  1. I tried again today still could not access anything CoH on my main computer. Seems to work just fine on my droid.
  2. I cannot view the CoH web pages (forums and other portions) on my main computer.
I can view other companies forums. I can view every other web page. But I cannot view any CoH page. The only pages I have any issue with are the CoH pages.

I can see the CoH pages just fine on my 2nd computer (which is how I'm typing this).

    My main computer is:

    IE8 Version: 8.0.6001.18702IC

    XP Pro (5.1 Build 2600)

    AMD Athlon 64 3000+

    3072MB RAM

    I appreciate any help.

I have to agree with you here.

Unless it means something like SOE's station pass.
  4. For Maus it would be Jeanette Biedermann (or at least Jeanette when she was young and could play a 14 year old... )

  5. Honestly, I can't remember the last thing I watched on SyFy. (I hate the name change too.) Just nothing they've had has remotely appealed to me. So a big Meh... from me.
It would be great if they could offer something like Firefly, Farscape, or the like. But I think they'll just keep turning out Sharktopuss movies... and umm... well... I'll find other stuff to watch.
  6. I'm confused. How would you prefer something like Incarnate levels be unlocked?

Are you saying that they should just be automatically unlocked when you hit 50? Or?
  7. I found a dealer about 20 minutes away that has different brands. I am going up today to take a look (when they open).
  8. Awesome thank you. To answer some questions:

Will be used to sew clothing, and costumes (kids halloween mostly).

It will not be used for anything commercial. Right now the old one is being used to embroider names on Christmas gifts (towels I think).

Easiest way to find a dealer? (yellow pages under sewing machine I guess.) So far I've only been to Jo Ann's fabrics. They only had one Singer model for about $800.
  9. So... Heroes and villains need to sew their costumes sometimes. (Is that enough to make this on topic?!?!?)

I want to get my SO a new sewing / embroidery machine. Any recommendations? I want something quality that will allow custom computer generated embroideries.

    I appreciate all suggestions.

When you get one emp or maybe two emps playing this way, it is entirely logical that they're going to "find" that they're "having to heal more": the more teammates you have, the more enemies spawn. The logic behind this is not that the other players can suddenly take on more than the usual amount, but that you will be contributing to the offensive efforts to take down these foes. When you don't, those foes head towards that awkward blaster who now requires some assistance to either stay up or put them down. You choose to help him stay up, he takes longer to put them down; you are effectively the source of your team's healer dependencey. There is nothing odd about it. You may certainly be having fun, but a great many players will not have fun teaming with you and just because they don't voice any opposition to it doesn't mean they're having fun.

To the OP: a great many people have suggested a controller for a "pure support" character, and I am inclined to agree. Mind control/empathy is certainly a good, safe choice, but you might also consider illusion control/empathy. You have many summons who can do your dirty work for you. You click, they appear, you can go back to supporting the team while letting them do their thing. I highly recommend it over making a defender and ignoring half of your powers.
You know... What I find most often is that we don't have issues with mobs when I run that character, and what keeps me busy is not the healing it is all the buffs. I keep them as constant on everyone as I can. That is what keeps me busy. I find the better I am with the buffs the less I have to heal.
Again, one of the worst parts of a thread like this is telling a new person how they should play. Me? I prefer to play scrappers. I thought up a concept, and made a new character, figured it would be a fun challenge to see if I could get to 50 and only take the mandatory attack power. I have done the IO'd out character.
My point is that with this game there IS room to play themed characters that do not conform to the flavor of the month.
Nor do I think it is important to have an advanced degree in mathmatics to succeed at the game.
So you want to make a pure healer? I say go for it.
Sure... you can crunch the numbers and then solo AVs and such. But if you just want to play the game and have fun... heck do what you want.
I can say that most PUGs I've been on have asked to add my Emp Defender to their friends list because they want to group with her again.
Just saying, there is no right or wrong way to play. So long as you and the group are having fun. That as has been pointed out is the, well, point.
  12. As to the ignoring the secondary comments. I've played this game for a very long time. I recently wanted a new challenge. So I created an Empathy/Energy Defender. At level 30ish I still only have one attack. (Not counting Brawl or Vet abilities).
I had this planned all the way to 50 to not take another attack. It is a concept, peace loving kind of character. I have only been on PUGs so far. To date I've never had anyone complain.
Oddly enough it is the busiest I've ever been with a character. I do nothing but heal and maintain buffs on everyone.
There are occasions when things are going well and we are steam rolling through a mission that I will use my one attack.
So not being what a defender can be? Maybe. But I'm having fun, and to date so is everyone I've been teamed with.
The nice thing about CoX is that you can play it how you want and usually be successful.
(BTW, I've not replanned things since they announced Fitness as inherent. I'm not sure if I can avoid taking any more attacks now; assuming I respec that is.)

I do not and will never have any of the Rikti weapons, and I have never seen a full set of Vanguard gear on any character I have ever owned or will ever own.
    QFE!

I so agree with this. I have had ideas for Roman / Greek characters but didn't make them because I didn't want them to have a "temp" costume to level 35 till I can put them in the correct costume after doing an ITF.

No, no, no to unlockable costumes.
  14. What I want from the NPCs are the chest symbols. We have a bunch already in the game. A good start on new symbols would be:

    - Freedom Corp / Longbow
    - Knives of Artemis

Skull and Carnival masks are in the gray area for me, but most other parts are fair game for discussion.
    David,

I have to call this one. All the Arachnos VEPs make this silly. We have no trouble running a mission full of Arachnos with VEPs on the team. Why would any other combo be confusing?
  16. You aren't kidding about that last minute bit. I think it actually was under 10 when we finally got him down.
  17. I have thought for years that the best actress to play her would be Monica Bellucci, I have not seen another actress that can pull of all the aspects of what WW should be. Sadly, after watching Shoot 'em Up I can't really say that. It pains me to say but I think she has gotten too old. It is really sad because she would have been perfect.
  18. If it isn't too late to get in line:

    Here is Schattenmaus:

The only color are her yellow eyes.

  19. All of the above are fantastic.

A part of me is hoping that something like that gets done.

But, there is another part that hopes that at some point we get more Super Hero type content.

Don't get me wrong, Praetoria is fantastic. But it isn't what I want from this game, namely to be a Super Hero. I don't play it to wade around in morally ambiguous content. To each their own. Just saying... this really isn't mine. Yes, I will play it through at least once. But, I'm pretty sure at the end of the day I'll be back in Paragon fighting the good fight.
  20. That is great. Now if they could just write code so boosters could be bought the same way.

Got it. I did run through that room. Thank you.

So off I go Ghoul hunting.

(BTW this is the only tutorial badge yes? I looked through the list and didn't see another listed. I just didn't see anything saying it was the only one. Of course the other 2 tutorials only have one, so it stands to reason... )

I typed "What time is it in France" into Google. It says 11:37pm. So 2 o'clock would be in 2 1/2 hours from now? Yes?

Is there a way for a Loyalist to get this badge? Guide says:

Avid Reader - (Praetorian) (Tutorial badge) You take the time to listen to and read everything you run across. As a reward for this remarkable trait, Rothstein of the Resistance gave you this badge.

I've talked to everyone and clicked all the optional text I could find. But when I talked to Marquand (sp?) I didn't get the badge.

Have to admit I am pretty aggravated. I had a name saved, deleted it to make my first praetorian just to find out I can't make a character and the name I saved is no longer saved.

    Yes, I agree, Epic Fail.
