  1. Mini skirts are messed up this patch fyi. They are turned sideways so the slits are in the front and the back rather than on the side.

Personally..I don't care...but my wife won't shut up about it!
  2. It wasn't unlike most nights for AJ Cooper. Just another routine midnight outing at his lab, trying to perfect the secrets of power transmission. Ever since Edison and Tesla had advanced the science of electricity, man has dreamed of a way to broadcast power thru the air, so that we can finally rid ourselves of wires once and for all.

AJ Cooper was a dedicated scientist in the field of electricity, and was closer than ever to completing the first major advancement in the way we use electricity since the early 1900s. It was to be called Transmittable Current, or, TC. Both unfortunately, and fortunately for the world, AJ Cooper would never realize his dream.

With a loud smash, the burglar alarm went off on the lower floors of his office. His test phase had already begun and to shut it down while his coil grew in power would cause an incredible instability, and he was forced to continue despite the intrusion in the floors below. He secured the lab as best as he could, but the puny steel doors were simply no match for the visitors he had that night...the Freakshow.

Since the beginning of their cybernetic implants changed them from a simply street gang to supervillan group, the Freakshows leader Drek has wanted to garner more and more power to fuel his cybernetic army of miscreants. Dr. Coopers new invention would give him a leg up that would have taken the Freakshow to incredible new levels of power...the likes of which the heroes of Paragon City simply had no idea they would need to face.

A simple burglary alarm was easy to miss in Paragon. Labs, government buildings, and hideouts were typically the grounds for battle for many heroes and villans. The police had all but stopped responding to these things. However, a lone hero Omegastar had a hunch that this could be something bigger and he moved in to investigate.

As he arrived, he was shocked to not see the typical 5-10 freakshow that would be assigned to something so small time like this. There entering the building behind over 100 freaks was Drek himself...the leader of the Freakshow.

Omega knew he had no time, and it was imperative he gets any hostages out before this thing got really ugly. He moved through the building quickly with his cloaking device until he reached the upstairs labs. By passing the security matrix, he entered the lab to find Dr. Cooper working alone, with a large sphere of electricity growing in mass in the center of the room.

"We have got to get you out of here!" Omega told the Doctor.

Dr. Cooper explained his experiment in brief detail and told Omega that the experiment needed to run its course or the results could be catastrophic. Omega told him that there is simply no time and they had to leave.

At that very moment, the steel security door was smashed in by a freakshow tank. Without hesitation, Omega reached to his belt and pulled a small rod out. With the click of a button it fanned into a frisbee shaped trip mine that he hurled toward the door with a deadly precision. The explosion rocked the tank sending him back into the arms of his many troops. Bolt after bolt of energy was fired into the doorway attempting to stop the freaks from entering the lab. However, he was one hero..and they were dozens...something had to give.

"I know a back way out" AJ told Omega. Thru a small ventilation shaft the two shimmied down tight corridors. Their hair began to stand up from all the electricity his project was accumulating. They reached the ground floor and dashed toward the exit to discover....a bomb...a big bomb.

A quick check of the timer revealed the terrible news of less than 4 seconds until detonation. One of the freaks must have set the charge incorrectly.

"NOOOOOOOOO!!!!" cried Omega throwing the doctor to the ground and blasting at the bomb in desperation.

    KABOOOOOOM

The 5 story building came crashing down on Omegastar. Drek and his minions were shaken, but not harmed by the blast due to the metal alloys they reinforced their armor with. A Freakshow Lt. told Drek that he got the doctors notes before the blast and they began to walk away from the wreckage. Drek looked back at Omegastar realizing he just killed a very prominent hero in Paragon.

    KABOOOOOOOOOM

An explosion even louder than the last rocked Paragon City. The building that had collapsed was consumed by a destructive attack that had been mastered by Omegastar...simply known as Nova. Now angered at the death of his hostage, Omegastars attacks were precise and deadly. Dispatching freak after freak, working his way toward Drek, Omegastar would not be deined justice. Fueled by rage and adrenaline, Omegastar could not feel the fatigue creeping thru his body. As he finished off the last of the tanks, and stood face to face with Drek, he was visibly panting.

Drek laughed thinking he had Omegastar right where he wanted him. With a swipe of the giant blade, Omega was sent reeling across the street, slamming into a parked car.

"You should have quit while you were ahead little man..." Drek scowled.

    SLAM

The thunderous boom of the giant mallet attached to his other hand crushed into Omegastar, causing him to crash into a small crater in the pavement.

Omegastar opened his eyes to see a glint of light gleam off the sharpened blade of Dreks sickle as it was coming down to finish him off. If it weren't for seeing it himself, he never would have believed what happened next.

    KERRZAPPPPPPP

A HUGE lighting bolt slapped Drek across the body slamming him into a building and rendering him unconscious just before the blade impacted Omegastar. He peered from the crater expecting to see a hero..instead...it was the hand of a very bloody and battered Dr. Cooper...smoking from the sudden discharge of all that electricity.

With the final act of nobility, Dr. Cooper collapsed. Omegastar picked him up..and took him to the medical bay inside the secret headquarters of the Midnight Protectorate.

"Doc...I got one for ya" was the simply communcae sent from Omega to the venerable Dr. Midnight..who rushed home to assist his long time friend.

Dr. Midnight could sense something in this man...not death or the end...but a roar of thunder coming from his soul...

Small bands of electricity arced across his body as he laid there on the table.

Omegastar looked at Midnight and asked "Is this it for him? Is he a gonner?"

Dr. Midnight simply replied..."No my friend...this is only his beginning"

    Thunderflux...was born.

(Note: Omegastar is a energy/devices blaster in our supergroup. Dr. Midnight is the leader and plays a sort of magical based character intune with things arcane.)
  3. One question I had from your guide that I'd really like to know...

Do most of the ice manipulation powers cause you to put away and have to redraw your bow?
  4. Thank you! I've been a long time 50 that took a break from the game. I'm looking to start attending some hami raids...this is just what I needed to read to not screw everything up!
  5. So whats the beef against exploding arrow? The dmg seems on par with fistful, a longer range...and AoE instead of cone? I get that some people don't like the knockback..but is there any other reason people dislike this arrow? People seem really high on the dmg of fistful, but down on the dmg of exploding and they seem nearly identical.
  6. So would a 3 slotted swift, sprint, and hurdle be a good substitute to a travel power? This idea is really intriguing to me.
  7. Couple more questions for ya...

How important is stamina? Will I suffer if I don't take it? Also...I'll eventually get both PGA and Ice Arrow...but one will be much later down the road..which will help more in the early going? Thanks
  8. Great guide...one question though on your build..no travel power?
  9. Did you receive my wife and my information?
  10. Still finalizing my list of roles I'm interested in and my wifes as well. Should have it later this evening or tomorrow.
  11. Kinda shy on time right now but a really easy setup that accomodates all that easily with very little web knowledge needed is at Guildportal.com

    Give it a shot
  12. Very interesting idea.

I'd love to be part of this. I can think of many team oriented roles I"d like to have.

The wise venerable ally with knowledge beyond this realm...

The young pure upstart, full of good intentions in a bad world....

Oh the possibilities! Plus the consistant team allows for a more unique character concept as you have depenable teammates. Yeah I'd be interested...can we have a brainstorming session ahead of time to kinda have a rough outline of what the general plot is...and then let it unravel however it may be from there?

Also, my wife might be interested in this kinda thing.

I'd love to RP a little side budding romance within the team with her
  13. I'm on protector...is Virtue like the roleplay server?
  14. community? Granted, sometimes I struggle with the really super-ultra-creative hardcore RPers (You know, the ones that have incredibly original and lavish quirks) simply because I'm more of a lightweight. I'm just looking for a community where I can roll up a hero, act like my hero, be my hero, and have a more rich interactive experience.

It gets really hard when you toss off some little hero-speak and you get met with:

    Superd00d: dude? u ok?

Is there anywhere around that has a good sized RP community flourishing? I remember in UO there were roleplay communities inside of the larger communities which I loved. I could enter the community after doing less social, more powergaming type mode, and sit down and RP for awhile, then leave and do my thing again. If you are out there...I really want to find you!

Disclaimer: Nothing against you hardcore roleplay folks, you guys just take it to a level that is beyond what I am able to keep up with. I applaud your creativity and the level of which you are able to immerse yourself. I just don't share that quality and it can be frustrating to feel lost and confused in a simple conversation with someone

    More answers....

    Easy specific question...

I sent you a PM about this awhile back Statesman....is Tornado being looked at? The AI stops attacking just outside of where it can actually hit things, it requires the mob to voluntarily step inside to the tornado after it finishes with its initial target.

    Thanks!
  16. I really like the idea of offline heroes busy in the base. If the base should be attacked...why can't the heroes leave to handle another matter (Diversion)?

So say you have 10 members sitting around chatting, doing computer things, whatever at the base....enemies are going to attack...well who would attack it with 10 heroes inside? Suddenly they are alerted to go somewhere to deal with something. They despawn to start the attack event, then the heroes can intervene, then at the conclusion they respawn having returned and dealt with the crisis they were dealing with.
