I have an Nvidia GeForce 8800GTX video card in my system and was wondering how up to par it is with other cards that can do the ultra mode? I also have another 8800 that isnt installed atm that I can put in for SLI mode.

while we do know that the Geforce 9800 / GTS 250 are the baseline cards from the Nvidia side, we don't know the resolution scaling yet that the developers used as a basis.

Given that these cards are pretty much just a clock-chipped version of the chip used in your 8800, the 8800 will probably be fast enough for Ultra Mode. The question is what resolution will you be able to run in. For that, you'll just have to wait for beta and for players to actually have hands on.

Also, unless there's something we haven't been told yet, I'm not sure if Ultra Mode will actually result in performance increases under SLI/Crossfire setups. I know the performance gain is negligible at the moment, but I guess it's one of those things we'll have to check out once we actually see it running on a variety of hardware.

Wasn't the demo shown in a crossfire or x2 configuration? I don't think they would have bothered with showing a multi GPU config unless there was a benefit to using it.

Besides, x2 cards and Crossfire/SLI are becoming common enough that it would make sense to utilize multi GPU technology if you are going to be rewriting the the graphics engine today.
