set into ANY power that allows movement since you can't have more than 1 of any of the IOs from the set on the same character

Universal Travel ENH can't go into sprints?

from my understanding, the +4 Knockback protection and the winters gift (cant remember the stat) slow reduction are a unique and no subject to stacking exploits.

    Winter's Gift

I had the plan for an all natural character right down to no travel power. Using ninja run, sprint swift and hurdle I'd prove my ninja traning had prepared me to be just as fast as some other heroes.

I set off to earn all the candy canes needed and the holy moment came... I had my winter's gift. it seams however it was scrooge that gave me the gift however as I very quickly found that it can NOT be slotted into sprint, swift or hurdle!

If I understand it right, this is the ONLY travel power set that you can't slot into sprint, swift or hurdle. Whats the deal? is this a bug? is this working as intended? This seems rather unfair.
  22. this thread has so been overplayed out, this thread is about mutants. PLEASE no more "what makes a character origin x or not" stuff. we all have diff opinions on what a origin is classified. we get that but can we please stick to mutation discussion at least?

I have been looking forward to the mutant booster for a long time and would really love it if we can talk seriously about what we would like as we CAN have an impact on the dev's line of thinking.
  23. Personally for mutation I would like to see costume parts similar to the avenue that the Ralaruu Brutes are designed. I know that they arent mutant but look at thier arms and hands. the skin ripples with nonessencial protrusions of growth.

To me, the only real way to make a mutation booster pack would be to have costume parts make them look like a born freak. maybe for the power we could have sliders for individual parts so for instance one wing would look puny and under develped while the other was massive or the right foot looks contorted while the left is fine. maybe we can utilize more asymetrical costume paterns this way.
