    Is it true?

    [ QUOTE ]
    A real villain would lie and then laugh at us when that day comes and goes

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Unless, of course, he knew you wouldn't believe the truth even if he told it to you.....
  2. [ QUOTE ]
    Intentional. There is no way this was "undiscovered" on the test server. It is way too obvious.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Did you play on test? Did you test the patch and find this bug and report it? If not what's way too obvious is that there are too many people who think they know what they are talking about that don't. I played on Test from the time the patch went on it until it went live. I didn't even play my characters on live during that time. And I never ran into this issue on Test. With a level 10-12 controller, and a level 25-27 scrapper. Not ONE time were my mobs screwed up on Test they way they are on Live. So yes, it IS QUITE OBVIOUS that it could have been "undiscovered" on Test, and you have no clue what you are talking about.
  3. Oooh, I didn't even think of Cesar Romero..

    George Romero just sprung to mind because the zone is filled with Zombies and it's perpetually dark.

    So there are now three possibilities for the Romero reference to try to figure out.. odds on favorite, given the direction of most of the others, including the newsman badge, would be Cesar Romero, since he was in a direct comic connection.
  4. [ QUOTE ]
    Also, Raimi Arcade is named after Sam Raimi, creator of the Evil Dead series.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    And director of the Spider-Man movies...
  5. [ QUOTE ]
    Ted Knight was in Caddyshack with Bill Murray who was in Ghostbusters with Dan Akroyd who was in Blues Brothers with John Belushi who was in Animal House with........

    Kevin Bacon.

    (sorry, couldn't resist)

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That's good.. but.. you can do it shorter than that.

    Ted Knight was in Caddy Shack with Bill Murray who was in Wild Things with Kevin Bacon. 2 steps.

    Not a badge, and not comic related, but I'd guess that Romero Heights in DA is named for George Romero? (I'm really hoping there won't be a "Huh? Who's that?" post put up here...)
  6. And not every member of this game is Jewish. No offense intended to you, believe me, I respect every religion, but get real here. As was posted on another thread, if you expect them to not publish because it's a religious holiday for ONE religion, you need to go check a calender that lists holiday's for EVERY religion and take a good luck. Then realize that your complaint is rather foolish.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
    So I am assuming that the invasion is over already?

    -.-

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That would be a bad assumption based on the posts by a couple dev's.. it's been implied that this will be going on for quite a while, I'd guess they'd make it last at least all day, maybe a lot longer.

    I think it's cool that they slipped this in with Issue #2, but didn't have THIS part of it on the public test server. Nice surprise, and a big WTG for the dev's on that one.
  8. [ QUOTE ]
    I make no statement one way or the other, except to say that I am concerned about these changes based upon the feedback I have read so far. Therefore, DEV should drop in and answer the question CLEARLY. Is there a Design Decision to remove soloing as a viable option?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    The Dev's HAVE Given a clear answer to your question:

    Statesman:[ QUOTE ]
    Just to clarify something here. I said that I wanted every Archetype to be able to solo. In other words, if someone logs on, and they don't feel like teaming up with someone else, there's still something for them to do. All Archetypes can currently do this...but some builds are stronger in groups, others are stronger solo.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    That's taken from this thread here. The thread has been locked, but it's still open for reading.

    [ QUOTE ]

    No, I'll make up my mind for myself as usual.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Um..
    [ QUOTE ]

    But it appears to me that the changes coming will force my '30' to hunt lower level stuff reducing that return and costing much time on my part. Time I don't have.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Appears to you how.. based on other peoples posts? So much for making up your own mind..

    [ QUOTE ]

    I don't have the time to test this product, and I don't know what changes are coming except for some of the alarmist posts I have been reading. However, if they are true, I have to cancel my account and that would be a great loss in my opinion.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Here's my question.. you yourself called them "Alarmist" posts. That indicates that you at least realize that they are not "Fact". Yet, every single post here so far telling you that your play style should not change, and in fact may well be improved, you discount and ignore, or call people fanbois, and continue to sing the same tripe tune of [ QUOTE ]
    I have to cancel my account

    [/ QUOTE ] instead of saying "Hey, ok, maybe it won't be so bad, after all, here are some people who have also tested it, and they aren't being alarmist." If you don't have time to test it, then it must not be that major of a concern to you. Because if it was a big enough issue that I'd consider cancelling my account, you better believe I'd MAKE the time to test it, especially since your account is "coming due" soon. I'd want to know before I paid another month whether I'd want to play it or not. But since you "don't have the time" and have decided to discount, insult, and be an *** to those people who have tried to tell you that it's not as bad as the chicken littles are saying, don't expect anyone, especially a dev, to take you very seriously. The biggest complaint I've seen, reading the threads, is the 'multi-task' missions. Well, an OFFICIAL POST from a Dev was made, and linked to in this thread already, stating very clearly that those will be optional. YOUR complaint, regarding Influence, has nothing to do with the posts. I've not seen anything saying that influence was reduced. I've played on test, and not noticed ANY reduction in influence off mobs. I ran my character solo through the entire cape trial, and had enough influence to buy my cape, which while not expensive wasn't cheap either, by the influence reward for the missions and the influence off the full tray of enhancers I had at the end of the mission (there's only 1 "defeat" mission, btw, the other three are visit X and hear what they have to say missions). Not only did I buy my cape, but I gave influence away to someone else who had copied over just because I felt like it. But of course, since I'm not being an alarmist, I must be a fanboi, right?
  9. "L33T" (AKA 1337) actually has nothing to do with gamers, though it has been adopted by the gaming communities due to the "script kiddies" who got into games.

    LEET speak comes from "Elite", which was an, obviously, elitist term among true hackers and computer gurus. Basically if you weren't "L33T", you didn't get it, thus proving you weren't "L33T". If you did get it, that didn't always prove that you were elite, but it was accepted as credentials. Some gamers refer to it as "d00dspeak" or "d00d5p34k", because the gamers who adopted it went overboard in their use, and not only substituted numbers for letters, but mispelled words to make them more 'cool'.
    A small translation of the 'alphabet'...
    1=L or can be ! at the end of sentence.
    12=R
    3=E
    4=A
    5=S
    7=T, or sometimes, L
    8=B or "ate, eat(pronounced eat, like GR8), or eight like "H3Y, W8 4 M3"
    9 = G, or in the form of H8 v H9, 9 = 8 extended. (As you mentioned)
    0=o
    (=C sometimes, though not as common.
    @ is sometimes used for A also, and $ is sometimes used for S. A lot of times people will call someone an @$$ to bypass a language filter.

    There are a lot of others too, but I don't remember them, as I outgrew the use of the language years ago....

    To trully get a good grasp of "L33T SP34K", go to this link here, it does a great job of explaning it, as well as a lot of other terms.
