  1. It seems that is all CoH is now... City of Farming. I am really sick and tired of it. I havent played in a week.

    I am tired of asking for more Base items and being ignored so I can watch more crap being added to the game. I dont like farming but since you obviously like to cultivate that kind of thing, I will hope that Champions will be bettter.

    Its a Shame, I am a 59 month Vet but the game has steadily been losing its appeal.

    I agree most heartedly!! PLEASE come up with something different for the Events and switch them every year. I have been playing this game since Beta and this year nearly closed my account, I was so disapointed with the same old Events.

    Come on! Can't we expect something different each year? There seems to be a mindset that all you have to do is brush off the same old thing wether it be Veteran Rewards or Event and the players will keep on coming. Trust me, its wearing thin.
  3. Currently, trying to find a Winter lord team is very difficult. It takes 5 or more to summon a Winter Lord and even more to defeat one. It can be very fustrating when attempts to form a team or get a big enuf team is met with apathy.

    The fact that you get a Reward Merit for defeating a Winter Lord is a great step in the right direction but still the Winter Lord is met mostly by yawns and apathy. People would rather be mindlessly farming since the rewards are greater.
  4. How about Rewards that actually let us Customize our characters the way we imagine them to be?

    This ciould go alot further using existing Temp powers. Add Inherant Powers as Rewards for collecting 50 Candy Canes :

    Iron Sword
    Crey Freeze Ray (Increased Recharge)
    Revolver
    Bow and Arrow
    Golden Rings
    Divining Rod
    Hurl Boulder
    Bean Bag Gun
    Electro-Magnetic Grenades
    Holy Shotgun Shells


    If the Devs think this is too powerful, then let it be as a replacement power for the Vet Reward powers. Whatever it takes that lets US determind how our Characters look and Play.
  5. At the very least you could have Winter Invasions in the same way you have Rikti and Zombie invasions.

    Just like the Rikti Invasuions, the Winter Beasts would always con at least White to everyone. This would prevent High Level characters from zipping along opening present after present and leaving the spawns behind.

And of course, there's the issue of high-level characters ignoring snowmen they could easily defeat, but the people who actually belong in the zone can't. You'd think common courtesy would be enough of an incentive for things like that, but I've been proven wrong in that many times, both in real life and in-game.

    I'd also like to see some more variety in the holiday missions, too. Like, what ever happened to the "Steal/Recover the Presents" missions from just after CoV launch?

    Year after year its the same thing and the same complaints. Spawns like this should Con white or orange to everyone. When you get a NAUGHTY the Monsters should also automatically agro on the person who opens it.

    But I know I'm wasting my breath... they jhave't listened for 4.5 years now.

    Objective:

    Conversely if you are trying to team "normally" and run the lvl 50 missions with the lvl 10 sk'd up (or the level 10 missions with the 50 exemp'd down) then the character that is either SK'd or Exemp'd will get no reward. I'm not sure if this is WAI, but I really hope not.

    Subjective:

    As it stand right now the BNY missions encourage mindless farming instead of standard teaming which I doubt is what the development team wants (though perhaps I have misjudged that).

    Note - I am aware that this can be worked around by un-sk'ing/exemp'ing at the correct moment, but that just means more hassle for playing by the assumed rules.

    Are you sure their Objective isn't mindless stomping thru missions? Seems like every issue they add more things that only require mindless stomping and are very slow to stop exploits that encourage it.

    Looking just at their actions and not their words, this is the FARM OF HEROES.
  8. After 4 and a half years playing this game I am feeling a bit taken advantage of his Winter Event. The Same Baby New Year Missions, the same Prsesents popping up in the SAME places, even the Winter Lords have been met with Apathy.

    What about adding something new each Event so its not the same old thing?

    Having Zombie Invasions in the Winter Event is not a good idea - whoever is supposed to be coordinating the Events should be left go. We need someone with some fresh blood and some new ideas and not someone who just keeps throwing the same old crap at us.

    Speaking of Cars and Trucks, I would love it if they added a Scenario where we could fight Tanks !! I think that would be so cool!

    I did some more work on my base last night and still can't believe that bug got thru where you can't place an item where you want it on walls.

  10. Something I alway notice is the poor quality of Screenshots in this game. They are always too dark and muddy and look... well... crappy. Ads for the game that feature screenshots dont make me wanna buy the game.

    I have long asked for an area somewhere that was at the very least well lighted and would take good screenshots. This could be Wentworths, City Hall or any of the Stores.

    Even better would be some Light Decorations that we could install in the base that actually provided the best light for tajking screenshots. I have spent hours trying to position lights in such a way that enabled me to take good screenshots.

    Better yet would be a command that automatically took a "perfect" screenshot of our character and sent it to our Screenshot directory. This function coule be at iCon.

    The coolest would be if the game made an animated GIF of our character that we could use in our E-Mails (thus also advertising the game!)
  11. Base NPCs

    I think it would be cool if several different varieties of Base NPC were made available.

    To go along with this, I'd love to see some training/gymnastic and gun range items... a Danger Room flavor, you might say.

    Magic - A Wizard working some Alchemical madness
    Mutants - A Bald Professor manning some weird wequipment
    Natural - Men in Black handling some Comm Equipment
    Science - A Doctor that can be stationed in the Med Bays.
    Technology - A Robby the Robot reopairing some Power Room equpiment.
    Universal - A Butler who would invite people coming into the base.


    To top things off it would be cool if these NPCs could be programmed to automatically say "skits" like our minions on COV can.
  12. I pm'ed CuppaJoe 2 yesr ago and asked about these. Her response was that it was too late for that year but to look for something the next. Why does it take so long for stuff we say we really want and then find that they spent their time working on... Day Jobs.
  13. I'd like to see a selection of Vending machines - Crey Cola and Pspsi Brand names would be cool.

    I want some Base NPCs that would greet people coming into the base.

    Viewscreens, Computer Terminals, SMALL Aecane Objects, all are needed.

    I'd would dearly love to be able to place STATUES of our LEVEL 50 Members (and Founders) in our Base.

    I think it might be a good idea if the Rikti changed tactics and tried to take over the Hazard Zones. This would solve a couple problems. Playerss who consider them annoying distractions wouldn't be bothered and it would make the Hazard Zones useful - currently most people ignore them and avoid them unless forced by a mission to go there and that is a crying shame!!

    I repeat my proposal that some minor changes be incorporated each week an Invasion occurs. These changes could be minor but used to slowly move the story along (advance the plot) and give players more of a reason to fight the Rikti.

    (1) The changes could be attempts to take over important objectives - no more of the "Rally at Ms Liberty" tedium.

    (2) There could also be Rikti chatter going on that would help clue us into their plans and be an important piece of info that Players could use to piece together clues (and make it more important that more people participate)

    (3) The Rikti could have specific objectives like taking down a section of the War Walls thus allowing them to re-invade the nion-hazard zones again. (Again, a reason for large numbers of players to particapate.)

    (4) The Rikti could have differing objectives each time - objectives that they intend to destroy. If destroyed, again it would advance their goals in some manner.

    (5) The Rikti attacks coiuld leave behind buildings or structures destroyed if the Players don't respond quickly enough. The more areas destroyed during these invasions, the greater the possibility that the Rikti gain a foothold on the Non-Hazard zones.

    LOL!!! Very Funny! I wish you wrote the dialogue for the game.

    I don't mind the Invasions. I play lots of alts and a couple still don't have all the badges. Those who are complaining could go to the RWZ or Orourobos or Cimerara or a Hazard Zone but are more worried about how the Rikti Invasions are interfering with their TF Farming.

    That being said, the repitition is getting old and again shows how lazy the Developers are getting. They seem to think that they can keep our attention by throwing the same old thing at us over and over. They could easily put a few hours into the Invasion and give them a unique twist each time. A specific attack goal. Some different dialogue pointing out their goals, targets within a zone that called for everyone to participate, their attacks could leave behind some destroyed areas that are only rebuilt if the next attack is turned back, etc

    No major changes but enough each time that it sparks our interest and isnt so mind numbing "the same old thing".
  16. I only wish they would turn all such powers OFF upon entering City Hall, Stores, Pocket D and the Auction House. We don't need Spammers and Griefers exploding everywhere trying to disrupt the game.

    I have, several times, suggested that Defender powers need to be different than Controller. After all, a Defender can hit for 65% the power of a Blaster. Yeah, ok, Defenders can self buff a bit, but solo, a Defender cannot self buff to equal a Blaster. Only on teams with other Defenders can they equal a Blaster, and then the Blaster on the team is being boosted at the same time so equality is never met. HOWEVER, Controller buffs are almost the equal of a Defender. Their RA, for example, is not 35% less effective. So, Defenders get to be Junior Blasters with Buffs (and many they cannot self use), Controllers get pets, run farms, and have all the benefits - clearly making them the superior AT.

    I have suggested over the years to change Defender buffs to Auras, and make Controller buffs individual. I have, again, turned in a suggestion to the Devs, maybe they will listen this time.

    That would certainly make the Defender Class more useful to me. I can not handle the frantic pace I must have to try and keep everyone buffed with individual buffs.

    I'sd like to take a step back here and address my main concern when creating a character. CONCEPT. This Veteran pool of powers should be an assortment of powers a Veteran can use to polish their character's concept. Does he have a Ray Gun? a Scabard for his sword, a Bow and arrows, a Sword?

    It would be terrific if we were worried a little more about Concept and not so much about Min-Maxing.

    Guides do seem to come out much less frequently nowadays. Even DB, which really cried out for it, saw much less guide-writing than I'd expected, and WP even less.

    My own (highly speculative) pet theory is that two game changes have indirectly contributed to this decline: Real Numbers made guides less essential for explaining what the powers actually do, and IOs made it harder to give simple, concise slotting advice that would be useful for a wide audience. So it's harder to write a genuinely useful guide nowadays, and of course there are also fewer people to do it.

    That said ... what glaring weakness? Plant, in particular, is an awesome set. True, about a third of the powers are meh, but I think of that as a blessing in disguise: the set is still fine without them, and meanwhile you can use those power choices to play with pools or your secondary.

    Short Plant guide: Skip Entangle, Roots (at least until late), Spore Burst and Spirit Tree. Slot the hell out of Seeds of Confusion and use it to open every fight. Slot Vines to taste, I reserve it as a panic button so I only give it 2-4 until I have slots to burn. Carrion Creepers is awesome, mix sets like a mad scientist to max it for Acc/Rech/Dmg. Fly Trap is OK, and can use the def debuff procs (which are relatively cheap and apply to all its attacks).

    As you said, 1/3 of the powers ate "meh".

    PLANT : Spirit Tree is a big letdown. Being unmovable, most fights are over before it is even felt. I wish they'd add some recovery buff to it and it would be lots better.

    I love my Carion Crawler and my Fly Trap. I just wish the rest of the powers were 1/2 as good.

    THERMAL : My biggest pronlem with Thermal, however, is that four of the powers are INDIVIDUAL BUFFS. Even with only 2 of the powers, it has me going crazy trying to run after everyone to Buff them. At least two of the powers should be some kind of AURA Buffs to cut down on the need to target everone individually.

    I am so far unimpressed with Heat Exhaustion. It does not seem very effective. I hope the higher tier De Buff is better. My efforts to support my team goes largely unappreciated with thermal - I would at least hope for some visual clue that I was doing something to the enemy.
  20. I made myself a couple Thermal Trollers, one a Plant Thermal, when the new powersets came out. After all this time I came hee to see if the rest of the world saw the glaring weaknesses in both sets that I do. Imagine my syirprise when a search for Thermal or Therm yielded no results! Imagine my horror when Plant yielded only two results, neither having to do with Plant Controllers.

    Whats up?? Am I looking in the wrong place?

    I've been tryimg to log onto Virtue for an HOUR now. I think that Guest accounts should only be allowed on lightly loaded servers and not lock out paying customers!!!

    Alot of Speculation about a Base Style Editor for making maps.

    Do you REALLY want to have to work with a Base Editor as buggy and Ill Designed as the current one we have for working on Bases?! Yes, I just wasted another 4 hours trying to upgrade our base. I am not in a good mood.

    They hit 75% of the time against even con minions, just like everything else.
    The should benefit from the new lowbie accuracy bonus, same as everything else.
    My high level characters have enough accuracy bonuses from sets that I don't miss much even with the vet reward powers.
    You can have lots of power trays now, all around the edges of the screen. I have one tray just for travel powers, and another just for temp powers.

    You fail to point out that you can't slot these powers for accuracy and that Set Bonuses don't apply to them either. Whoopee that they have the base 75% chance - the fact is they are next to useless when fighting orange and purple conned foes.
